I don't think you can go wrong doing a sampler pack. I bet you will love the Abena. Try the Molicare and the Dry24/7 too.

No luck on tubing brand #2... Too thin and keeps tearing. I think there must be a magic combo....

I bet it is a difference in the wall thickness of the tubing then. I'm going to try a different tubing and see if that works.

I got the ferrules in the tube, but not in me. They are quite literally just a bit larger than I can handle. I normally use an 18fr cath, and can fit a 20fr with a little work, but I think this ends up being thicker than that at the ferrules.

Well I got one built, but the ferrule in the tubing is just a bit bigger than I can insert. I tried two lubes and wasn't able to get either one to insert. I'm very disappointed.

Yes they are plastic, with a huge tape landing zone. But they are very quiet.

I've found that using the right lube can make all the difference in how comfortable it is to insert. Spend the $10 and buy the Muko jelly, you'll be glad you did. I bought the box of individual packets as that way every time I have a sterile lube. And as mentioned in other threads, it *IS* possible to use too much lube. Using the packets is great - there's almost no way to use too much as one packet will be exactly the right amount to coat the insertion length.

I've been trying to do this new design, but I can't seem to get the air line to stretch enough to pull it over the ferrules. It gets nice and soft in the almost boiling water, but I don't seem to get it quite right. Could you maybe post a link to the air line you used, and a pic of the forceps you used? I'm thinking it is possible I have the wrong type or air line and maybe I need different forceps. Thanks for the great invention, I can't wait to get mine finished!

I used six large bananas cut in half, but find 2-3 works better. If you use too many, you just won't be able to hold it in.

As someone with ADD, I can relate.

I guess I should have mentioned this happens with intermittent caths too....

I'm having a weird issue where the bladder sphincter will clamp down tight around the eyes of the catheter when I'm trying to remove it.

So tonight I took some inspiration from this thread and modified a foley today.

I've gone through four diapers already, and it's only been 8 hours.

It's so awesome, my M4 is swelling up and I don't feel a thing....

Picked up the foleys, and just put one in... and it went in like a charm, works like a dream.

I should also say, what started my interest in being cath'd was a trip to the hospital where they had me on one for a week.
