  1. People who call themselves “babies” “littles” “ babygirl” or they say age play is their kink but act disgusted or grossed out by people who do wear diapers . I understand being into age play and not liking diapers but that doesn’t make them better than people who are into diapers 🤷‍♂️

    LOL wow.

I read Gerald’s Game about 3 years after I realized I was in fact ABDL, going back and re-reading older Stephen King and subsequently later Kng novels, I have realized that about 95% of his works include at least a single mention of diapers, bed wetting, pants pissing or messing. Not implying King is ABDL, but obviously he finds anything infantilizing, horrifying

Sorry for late replies to this, but I remember something VERY simmilar to that in a Goosebumps make your own adventure. That first part in chapter 19 sounds almost exactly like something I'd write, except that he'd still be an adult, just in diapers anyway :)

Wait actually? Whats the referecne to ABDL?

Page 208, at least in the hard copy first print, “Besides, there were weirder kinks; Frieda Soames from across the street had once confessed to Jessie ( after 2 drinks before lunch and a 1/2 a bottle of wine during) that her ex husband had enjoyed being powdered and diapered.”

PS- It's been 5 months, but I was referencing tradition from Fidler on Roof.

I'm different.  I was Republican until 2008.  I voted for Bush in 2000, and wrote-in McCain in 2004.  He picked the idiot from Alaska,  PS- if Biden had any guts/brains he would picked Tammy Baldwin as VP

If Biden had any common sense left, he would step down and let someone younger try to beat Trump. At this point I don’t know what scares me more, 4 more years of Biden or 4 more years of Trump. As much as I despise him, my wallet says to vote for Trump if those are the 2 choices

I'll probably get banned for this, but having read through these posts, I feel that for balance, I have to point out that one terrorist, Bin Ladin,   financed the death of  2,977, killed on one morning.

  6. Sounds like an emotional security thing to me, which is obviously a huge part of age regression. For most of us, but not all, it’s diapers, bottles, pacifiers, onesies, and or footed pajamas that give us that sense of security from the past. It’s okay if that’s not your thing, there are a lot of age players/regressors who identify as middles. My advice is don’t stress it too much, explore and take the time to figure out who you are and what you are looking for. Oh, and welcome to DD 🥰

Yes I will get an update out tonight.   I have been busy moving my patents into assistant living this weekend. Plus I am getting ready to travel from texas to Belgium for work for six weeks this weekend.   I will be alone while there so I hope to turn over some more chapters this weekend.   Thanks for the encouragement.   I am so glad you are getting into this.   This motivates me more than anything.

Loved the update, sorry to hear about your parents, hopefully the transition went smoothly. Have fun in Belgium, lots to see and do there 👍

I was trying to describe a hurricane.  It was hard to do this from Avery's point of view.   I might revisit this chapter to see what could be done to imply that with out giving it away.

I thought you did a pretty good job of it. My first thought was hurricane, the problem is that if you don’t want to outright say hurricane, only people who have actually experienced hurricanes will get it right away.

You are right - and I was pulling this from memory... which is not perfect. Thank you for the corrections.

Re 50 Shades... It is a conversation between Christian and Anatasia in their bedroom and not the dungeon. I can't recall if Anatasia did wear a diaper, but I do recall the conversation. The whole story, and the associated film was marketed as being risque / porn etc... were there was partial exposure which would have classed the book and/or film as 18+, but as hard core porn etc which people were led to believe - not really. Looking at the book as being good literature, I really don't think so. Looking at the film as being watchable is also wrong in my opinion. I suspect that if suggestion of hard porn was not in 50 Shades, not even the book would have been published.

This was the point I was trying to make - without the hint of fetishism / porn / outside normal vanilla behavior, none of the listed episodes would be anyway memorable. This is not an attack on the makers of CSI / Grey's Anatomy or 50 Shades, but more of showing my disappointment in where these shows went by adding something for sensationilism rather than for enhancing a story line. Each would have worked without the diaper added to the story line. Maybe the last scene / few lines in the CSI King Baby episode might have been changed from

Grissom: Why not? Where would you go if you had the connections and the cash to go anywhere you wanted?
    Brass: I hear Fiji's nice.
Grissom: Eiger went further. He went all the way back to his childhood.
Brass: Yeah. I think I'd take Fiji.

