Anyone who even fantasises about involving minors in sexual scenarios really should seek help, in my opinion.

The sad fact of the matter is that stories like this will reinforce the negative stereotype associating our community with paedophillia. But there's very little we can do about that, as 'Man leads successful, uneventful life, has a good social circle and stable relationships, likes to wear nappies occasionally' doesn't really make for a great headline or article.

[i'd also like to take this opportunity to point out the ludicrous headline - not only does the inclusion of the nappy fetish in the headline seem somewhat spurious, a detail added solely to further sensationalise the story and make it more salacious - but the use of 'obscene' before the words 'child porn' is downright daft; is the writer suggesting that there's such a thing as a 'non-obscene child porn' film?! Plus, whilst I'm ranting, I hate the phrase 'child porn' anyway, people (especially when writing in the media) should call it exactly what it is, which is images of child sexual ABUSE. Refering to it as 'kiddie porn' or 'child porn' runs the risk of legitimising it in the minds of the abusers, or downplaying the damage that it causes to the children who are portrayed in it. The argument was should a pedophile who has been caught with kiddie porn, but hasn't hurt anybody, be offered the chance for voluntary chemical castration? Apparently it's like 95% effective (I don't recall, high 90's though) and is completely reversible with no harmful side effects. Something to think about.

As far as I know you're wrong there regarding UK law, where the possession of indecent images can be unlawful. This can include hentai, manga, anime and other artwork that the house of we're wearing our underpants on the head Lords might find unsavoury. It's more like the Nazi-german secret police finding some 'entartetes Kunst' in your loft and burn lock you up for being a supporter of 'undesirable elements'.

But all is not bad, as there are restrictions:

The last government instigated an operation against suspected paedophiles known as "Operation Ore" in which they obtained credit card numbers from an American Paedophile site and hunted down the owners. It was deemed sufficient evidence that one's credit card number had been used to subscribe - the defence that the card number may have been stolen/cloned was deemed insufficient, and the idea the site owner might have simply purchased bulk numbers on the net to boost subsciptions was laughed out of court.
