  1. If you live in a tornado area and have no good place to shelter buy a good used motorcycle helmet and a old US military flak jacket

these will protect your head and body  from a lot of injury.

I know a number of texans that live in places with no storm shelters that have these for protection from flying objects

  2. I follow the 50 mile rule.

In 98% of the places i go to over 50 miles from home its unlikely i will meet anyone i know from home.

At the VA i go to i wear and don't worry about the medical staff seeing my diapers.

Once while waiting for a urologist appointment one of the guys ask if any of wore diapers and all 3 of us said yes.

He was wanting to know where to get GOOD diapers. and i told him about Northshore and XP5000.

  3. I have done it many times and also seen wet adult diapers in the trash cans at rest stops.

I have even changed at Texas rest stops where they have no doors on the stalls

I have also taken off my wet diaper at a nude beach in the morning and put on a dry diaper in the evening when i was getting ready to leave.

At one campground in Nevada i spent 3 days in just diapers  as the only one else in the campground was a guy wearing a dress and he did not mind.

  4. Anytime you buy a stove you need to check the knobs you want the type that you push in to turn on.

This is a safety facter that can stop a number of fires.

This is also important if you own cats or dogs or have young kids.

there are kits to retrofit stoves.

as for electricial always look for any bad printing on any breakers.

and load test any new breakers you install by over loading them while testing them with a clamp on ampmeter.

i have found breakers that were only off on switchs and had no trip unit in them.

  5. I have always lived in rural areas and you need guns just to take a walk in the woods in  many states.

I am a ex federal security officer and worked in the mining industry for many years working and running gold mines.

Criminals think gold mines have gold on hand all the time. But they also know many of us are armed and very skilled.

In one area i ran a mine there were three operating mines and all the people that ran them had CCW permits.

But in that small town if you called the cops it took 45 mins for them to get there on a good day with good weather.

Funny part up there was one of the cops told me if i had to shoot a criminal to use the mines backhoe and plant them deep so he would not have to do the paperwork.

I can relate:  for some reason, when I moved back here in 2007, after living in another building for 8-9 months, we had brand new quarters.  i had problems with the main panel, and after that was found out by me, I noticed that the breakers were CONSTANTLY popping off, and were weak.  I was told that there was NOTHING wrong with the breakers, but I opened the panel and SHOWED them the bad breaker.  They said that because i was disabled, I had special breakers in my box.  My roomie (next door neighbor) has a one bedroom next ti mine, and we have had problems with power in our units.  We both had these special breakers.

I got upset because there is SUPPOSED to be a breaker that will pop off if the charge going through it is powerful enough, but the ones that were malfunctioning were not even tripped all the way.  They later found that the breakers were faulty, and replaced 4 in here, and 4 in my roomies unit.

there are many fake, counterfiet, and gray market electricial breakers out there.

back wheni worked as a electrician i found many in homes and bussnesses even in hospitals

  7. I always camped in diapers.

Most of the places i camped at were remote not campgrounds.

Many of these places i could wear just diapers and shoes they were so remote.

In one funny case i had someone camping nearby but was not worried because he spent the weekend wearing a dress.

I thought to each his own.

I get soo mad at these jerks when I go to the local Walmart, and grocery store. We really don't want to go anyplace, but we need food water etc. My wife and I are both over 62, and both in the high risk because of our health issues. And these jerks are in the store, with whole families NOT a one has a mask, running around the store, and not even keeping a 2 foot distance from us.

I have seen parents with mask and 2 or more kids running around with no mask.

I know if the kids get covid19 they will be more likely to be asymptomic and spreaders of the virus then adults.

  9. I go out and metal detecting for gold and shooting about twice a week to get fresh air and get out of the house.

I live in a rural area and the desert so I don,t have contact with anyone during these outing.

  10. I am 69 so i stay at home except for shopping for food and taking drives into the desert to target shoot just to get fresh air and sunlight.

No hand sanitizers  left here so i use hydrogen peroxide between stores and what little hand sanitizers i have left before i go into the house.

I also take off what i was wearing and put it in a trash bag and run my ozone cpap cleaner into the bag to kill any viruses.

If covid19 hits my town i will break out my old EMT medical resperator  and surgical gloves for shopping.

Just waiting for 100 degree days and less than  10% humidity. Viruses have a very hard time surviving summer in the desert..

  11. I had severe acid reflux for about 5 years.

Then i had a heart attack and 5 way bypass surgery and have not had any problem with acid reflux since.

the doctors doing the bypass surgery did something that cured the reflux but i would not want to do it again.

Likely i had a hiatal hernia and that was what was causing the acid reflux and opening my chest and moving everything around moved things back in place.

Wow, I can't believe they let you drive.  I wasn't allowed to even ride in the front seat for a month.   They were afraid if I was in an accident, an air bag hit could kill me.  Considering my sternum was not healed.

They never asked how i got to the VA hospital and i never volunteered that i drove there.

  13. " But I guarantee you there is NO better place to get your chest cracked in Ohio--than Riverside Methodist Hospital in Columbus! "

i had my 5 way bypass done at the west LA VA hospital in 2006 and it was done by one of their teaching doctors from UCLA

i drove myself 150 miles home 7 days later.

Three months ago i had a stent put in one of the bypass veins that had a 80% block after 13 years.

i knew something was wrong when my heart started skipping beats and would slow down to 31 BPM and went in to get a heart checkup and after 3 days of testing they did Heart-Cath and found the blockage.

the strange thing was i did a stress test on a tread mill and the blockage did not cause any problems.

and they did a CT MYOCARDIAL PET STUDIES REST AND STRESS and a SPECT MYOCARDIAL IMAGING
