  1. The older style Certainty with the blue "X" patterns on the tabs and Members Mark were the same thing. I don't know if Members Mark changed to the same style as the new Certaintys with plain white tbs. Either way, neither have standing leak guards, so I am trying to find something that is the same as the Certaintys but with standing leak guards.
  2. I have been using the Walgreens Certainty cloth backed. I have tried the old and new style. My preference is a little more toward the older style as the fit for me was a little better. They are not very absorbent but a booster fixes that. Price is good and they are a little wider in the crotch which helps get a great fit every time. Since supplies are low, I was thinking that the only thing that would make the Certainty even better would be inside standing leak guards. I have been looking (no easy task) for something that is cloth backed, hook and loop fasteners with standing leak guards and not too pricey. I found the Medline Fit Right lineup. I bought a bag of Restores. They are cloth backed, hook and loop fasteners with standing leak guards. I had high hopes, but was let down on the first fitting. They are narrow in the crotch. The wings have no contour, just straight rectangles coming straight in on the top of the diaper (like a stretch diaper nut these do not stretch). Worst of all, the hook and loop fasteners become unhooked (like a tape tab that slips back if it loses grip on plastic) if put on too tight. The gap in the front and back below the rectangular wing is hard remove. Tighten the fastener to try to remove the gaps, then the fastener pops back from being too tight. So, I know these are not what I am looking for. Anybody have any suggestions on replacing the Certainty / Members Mark diapers with something nearly identical, but with standing leak guards? I don't know why but standing leak guards on cloth backed diapers seems to be a rarity to me.
  3. I'm sure this is too late but I thought I'd throw this out there. There is a grocery store called Cora in Bagneux (one town South of Paris) on General Aristide Briand (I'm sure this is mis-spelled). They have a store brand called Changes Compleat. I could not believe how good they were for a store brand. Plastic backing but felt more like PE like a Molicare.
  4. I believe you have a great Attends over there too. I believe in the UK, they are called Attends Special Care 10.
  5. I too am a Prevail fan. Their low end (perfit, Nufit, IB, IBF) are not that great but I really find a great value in the Breezers product. Breezers are one step down from the PM (also cloth backed/velcro which can be reapplied over and over and still stick well). Usually the Breezers are priced considerably cheaper than the PM. You may want to try both. Breezers do have the problem of tabs coming off. A couple of staples in them (prongs facing outward) keep them from coming off.
  6. Can you give some more details on these? I think these have gone through a design change and nobody has reviewed the new style. The old adjustables were very brief-like. You could not pull them up like underwear, instead they went on like a brief with one big velcro on each side. I think the new style is very much like normal protective underwear that pull up but also have one single big velcro on each side for fastening. Am I right?
  7. I have just tried a sample of the breezers. I then bought a case. I was looking for something breathable and these work well. I have tried Medline Comfort Aire before these and I did not like those (leak out the front sides too easily). The Breezers do have a stay dry strip and I am very happy with their absorbency. I'm sure the overnights are better, but wow they are expensive. Breezers from amazon are priced great. Breezers hold about 3 to 4 big pees and as all cloth like types, need to be on tight. Sometimes a tab will pull off the back but since it is velco-like, you can use the tab to hold on tot he front and back half and half with the tab that came off. They also come in size R which is perfect for me as usually M is too small and L and too big.
  8. They are called Members Mark. Try searching on that. The velcro tabs can rip off if they are put on tight. They absorb about the same as a Depend Max Protection. They don't swell really as they are mostly all pulp with little to no gel. I find it takes too much time because of cutting 8 inch strips of duct tape in half and applying to reinforce the velcro tabs to make sure the tab doesn't separate from the back. These are exactly the same as the Walgreens new cloth-like product, but a much better deal at Sams.
