A New Sister

Gracie erupts in a fit of laughter when she sees Emily run outside naked, Maggie struggling to catch up with her. "Emily, get back in here! You just got clean!"

Emily runs around the yard laughing at the top of her lungs. She takes gracies hand wanting her to join.

"You let her out of the tub by herself didn't you? She started that when you were gone"

Ashley laughs as she sees her running aorund bare naked.

"Yes I did, and I was too tired to catch her!" Maggie said as Gracie climbed out of the sandbox and took off running with Emily.

Emily points to Gracie's nightgown trying to get her to be naked with her,

"Let her be naked look SHES having fun with Gracie"

Maggie shakes her head as Gracie giggles and rips her nightgown off. "Whatever makes them happy at this point," she said with a chuckle. "If you're okay out here I'm gonna go see what we have that I can make quick for dinner."

"Yeah I'm good, this should wear them out a little."

She says with a laugh.

"Looks like your making friends with Emmie huh?"

She asks Gracie interlocking her index finger then turning her wrists and repeating it and then pointing to emily singing the word for friend.

"Shouldn't take much, I don't think that poor girl has had 10 hours of sleep in the last 2 days," Maggie said as she headed back to the house.

Emily runs inside to mama.

"Ma!"

She says doing the potty dance in the kitchen.

"Come here baby I think you need a break"

"Oh, come on, let's get you on the potty!" Maggie said, grabbing Emily to the bathroom and sitting her on the toilet.

Emily sits on the potty and hugs her legs. She lets out a big grunt as a large log plops into the toilet. Emily sighs with relief.

"You're very pretty you know."

She says making the sign for beautiful.

"Good girl," Maggie praised, helping Emily wipe her bottom before letting her pick out a sticker. "Now, wash your hands and go get a pull up and your jammies on."

Emily runs upstairs and puts her pull-up and nightgown on.

"Are you hungry?"

She asks signing eat.

Gracie nodded wildly, understanding the sign and repeating it, then held up three fingers, tapping her chin with her index finger to indicate she also wanted a drink of water.

"Okay let's go get you some water and food."

She says carrying her inside. She decides to carry her to the bathroom.

"Do you need to go Potty?"

She asks making a fist with her thumb between her index and middle finger and waving it to say toilet.

Gracie nods and waits for Ashley to take off her diaper, which is already damp.

Ashley takes off the diaper and places her on the potty waiting to see if she'll go.

"Okay, honey"

She calls to Maggie. Emily comes peeking her head in when she hears mommy.

Gracie sits on the toilet for a few minutes, swinging her legs, before she pees a little, then does the sign for 'all done.' She giggles and waves when Emily peeks in the bathroom.

"Good girl!"

She praises wiping her.

"Why don't we put a sticker for you on the potty chart"

She says showing Gracie the stickers. Emily gets upset starts to cry, she runs over to Maggie in the kitchen stomping her feet.

Gracie had no clue about the potty chart but was more than happy to pick a sticker.

Emily grabs Maggie's hand and leads her to the bathroom where Ashley is placing a sticker for Gracie on Emily's potty chart.

"Good girl sweety"

She praises Gracie, while Emily points inside the bathroom still crying.

"Oh, is she putting a sticker on your potty chart?" Maggie asks. "Don't worry, we'll make one for her tomorrow, okay? Did she actually go on the potty?" she asked Ashley.

Emily cries and stomps her feet angrily.

"Yes, Gracie did go on the potty. I figured her and Emily could share a chart"

She says picking Gracie up.

"Good girl!" Maggie said, giving Gracie a kiss. "I think we better get another chart before World War three starts! Anyways, dinner is almost ready so come sit down."

[Shy-Diapers]

Emily frowns and heads to the table and sat inner highchair feeling a little left out.

"Okay lets eat Gracie."

She says signing the word for eat.

Maggie set a plate with some mac 'n cheese and a cut-up hot dog in front of each girl. She also had a bowl of cut-up cantaloupe, knowing that if nothing else Gracie would at least eat the fruit.