...but apart from that, it didn't add to the core story of how corrupt Eiger was. All it did was try to explain Eiger's power and his fear. If this was anyway true, I doubt that Eiger's secret would have been kept.

I see similar on pay porn sites that advertise they cover ABDL interest, and when I look deeper, what is revealed is a person in a cheap pull up saying 'goo goo gaa gaa' as if that is anyway close to ABDL!

    To quote @DailyDi,

That sentiment I 100% agree with.

I absolutely agree with everything you said. It’s almost like ABDL is the new edgy cringe for TV and Hollywood, anything to make us look ridiculous and creepy. Like I said, I never read Fifty Shades, but my understanding from talking to people that had, that it was very soft porn, equivalent to what they use to air on Cinamax after hours 🤷‍♂️😂 the BBC show, Diary of a Call Girl did an episode where the main character took a job and was shocked when she got to the John’s apartment and he was dressed like a baby and wanted to be babied for the time he already paid for. I found that to be very tasteless and 1 dimensional too. I honestly can’t think of any movie or TV show that has ever been fair or kind to ABDL. Stephen King actually mentioned ABDL in Gerald’s Game in one brief paragraph and doesn’t portray it as anything other than a niche kink that some people engage in

This type of 'ABDL' for a story has been repeated by TV and Film many times

    • ER, where Christine wore a pullup to handle a long surgery
    • Fifty Shades of Grey, where Christian convinces Anatasia to wear a diaper
    • Criminal Minds, Bruce Eiger and his AB nursery etc,

    Right plot devices, wrong shows:

Christine wears an adult diaper in Grey’s Anatomy

Never seen or read Fifty Shades but I couldn’t find confirmation of that taking place anywhere

and it was CSI not criminal minds with the Bruce Eiger character, the episode was called King Baby, I believe 🤷‍♂️

You are correct that in the full meaning of that quote, but not of the author. Oscar Wilde, born in Westland Row, Dublin, Ireland in 1854 never said that phrase, however many attribute it to him. Oscar Wilde wrote in Irish, with some English translation, and that phrase does not translate from Irish to English. It would be more correct to state that Oscar Wilde would have said "Is é aithris an maidhm a thugann meánmhéid" which translates as "It is the imitation of the compliment that gives mediocrity". Wilde was bilingual being of Irish and English parents, and his first works were published in London. He also published work in Ireland in Irish, and was known for openly commenting in Irish against the then Government in Ireland. Upon his frequent visits to France and USA, he added to his work, and published some works in USA and France. His brash nature was more accepted in USA than London.

It comes from an Englishman - Charles Caleb Cotton (1780) and a book 'Many Things in a Few Words' where the phrase is 'Imitation is a kind of artless flattery', which is a copy of an earlier 1708 phrase "You should consider that Imitation is the most acceptable part of Worship, and that the Gods had much rather Mankind should Resemble, than Flatter them." by Emperor Marcus Antonius.

It is likely, though I do not have proof, that a media source of the era would have 'polished' the phrase in its publication to be ”imitation is the sincerest form of flattery that mediocrity can pay to greatness” as being from Oscar Wilde as he was respected for his work in USA before he gained the respect from both the Church and hierachy in Ireland.

P.S. Oscar Wilde, being an Irishman and similar to all Irish writers, we study in school in Ireland.

Secondly, I was using the quote of the phase as agreement to the artwork, and not as the derogatory act. Even the original author, Emperor Marcus Antonius, the intention was to accept the imitation, but not to accept flattery.

So first, not to nitpick but Oscar Wilde was an Irish-English aristocrat who grew up speaking English and learned French and German as a child. If he spoke Irish Gaelic, (which there is no proof of) he definitely didn’t write in it. By the end of the Famine there were less than 300,000 people fluent in Irish Gaelic, a number that would drop to around 17,000 by 1911. Furthermore, I have a small collection of of early Wilde books, first prints, first press, all in English. Yes you are correct about the origins of the phrase but Wilde was the one who put his dramatic flair to,  so in short, yes Oscar Wilde was in fact quoted as saying “imitation is the sincerest form of flattery that mediocrity can pay to greatness”. I am not trying to be argumentative but Oscar Wilde is near and dear to my heart, I wrote my thesis paper on him in graduate school. Also, my family is from Ireland and I spent every summer there with my aunt, which is how I was turned on to Wilde to begin with.

