Concerts

Recommended Posts

Just curious as to what concerts everyone has been too, or wants to go to?

Living in my city sucks... 'cus no one comes here, and when I was younger my family thought it was a waste of money to go see someone live.... so I'd just get the CD, which means I wasn't able to go see concerts 'till i was old enough to go and afford it myself. :P

In the past year... I've seen....

Josh Turner

David Cook

Them Crooked Vultures

and I saw New Kids on the Block last night.

I think NKotB was the funnest outta all of them. :)

Ugh too many, but none recently :( No one I'm essentially into has toured recently and if they have I either havent had the cash or "forgot".

Mercury Rev are still the best band I've seen live.

Shame there was only about 150 people in the venue.

I wanna go see Rush, Kiss, and AC/DC...unfortunately i live in a state where the closest good venue is 2+ hours away.

I've been to a few. 3 of the most memorable:

A phish show in North Carolina at the Blockbuster Pavilion. Was a really nice show.

A phish show at Lorings Airforce Base in Maine.. that one was crazy. It was 2 days, outdoors, rain or shine, 70,000 people showed up. It was crazy.

The best show I ever went to hands down... I got the privilige of seeing SuperTramp about 5 years ago or so in Canada. I grew up on that kind of music (my mom and dad were hippies from back in the day lol). I bought tickets for me, my sister, and my parents as a treat. They were kind of worried they were gonna be a bunch of old has-beens and didn't want to remember them that way, but after the show my parents said it was the best they'd ever seen SuperTramp perform (they went to one of their shows when I was only 4 months old). It was an incredible show. The energy in the crowd was intense.

After they performed their last encore, the walked off the stage and the bass player set his bass down with it reverberating through the stadium and it was still reverberating as we walked out. It was so cool.

Ohh, how could I have forgotten ...

Another neat show I went to at a very small venue in Burlington VT was to see The Derek Trucks Band

There's a dude who can play guitar... wow wow wow.

~ASW

... He was also one of the cutest guys I have ever seen next to my Daddy, Derek Trucks is a super cutie. I was kinda smitten with him *blushes*

The problem was not my level of sobriety, but his! He was so stoned/drunk that he couldn't remember the words. One of only two concerts I have walked out on. Other was a Tim McGraw show before the Auto-tune mics were out and they were blasting the band to cover his (at that time) bad vocals and the drums were so loud it was literally changing your heartbeat to match the drumbeat. Tim is much better these days, thanks to tons of vocal training since he got huge.
