Sphincter "Grabs" Catheter

I'm having a weird issue where the bladder sphincter will clamp down tight around the eyes of the catheter when I'm trying to remove it.

I guess I should have mentioned this happens with intermittent caths too....

I know the feeling. My sphincter usually spazes out right as I remove it too (and keeps doing it for 5-10 minutes after). Try switching to hydrophylic catheter, they are coated in a self lubricating film. That might make it easier for you to slowly pull it out even with your sphincter grabbing it. You didn't mention what size you're using. If you're having a difficult time removing it then try a smaller size. A 12fr is usually a good place to start, you can also find 10fr online or with a prescription too but they are more difficult to get/find.
