Hmmm it has been a long time since I posted anything of relevance. And before anyone says this has been discussed as a previous topic before, all I can say is I tried the Forum Search and it won't allow me to search for anything with less than 4 characters. So here goes:

As I've been catching up on the forums it struck me to do a Giggle (yeah spelled incorrectly on purpose) search for "Wearing diapers fad." Holy Cow!!!! I was completely shocked that this has been discussed both recently and in the past (three years ago) in mainstream forums. Note to moderators: If this post belongs to "Diapers in the News" please feel free to move it. I was just wondering if anyone else has seen a more mainstream acceptance...or not. Not all of the references below are positive but they are interesting I think. And apologies if this is a redundant topic.

One last add and maybe future poll item: If we assume this gets accepted as a fad. Is this positive or negative as a community? Or should we demonstrate that we are part of a "normal" and functioning society (assuming we reach mass fad status). There is no doubt I felt I was alone and weird before newsgroups, dpf, and DD but don't want to push my affiliations on anyone. I do think we have an audience greater than most of us realize. And our future acceptance really does depend on all of us. Any another .02 cents....which I can't even take to the penny candy these days ;-)

I wonder how many of the posts are real parents and how many are horny ABDLs typing with one hand? Like the guy that claims diapers cured his IBS and his wife wears 24/7 to support him, and they never potty trained their kids and don't have a toilet in their home.

That was my point. It is strange, are we starting to gain more acceptance or are we being more outcast? What really shocked me was that some of these "online" discussions started three years ago then some of them are recent. This isn't the Jerry Springer stuff just normal people talking.

Judging by the sate of society/world right now, it's going to be a loooooooooooooooooooooooooooooong time before diapers become even close to being accepted. Most countries still place monumentally huge taboo's just on plain sex. Advanced concepts like fetishes would blow their minds.

This find is pretty awesome diaperwerx! I think the most of those threads were legitimate parents dealing with their children's desires. The first thread talked about the son wanting his parents to baby him which is pretty radical to me.When I was young I did have fantasies about being the baby of the house, but would never actually confront my parents about this. It would simply be too weird, and would hate the experience in reality. The last thread about a diaperfad was my favorite. When I was a kid i single handly coerced about 4 or 5 friends to try diapers with me. I would take them from my sister and usually play a game of truth or dare and used trying on a diaper as my go to dare. At that age diapers would easily arrouse me and was convinced that diapers helped eveyone get an easier stiffy and had not fully realized that this fetish was unique to me. I remember having two of these friends try them based on the simple logic that it would give you an erection. I also came out to a group of 7 or 8 friends in 9th grade and was poked at occasinoly over the years. I am happy that they did not spread the rumor to my knowledge atleast, but remember an isolated incident in 11th grade. A girl friend of mine(friend that is a girl not realtionship type) whispered into my ear something about wearing diapers in a sexy tone. I was instantly embarssed and nervously smiled and did not answer her.Looking back I wish I would have handled the situation differently,in retrospect could have potentially turned into an awesome diapering experience with a cute girl. These are my endeavors on the subejct of a diaperfads, did any of you guys have any similar experience with friends and trying diapers while gorwing up?

i do a lot of goggle searching and unfortunately most of those posts are from lonely ab/dl's.. i was curious myself about how often diapers are talked about online and did a lot of google searching and there were some legitimate posts but yahoo is full of fake posts probably mostly all from one person

if you look at some of the diaper posts on yahoo, you will see a variety of similar questions asked by the same user but each claiming to be different people and in different scenarios. I really don't think there is a diaper fad.. the ones that wear diapers now are not part of any fad.

I really wish people would stop making those posts online because they really make us look bad.

As much as you look for this being a fad, I'm afraid all you've done is expose the nasty side of the negative reactions we get from the general public. I didn't read much acceptance in those articles.

And you probably never will see much acceptance. Humanity is still fumbling over the basics of reproductive sex.

There's never going to be any sort of diaper fad or any sort of large movement for accepting ABDLs. Not specifically anyway, people are becoming more accepting of kinks in general though. The focus on this one somewhat rare fetish is what makes this stuff about ABDL liberation seem so weird to anyone who understands what things look like to people on the outside.

