ForbiddenFruit
With this come to light now, hopefully the different military units will slowly get rid of their bans on trans* people. I was surprised when I heard that the DADT repeal didn't get rid of those at the same time, but of course, DADT never addressed them in the first place Link to comment
Gennie
Just because you're trans doesn't mean you can't do the job. 1 Link to comment
ErinM
Technically she isn't the first female SEAL since she was still a he when in the Teams. 1 Link to comment
sarah_ab
while she may be the first SEAL to come out as transgendered... the article title is misleading - purposely because it gets you to read the real article. She did not enter the armed forces, go through training and combat and then SEAL training all while presenting as a female, but rather was a male and only transitioned much later. So yes she is currently a female SEAL, but has not always been a 'female' SEAL and that while she may have felt female, she continued to live and present herself as a male. Link to comment