To quote - 'Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery' - but the misunderstood meaning of that phrase is not that copying another is flattery, more like that what you realised is the best for the demographic that you and I are aiming for is similar to what I created means that either both of us got it right or both of us got it wrong.I

That’s an Oscar Wilde quote, but it’s not the whole quote which is why people often misunderstand or misquote it out of context.

”imitation is the sincerest form of flattery that mediocrity can pay to greatness”

what he was implying was that imitation is not at all an art form but a tool of the ignorant and unimaginative people who lack insight or creativity to create anything themselves.

If we keep this up, we will both be sent to our mutual re-education camps😄  A liberal and a conservative agree with each other.  Unthinkable!  Where does it stop? (Special props if you know where I got that).

I don't think we are as far apart as the media wants us to believe.  The media is sold on rage because it's an easy sale.   I'm prone just as much as everybody else.  You hit me with a teacher story, and I'm ready to battle, and God forbid if it involves a student.

Interestingly, my dad and my stepmom (who are wonderful people) are both very conservative, yet most of their kids vote Democrat and not at all conservative.  If my dad asks why (FTR- I think he is smart enough to know why) I'm active in my union and supporting liberal causes- it's because he raised me to be selfless and think of the big picture

Pretty sure that’s from Good Omens 😂😂 I absolutely love Neil Gaimon. Like I said, I really consider myself a moderate more than a conservative. “If you’re not a liberal at 25, you are heartless, if you’re not a conservative by 35, you are mindless” (special props if you know who said that). I maintain my liberal social beliefs from my 20’s, I believe we all should have equal rights and equal opportunities, and if it doesn’t hurt anyone then you do you. All of my friends and both of my wives (ex and current, props to any man who can survive more than 1 wife at a time 🤷‍♂️😂) are either left leaning moderates or squarely left. I enjoy surrounding myself with people who have their own opinions and views, I don’t understand this modern idea that we all have to have the same opinions to be validated. I have genuinely enjoyed this discussion with you, because it didn’t digress into an angry, stubborn standoff that resulted in insults and vitriol

  14. 25 minutes ago, spark said:

The issue is too complicated to discuss here.

To bring this back to the topic, this is really an example of our addiction to rage.   Everything that Matt Walsh posts is rage porn, and it will also include the media hit piece, because the media wants to feed that rage.  FTR- that rage addiction is not just a left or right thing.   Just look at the excess attention paid to MTG, Brobert, or Paul Gosar (an absolute disgrace of a human being).   AFAIK, most of their attention comes from media meant for left-leaning people.   It's all rage porn.

It seems to me that most of the rage hits from right-wing media are people who just trying to be themselves by wearing a diaper, dressing outside of gender norms, or otherwise harmless members of the public.   The hit pieces from the left tend to be about political leaders.  The question we must ask is: Why?

I absolutely agree with you on this, as do most people, if it’s not hurting anyone and doesn’t affect “me”, then people really don’t care one way of another. The media wants us divided on these issues and others to keep us fighting amongst ourselves; that way we don’t notice when the left and the right are collectively robbing us all

This is not a place to get in a debate about minimum wage, but if you pray in church for people to get fair wages, but don't support pro-union candidates and a increasing the minimum wage, you're a hypocrite.  You're praying for it, but not following through.   It just my opinion, if you don't support workers and a fair living wage, you're may not be a hypocrite, but you're heartless.  You just don't care about poor people, and those less fortunate.  That's fine if you do, but I find it a disgusting attitude.  That's kind of the main point of the Sermon on The Mount.