I wouldn't go as far as saying this :Crylol: myself. I can see where a famous and popular enough person could take diapering to the mainstream masses, most likely as a fashion statement of some kind ;) Who would have believed 5 years ago that one of the top women models in the world would be a guy, not specificly a TG, but a self-admitted male who loves those fashions and has the face and body the job calls for? Yet Andre Pejic is all the rage on the runway and all the top designers are throwing buckets of money around to get him B) So the improbable is possible to my way of thinking. I'm not making predictions as to when, but I will say that when it does happen, the use of diapers will be downplayed- it will be an incontinence issue or more as another kind of clothing. When that happens there will be connections made to the ABDL world, both the good and the bad, and how the good among us handle it will decide how it all ends up ^_^ Plus I don't expect that first opening to last long, it will be like 'metrosexuals' who made the news for a few months then faded away, but left the door to acceptance open for guys who primp and priss their appearance more than average  The 'toned down' version of ABDL will remain acceptable thereafter and it will be a boon for us :groupwave:

It will also shine light on the bad characters who wear diapers that are not allowed here, so those of us who join in the acceptance effort will need to be squeaky-clean in that regard or we will end up hurting ourselves instead of helping  I don't make the prettiest picture but I have advocacy skills and know how to take the unusual to the public- I've done that before in another shadowy world like ours here and accomplished a lot. I will not make any commitment but when that time comes I plan to do much the same as a DL, taking the openings others have created and carrying them as far along as I can toward making a permanently better world :angel_not: I will decide when and if the time for that is right because a half-century of life has shown me that timing is everything when it comes to public presentation. It's also taught me to never say never :D

I don't know about that. We seem pretty good at it, based on the current world population of 7,000,000,000+.

I tend to agree, and Bettypooh's example of the male runway model seems to support your conclusion about being more accepting of kinks in general. People used to use their hatred of gays to condemn cross-dressers, regardless of the lack of correlation between them. Once gay people started to gain mainstream acceptance (an ongoing battle, I know) things gotta little easier for cross dressers.

Our fetish still seems (wrongly) associated with pedophilia, which hopefully never gains acceptance. A small price to pay

I guess I worded it wrong. I'm talking about the huge taboo placed on it. Most countries place massive taboos on the only method of keeping us alive.

however if you have an abkingdom account there is a diaper photos section they have a few allbums called "real girls in diapers"

the "real" girls name does not mean anything about the other ones not being real it's just those ones have photos which are not ab/dl related.

unforruantely most of them are of women wearing the pullup kind of diaper, which sucks.

It's annoyingt how people who are not abdl when they have those diaper nights they buy the cheapest diaper

I have heard stories of people wearing and wetting them for fun for an evening at a party who are not abdl

but they buy the cheapest ones and they leak

if i was invited to a party by a group of my friends who don't know about my abdl side, i'd make up some story that my neigbour works at a medical supply store and ships them out of his house or something like that.. then i'd go and get good ones lol.

I've heard about a taboo on sex, but I've never experienced it. I think it's more of a perceived taboo than an actual taboo, maybe arising from a taboo about discussing sex. After all, I'll talk to my friends about sex, but I don't blog about it, and I don't talk to my Great Aunt Iris about it.

@Universitybaby23, hehe yeah I tried to convince friends and even a neighbor to try to wear diapers again (I was maybe 4 at the time) and all the neighbor lady did was call my mom and ask if it was okay :doh: . Needless to say my mom said it was absolutely not okay. So much for trying...the only other person in my family who kind of knew at the time was my older sister who just thought it was funny.

@Bettypooh, I agree exactly with your sentiments. I suppose I was looking for something that wasn't quite there yet and I probably shouldn't have tagged the original post with "acceptance" but maybe "awareness" instead. I have known some people in professional life that had to wear due to one condition or other and I don't believe anything was ever said in private that was even close to being derogatory about it. That said, I also agree that whoever represents the fetish community, as a representative of us as a whole, would need to be squeaky clean.

Back to the thread, I think there are many good posts about our community on this site and hope (wishfully) that people wanting to know more about the ABDL life who are non-abdl's will educate themselves before passing judgement. Here's to hoping one day people really will just treat think of diapers as another form of underwear. At least now there are sites like this that represent the community a lot better than sensationalized TV shows (Springer) or as fringe material for comedy routines. Not that being the butt (pun intended) of some jokes isn't truly funny at times. :P

Also it has already been posted and discussed in the "Diapers in the news forum" but at least Japan seems to be taking awareness somewhat more seriously with the advent of the diaper fashion show. Of course this show was intended to raise awareness of incontinence solutions and was not representing our community, but I have to wonder if they plan to keep doing it every year. If they do I would love to go see one. I believe Japan also has an ABDL community (they have nearly every other type of fetish community and then some) but I can't read Japanese. Hmmmm will have to play around with google translate and see if I can find more info. Will start another thread on diapers overseas if I find anything interesting.
