A Summer's Regression

[robehouse]

Judy quickly moved the thermometer after it beeped and looked at it.

[Skylove27]

"Grape.. I don't like liquid medicine auntie."Paige whined softly. She sounded close to crying.

[robehouse]

"What kind do you like then, honey? I can give you chewable Tylenol if you prefer in grape."

Judy unsnapped the crotch of Paige's footed pajamas to check her diaper.

[Skylove27]

"I want chewable Tylenol please." Paige says softly. She had a heavy wet diaper she was beginning to get a slight rash as well.

[robehouse]

Judy left Paige's diaper alone for now and went to get the medicine and a bottle of juice. She came to the crib with one chewable Tylenol and the bottle and handed Paige the Tylenol.

"There you go baby. This is the prescribed dosage for a child your age."

Judy handed Paige the Tylenol and waited for her to put it in her mouth.

Paige took it and put it in her mouth. We chewed it slowly and reached for the bottle of juice. She sniffled. "I'm tired." She says softly.

[robehouse]

"It's alright. You can go back to sleep as soon as I change your diaper, baby."

Judy got a new diaper, wipes and powder and worked Paige's legs from the sleeper. She untaped her diaper and and lifted her legs, pulling the diaper out. She saw some redness so Judy got the diaper rash creme. She cleaned Paige with the baby wipes, then put some of the diaper rash creme on her.

"You've got a bit of a rash, sweetie. Auntie is putting some creme on you that will help make it go away."

Judy slipped the new diaper under Paige and sprinkled the powder on her. She taped the diaper closed and put Paige's legs in the sleeper again before snapping it closed.

"Alright, you can go back to sleep if you want. I think it would be best if Anna came another time, don't you? We don't want her to get sick."

Paige tried to itch at her rash when Judy took off her diaper. But pulled her hand away when Judy started to wipe her. She whined softly.

"You need to leave your rash alone, honey. You'll only make it worse."

Judy tucked the covers around Paige.

Paige put her bottle in her mouth and laid on her side. She closed her eyes to sleep.

[robehouse]

Nancy came over a short time later and Judy told her about Paige being sick. Nancy looked in on Paige and saw she was asleep. Nancy helped Judy with the housework and made some chicken soup for when Paige woke up.

An hour and half later Paige woke up crying loudly, her diaper was messy and her face was still flushed like earlier

Both Judy and Nancy came hurrying back to the crib.

Paige continued to cry and whine as carried to the changing table. She felt miserable.

[robehouse]

Judy laid Paige on the changing table and strapped her down She untaped her diaper and cleaned her with baby wipes.

"How about we put Paige in the tub and wash her with cold water? It might help her fever." Nancy said.

"We need to bring her fever down for sure."

Nancy left and went to the bathroom. She started water running in the tub. Judy finished cleaning page and carried her to the bathroom, setting her down in the tub.

Paige continued to cry as she was cleaned up. She didn't even pay attention to where she was being carried to but her crying started to quiet down when she felt the cool water on her skin.

Judy held Paige as Nancy gently washed her with cold washcloths.

"Does this feel better baby? After your bath I'll put a diaper on you and you can sit with Miss Nancy so you don't over heat, okay?" Judy cooed softly in Paige's ear.

Paige nodded. And nodded again

[robehouse]

Judy washed Paige for another ten minutes using cool water, then got her out of the tub and dried her off. She took her to the nursery and laid her on the changing table. She slipped a clean diaper under Paige and spread more diaper rash creme on her. She sprinkled powder on Paige and taped the diaper closed. Judy picked Paige up and handed her to Nancy, who gently took her. Nancy slipped a pacifier in Paige's mouth and sat down in the rocking chair in the room. She cradled Paige on her lap and started patting her bottom.

Paige was quiet and not playful the whole time. She started to get fussy and whiney when she was taken out of the bath but relaxed when she was laid on the changing table. And cooed softly after she was changed and given to Nancy. She suckled her paci

[robehouse]

"Poor baby. You don't feel good do you? Being almost naked should help you feel cool. I'm sorry you are sick."

Nancy cooed to Paige and rocked her, patting her bottom. Judy got the medicine ready for Paige to take in a bit and set it on the table next to Paige along with a baby bottle with juice in it.

"There is some juice for Paige when she gets thirsty. She is due for more medicine in about a half hour." Judy announced.

"Alright. We're going to get Paige back to her old self aren't we? Yes we are." Nancy cooed again to Paige.

Paige relaxed against Nancy and snuggled her. Her eyes were dropping slowly. But a few minutes later her eyes were opened again

[robehouse]

Nancy saw Paige's face and stood up. She walked with her to the bathroom nearby and took her over to the toilet.\

"It's okay, baby. Go and and throw if you need to."

Paige whined softly over the toilet and suddenly she puked quickly in the toilet, and lasted throwing up for atleast a minute

[robehouse]

Nancy held Paige's hair back so she wouldn't get throw up in it. She waited until Paige was finished and lifted her up. She poured water into a paper cup and handed it to Paige.

"Go ahead and rinse your mouth out, baby. It must feel yucky."
