  1. I have been using holey foley catheters successfully for many years. It is strictly according to mood and circumstances; two or three days a week usually. After experimenting with disposable diapers, I settled on Tena pullups, being much easier to manage. Never have I needed to restrict movement due leaks. Leaks are rare and only happen when the pullup is full. Also in old age, I seem to have overcome any binge – purge feelings. Experiments continue to make a suitable stent. In the meantime, the catheter is so easy to position. Won’t be throwing away panties anytime soon.
  2. I would really be worried about that. Is there any way you can run the retaining through the inner ball?
  3. With sufficient lube there is zero discomfort. In theory there is a greater chance of infection from the diaper. Perhaps a limit of 12 hours or so would be wise. Using a modified catheter, a holey foley, there is much less risk as the outlet is blocked and the pee passes through a hole into the urethra just beyond the outer sphincter. Should you get UTI, seek treatment early. Removing a catheter is a non event.
  4. With plenty of sterile lube, any discomfort soon disappears. Perhaps your catheter is a little big. Fr14 size works well for me. Do keep things clean. I have been using holey foley catheters for years and really enjoy them. Just now I am wearing an experimental stent. Can feel nothing, just the drips.
  5. Each to their own. I enjoy the recreational use of catheters, either modified or straight from the box.
  6. I have been using this system for years. The pain is possibly originating from that part of the urethra in contact with the hole you made in the catheter. That discomfort is felt in the tip of the penis. I have tried to smooth off the hole with a hot flame which seems to help. More often than not is seems to be the luck of the draw; just where it is sitting in the urethra.
  7. It does reduce your interest in lots of things for a bit.
  8. Works well too when using a modified catheter (holey foley) with the constant, uncontrolled dripple as lubricant together with suitable graphic material.
  9. Good luck with that! Perhaps cycling with a squishy diaper would be worse. A butt plug might help.
  10. If you wear one to bed together with a diaper, you certainly will need a good clean up in the morning.
  11. A pull up together with plastic pants seems to work for me.
  12. You sure don't want it to double up on the way in. I used a Bardia Fr14. My cut is not so neat and there is only one hole. It is made by bending the cath over the finger with the filler line on the inside (you know where that is without having to see it) and nicking it with very sharp side cutters. Some burn marks can be seen. Perhaps I was just lucky with this one as I certainly have had irritation previously.
  13. I have had one in for the last 22 hours in total comfort. That eyelet needs to be smooth. Mine responded to a hot gas flame passing over the eyelet but not burning it.
  14. Made the hole in my holey foley a bit bigger. Now it works fine all night.
  15. From my experience, one can sometimes feel the dribble. The extra hole needs to be downstream of the outer sphincter which is on the downstream side of the prostrate so that it needs to be maybe 3 or 4 inches from the balloon. The outlet of the catheter needs to be blocked with a spigot or clamp. Use lots of sterile lube.
  16. I find it helps to run a hot flame over the cut. It seems to melt the surface a little.
  17. Good on you cathdiap. My latest modified catheter is totally comfortable and works well but the enjoyment declines after about 12 hours and I need a couple of days off.
  18. I live in Australia and get mine from here without script. https://store.independenceaustralia.com/urology/catheters Don't know if they export. 1AUD = US 0.65 Good luck
  19. Sleeping in a different room solves most problems. One might be emotionally deprived but the quality of the sleep is sooooo much better.
  20. I have found larger sizes become less comfortable even though my meatus is stretched to easily accommodate 10mm diameter (30fr). For me 14fr is most comfortable, also less suction on the bladder wall after bladder drains.
  21. I use a small piece of toweling wrapped around it and held in place with an elastic band. Good for two or three minutes. Also use the same for changing diapers. The toweling is rinsed and later washed.
  22. I've had the prostate and inner sphincter removed and subsequently re-potty trained to some extent. If wearing protection, a sneeze always produces a squirt. At other times, care is needed.
  23. I frequently use a regular catheter connected to a night bag. It always works perfectly; never sleep as well. However when using a modified catheter as a stent, there are problems. I usually awake with a full bladder. More work needed on that.
