  1. My thoughts on this are if you have no choice just let it happen. If you must do it on purpose, it would be best to not call attention to yourself. Like avoid squatting, loud grunting, sticking your butt out etc. Also perhaps be making your way to a bathroom or other suitable place to change so others don't have to smell you.

I'd like to thank everyone that posted for their support and suggestions. We took diapers out of the bag and let them breath for over 24 hours to see if that would make a difference. Then I took a diaper from my diaper bag which was from the last purchase and put one from the new bag and compared them. No doubt about it they were noticeably and obviously thinner. We decided to take some pictures so I could post them here because a picture is worth 1000 words. But then I looked at the words.

We're you aware that there are different versions of Betterdry? I was completely blindsided by this. I was looking at a Birdseye view picture of the 2 diapers side by side and noticed the printing with the size and lot # etc. The thick diaper was an M10 while the thinner was an M7. We have been buying these at Amazon first and lately LLMedico because I like their service and Amazon sucks a baby bottle. We had never paid any attention other than to buy the Betterdry tab diapers. After seeing the different numbers I went to the LL Medico website and did a little digging. It seems that Betterdry has a "daytime" diaper that comes 20 to a bag in medium with M7 and daytime on the bag but also has a diaper that that doesn't say daytime and has M10 on the bag that are 15 per bag. All this time I've been getting the correct diapers for me until now.

I thought I should let everyone know that Betterdry didn't change the diapers some of us need. Somehow I bought the wrong ones. Now I just have to decide what I'm going to do with a case of diapers that don't work well for me.

    Hugs,

    Freta

I am glad you noticed this. When I first read this thread, I thought you must have purchased the Better Dry day diaper.

  3. Sorry you got harassed about this. One thing I would recommend is to do a test run with whatever swim diaper you plan to use. Probably the best place to try this is in your bathtub if you have one. Put the swim diaper on and poop in it and see what happens. Also best to heed rusty pins advice. Better to fill your diaper on the way to the restroom rather than in the pool.

  4. I have never been on a flight this long but I would not recommend a diaper like the Trest. The reason why I say this is I have worn a diaper that had close to a gallon of pee in it and it is really heavy. Do you really want to be getting off the flight at your destination wearing 10 or more pounds of diaper?

  5. Based on my experiences I would stay away from any contoured booster pad. The wider areas at the front and back tend to defeat the leak guards in the diaper and may result in leakage before capacity is reached. Rectangular booster pads work better in my opinion.

There seems to be a race in the community between ABDL diaper manufacturers to create the most absorbent diaper.

With options out there offering 11,000 ml, my question is at what point is it too much/overkill?

@clt_abdlJust curious who out there has an 11,000ml diaper?

  7. I would say if you need to use these facilities go for it. As you mentioned your use of diapers is likely for uncontrolled bowel movements. While being timely with your use is a good idea, do not sacrifice cleanliness to be fast for the next user of the room. There is likely not a huge sense of urgency unless the person has to avoid missing a flight. I would think most people in this situation would only need the room if their waste was already in their diaper.

I have diapers, onesies (which oddly cause my diapers to leak more easily - any thoughts?)

A couple of things about onesies. First if it's too tight and compressing the diaper it can reduce absorbency. Second the area between your legs may be tucking itself into the sides of your diaper which can result in a wicking leak.

  9. I agree they should not be used by or sold to someone else. As previously mentioned, these items can not be safely sterilized without the proper equipment. One should also consider the psychological factor of the use of these devices by another person. It could bring about the thought "I feel weird using this because it was inside person so and so."