I support a fair wage, meaning the wage you receive is congruent to the work you do. I don’t support minimum wage increases for several reasons but the main 1 is that a poor person making 7.50 an hour will be just as poor making 15 dollars an hour. The rich and the politicians are the only ones who benefit from it. I was born and raised poor, definitely made poor decisions that forced me to do 1 of 2 things, continue the cycle of poverty and become a burden to the system and society, or work to change things. Even in 1994 minimum wage wasn’t enough to survive off so I worked 2 full time jobs and went without a lot of basic luxuries and didn’t eat out, clipped coupons and ate as cheap as possible and I saved money wherever and whenever I could. I also worked my way up and earned raises and promotions at my jobs. Ultimately I ended up joining the military and that’s how I got my college degrees. Obviously just because this worked for me doesn’t mean it works for everyone, but there needs to be a drive and determination. We should be focusing more on how shift people in a better direction, whether it is college or trade schools, FYI Mechanics make more than doctors in some areas due to demand. But if people want a living wage doing an entry level High schooler’s job then the real issue isn’t minimum wage, it’s laziness and entitlement. Jesus himself said “ give a man a fish and he will eat for a day, teach him to fish and he will never go hungry”

The problem with the Republican Party is that far too many of the 86% have normalized the actions of the small minority.  Either by outright acceptance of open support for the minority, even if they don't actively engage in the support.   An example is from my dad's church, who prayed that people get fair wages for their labor, but I know for a fact many of those who prayed support political positions that are against minimum wage increases and are anti-union.  The actions and words don't match.  Another group is more passive and even will speak out in private, but their actions still don't change.

There was a time in my life when the Matt Walsh's of the world were relegated to park benches, and they didn't get any of the attention they so desperately needed.  Now, they get attention by feeding our rage addiction and go further and further down the rabbit hole.  This lady is just a Matt Walsh wannabe, who is just a Tucker Carlson wannabe, but she still has that same over-inflated sense of self-importance.

I think I understand what you are saying but I have to tell you, as a fiscal republican, supporting a fair wage and being opposed to minimum wage increases and being anti-union is not hypocrisy, it’s a core belief in republican economics. I don’t want to argue values or beliefs and say I am right and Democrats are wrong because the truth is both sides are partly right and partly wrong but mostly ignorant. That said, my belief is that unions are no longer necessary, they have become independent political machinations that only benefit the people in charge. As for minimum wage, I don’t believe minimum wage jobs were ever or should ever be considered a career. Too many people want to work at Taco Bell for the rest of their lives but have the lifestyle that educated people with degrees or real skills have. Now more than ever we celebrate mediocrity and shun intelligence and hard work. Working at Taco Bell is supposed to be hard with small paychecks, so that you want to have a better job. Living wage for jobs designed for high school students and college students only adds to inflation and devaluation of the money the rest of us actually work hard to earn

Why do you think it's increasing so much?

Multiple reasons, in the 70’s and 80’s there were more stay at home moms (who had the time to potty train), cloth diapers were still accounting for the majority of diaper choices for parents which required more work, and disposable diapers though extremely thick and comfortable (speaking from experience), were not capable of the absorption of 21st century diapers, (which honestly started getting to the current capacity in the early 90’s), which meant wet diapers and messy diapers felt uncomfortable. Diapers now are designed to feel dry even after several hours and multiple wettings which eliminates the association of being wet and being uncomfortable, so kids now take longer to realize that they are wet and uncomfortable. I also believe believe that the amount of screen time has turned toddlers into zombies, they are too distracted to notice they are peeing and because the diapers are so affective, by the time they recognize that they are wet, it’s been multiple wettings, which also sets back potty training. Autism is on the rise too, when I was a teenager in the early nineties, autism affected 1-456 kids, when my son was born in 1999, it was 1-156, and when I started working in developmental psychology in 2010, it was 1-92, and now it’s 1-56. This is due to a combination of things, diagnosis criteria has been changed, parents are screening their children sooner, and it’s not a stigma like ot was before. In the 70’s and 80’s when I was growing up, kids were forced to assimilate, by any means possible, (shame and corporal punishment most often), but now we have a softer approach to child rearing. My youngest is autistic (moderate to severe rating) and wasn’t potty trained until age 9, the number of times my parents and grandparents said it was because he was lazy, or we as parents were lazy was unbelievable. My mother actually suggested punishing him to get him to potty train 🙄 needless to say she was never allowed to be alone with my kids 😂😂