  9. I do not think I am way off the mark, I just omitted much in the effort to save time. 1. In my opinion Pampers making a size 7 has nothing to do with childhood obesity. Even if this was a topic on a daytime TV show, I do not believe obesity is common in kids 4 years old and younger. If it is, could someone please point me to the research? 2. I agree there is no such thing as "Childhood Autism". You are or you are not, plain and simple. The term was used because if you do research on the subject, the term is used and will find plenty of research from various autism awareness groups out there. I disagree about the mercury, thimerisol, although it may not cause Autism, heavy metal poisioning of the body is not good. Add a new one to the list - DU Depleted Uranium. This heavy metal will be found in many bodies in years to come as it is used in bunker busting weapons. 3. I'll check it out. My son has SID and I was told it was in the ASD. I'll have to see how you classify it. 4. Sorry if the word epidemic struck a nerve. It was being used to relate to the number of diagnosis going up year after year. I can relate personal experience here. Pampers made a size 7 to fill a market need. There are more kids in this day and age that have special needs than ever before. My son grew out of Pampers size 6. He is potty trained since 3 years old but wakes up wet every morning. He just turned 5 last month. At about 4 years old. we had to switch to cloth because pampers size 6 no longer fit. My son goes to special education Kindergarten. There is K4 and K5 then kindergarten. When I went to school 30 years ago, there was no such thing as these special needs K4, K5 or generally termed pre-K. These classes did not exist period! There was kindergarten, then 1st grade. Now same town 30 years later and my son is in a special pre-K class with 9 other students. There is another class of 10 students. Compare this to our small town highschool that graduates 100 students a year. These special needs kids (VERY HIGH FUNCTIONING I may add) at 20 for the two classes represents 20% of our school system, maybe 12 to 15 depending on our dropout rate. I look forward to chatting on your other board thread when I find time.
  10. I agree with Di. Have you seen the statistics on childhood Autism? The rates are skyrocketing. Not only Autism, but there are even more children in the Autism Spectrum Disorder. This is where ADHD, Sensory Integration Disorders, etc. fit in. Childhood Autism is becoming an epidemic, try a websearch on it and you can see some facts that the medical/pharmacutical industries do not want to comment on.
  11. Don't leave us hanging man. I need another fix. restlessfox, please come back.
  12. Its roughly 2 to 1. So in USD tiger found these at about $5.00 a pack instead of a normal price of roughly $9.00. How many are in a pack?
  13. Wow the picture on the left is the exact same print on GoodNites here in the US. My son's last case of GoodNites was expensive. I think it was around $22.00 for 40 and that was at a warehouse club. These things are not cheap here.
  14. I know its been mentioned they do not leak, but they all leak eventually. I'm curious to know how much they can hold. I don't think there is a single review of the plastic backed or the cloth-like ones in the Reviews section here.
  15. You have a very good point there. For $20.00 you can't go worng. Thank you
  16. B4You, Thickness-wise and absorbancy-wise, what would these compare to? Thanks so far for your input, I'm really interested in trying these.
  17. I am interested in getting a Sams Club membership just to try the Members Mark diapers. I hear they are coming with a cloth-like cover now which I don't mind. I have some questions for those who have tried these. What I am really trying to figure out is if these diapers are really great, or just "great for the price". 1. Are the cloth backed ones going to replace the plastic backed ones? 2. Which is more absorbant the plastic backed or the cloth backed ones? 3. Absorbency-wise and thickness-wise what other brands would you compare these to? 4. On the cloth backed ones, do they have two velcros per side? I tried the Kendall HL - not bad but with one velcro on each side it was tough to get the fitting right.
  18. That is great and they sound really comfortable. I am trying to justify getting a membership just to try these so I have a few questions. 1. On the Sams website, how can you tell the plastic backed from the cloth backed? Do you have an SKU or something? 2. Absorbency-wise and thickness-wise what other brands would you compare these to? 3. Do they have two velcros per side? I tried the Kendall HL - not bad but with one velcro on each side it was tough to get the fitting right. I have seen it posted elsewhere that someone thought these were made by First Quality. To my knowledge First Quality does not have any cloth backed diapers with velcro fasteners and instead use tapes and a frontal tape panel. I haven't seen any reviews on these yet. I have also heard good things about the plastic ones at Sams too. I can't tell if they are "good" or just "good for their price".
  19. Kid: I actually started with Nullo mainly to get rid of bad breath and feet odor. The bonus would be for pee and poop that doesn't smell. It worked good. The green poop was still surprising even though it was expected. Me being in to supplements have found the same ingredients in a supplement for a maker I really trust. All you need is Chlorolphyll 100mg twice a day. I found Now Foods Chlorophyll (catalog number 2645). I have tried it for a week and I am impressed. Smells for body odor are a little better, poop smell is about the same (doesn't take all the smell away) and my breath is great. The biggest bonus is no green poop anymore, better ingredients and cheaper. Total Health Discount Vitiamins sells this online for 90 caps at about $6.00 a bottle.
  20. Yes. I remember my father getting me ready for bed. I must have been about 3 or 4 and was only wearing at night at that time. I guess I remember it very well because my dad worked second shift and wasn't around at my bedtime most nights of the week. So this must have been a weekend. I remember having to coach him on how it went on.
  21. LOL RMS, You are not alone there. I am the youngest which I always thought was weird and that the oldest (or children with younger siblings) would be AB/DL more often. Just a hunch of mine. I too have been called "The baby" by my parents and the last time they did it was probably less than a year ago. Hey Floaty, that is a cute pic. Is it a CareBear floaty?
  22. "That is not normal, at least not in our society" LOL. Have you told that to yourself too? I know I have. The sense of security in it for me really can melt the stress. You are not alone. I'm curious what is the K? Oh, I just figured it out. Beautiful road! I myself was lucky enough to visit that area twice this summer and four times to Maine (twice on business, there is nothing sweeter than expensed lobster!)
  23. I am curious if birth order has anything to do with why some people become AB/DL? I wonder if there is anything to this: Example, older child of two being jealous of the attention the baby gets or the fact that the older child is just older and the babie's diapers are everywhere in the house. Has this maybe effected any of you? I just know when I hear an expert say "It stems from abuse in the home when the person was young" it gets me mad. This may be why some are an AB/DL but I don't think it is a very big percentage at all.
  24. I'm 35 now and remember the experience very clearly. I was about 3 or 4 and out of diapers even overnight. I was going to bed and my mother checked my PJs and found some stains on the backside. I didn't have to go or anything. I must have been a bad wiper. My mother took me into the kitchen, took off my bottoms and cleaned me up. She probably asked three times if I needed to go while cleaning me up, but I really didn't have to go. She went to my room to get another pair of PJs. She came back with the PJs and a Pampers Size L (it was the 70's. Remember the purple Size L cardboard box?). I saw the diaper and was stunned, shocked and speechless. I was a big boy and didn't need it. Only babies wear those. My mother said "I'm going to put this on you to make sure you don't dirty another pair of PJs". I couldn't say anything besides, its not good to argue when your pants are off. She seemed mad about the PJs and there was no way out. She put it on, (I thought it wasn't going to fit anyway and I'd dodge this bullet - wrong, it fit but tight) she put on my PJs and sent me to bed. I could not sleep there was this, this, this foreign thing on me that was strangling my legs. I thought if I took it off myself I would be in BIG trouble. Here I am wide awake trying to find a way out of this punishment or was it a precaution? I was trying to outsmart a parent which in retrospect doesn't really exist. If I tried hard I could have probably pooped, but then what? My Mom would have been right to put this thing on me... not good. I don't need this, only babies wear these. My brilliant plan was to wet this thing, it was my only way out even if only temporary but a chance to get out of it completely. So I peed, thinking it would run down my legs. Whoa, the thing really worked! The pee disappeared somewhere. I got out of bed and told my Mom that I was wet. She took off the diaper and quickly checked for a poop stain. None there. She then put my PJs back on me without a new diaper and sent me to bed. I was free at last and my plan worked. For, hmm, I don't know how many years I hated diapers because of that experience. Sometime maybe around 10 or 12 that started to change? I don't really know. How that turned in to a love I have no idea. I actually need them at night now but I don't complain as I really like them. True story, I swear. Great topic. I really get mad when I hear an "expert" say that people like us are the way we are because of abuse. Not in my case. No abuse where I grew up and a very loving and normal family.
  25. I am using the Super Plus as my night diaper of choice. I was using the ATN's but the Super Plus can hold more than the ATN. The ATNs are great for comfort but could use a wider crotch. The Super Plus is one down from the Premium but a major drop in price too. I have reviewed the Super Plus and gave them a rave review. medriteonline.com and eldermedicalsupply.com sell a wider range of MCL products. The Super Plus is about 10 cents cheaper than the ATN per diaper minus shipping. Mega Careline products are only available online but I have heard from someone who works for MCL that they are looking to sell retail starting on the East Coast soon. They are also looking in to an East Coast warehouse as they only have a West Coast warehouse currently.
