  1. Same here, and same here. It boggles my mind that I could be in the middle of a size range, yet the tapes tell me there's no f***ing way anyone at the big end of that range is getting this thing on without a garter belt.
  2. Well, then we're into that Fabine territory, where we've gone from the ridiculous to the sublime. Knowing what manufacturers charge for extra SAP, never mind extra pulp, I can't imagine how much per unit it'd cost to basically have cloth-diaper thickness in a disposable.
  3. $3 per unit for a diaper that's almost cute until you see the website address splattered across the landing zone is a dealbreaker for me. I'm not interested in being anyone's billboard, even if only in my own bedroom.
  4. Well, the more answers I get, the more I realize how much of a moving target this is, and how unlikely this company's chances are of hitting a mark that is different enough from the other ABDL products on the market, but still able to hit enough of them to move units.
  5. Not really. Twain attributed it to him, but it's more likely a spin on the quote attributed to Sir Charles Wentworth Dilke: "False statements might be arranged according to their degree under three heads, fibs, lies, and statistics" in an 1891 British newspaper.
  6. A recent study demonstrated that 84.36% of all statistics are made up on the spot!
  7. If an alarmist website cited 2.3% here and 15% in Europe, what does that make the OP, claiming 30% worldwide?
  8. The more ashamed you act when telling someone about it, the more negative their initial response will be, particularly when it's your partner. If you act like diapers are this hideous secret that is shameful and embarassing, they will tend to respond to it as such.
  9. Wicking also generally refers to moisture pulling from front to back - there are some diapers (Abena "4" comes immediately to mind) that do an exceptional job of wicking front-to-back so that all the available absorbency is used efficiently.
  10. 1/2/3, if combined, would equal a 6-figure-plus outlay just to be able to stock them. You're talking 4 sizes x 2 colors x 2 thicknesses x 30K units per size/color/thickness = initial purchase of half a million units just to have stock in all the options - all in the hopes that they would move quickly enough to pay off the loan one would have to take to buy that much initial stock... It's a great goal to reach for, but not something that could reasonably be met by an initial launch. That said, a recurrent theme I'm hearing is (essentially) a broader fluff pad, one that covered everywhere, not just the "down the middle" section - this is good stuff.
  11. I call bullshit again, since there is exactly such a discussion going on at ADISC.org, and has been for at least two weeks.
  12. 1) I call bullshit on that number. Show me at least one reliable source and I may reconsider. 2) Even if you can provide said source, do you seriously think the AB/DL community is responsible for more than a fraction of a percent of that amount, considering how many actual infants (the largest consumer by far, I've no doubt) and incontinent seniors there are out there?
  13. So you're a plain white guy, or white with some tasteful graphic additions guy?
  14. Good thoughts. Peanut - following Zeus' suggestions (boy/girl print options), would you be into a blue one with prints?
  15. I've been led into an opportunity to invest in an up and coming AB-targeted company, but where my money goes, there also goes my influence, and I tend to like to get a feel for how close the intended products are to the customer's wants. So I'm curious: 1) Absorbency is obviously a big deal with diaper fans. How much is enough? Would something that could beat an Abena M4 get you excited? 2) Colors/prints - obviously if the thing looks creepy, it's a turnoff, so any graphics would have to be tasteful. I've also heard a number of people indicate that a pink disposable would be a dream come true for them. Problem there is, we'd have to commit to that - are there enough users out there that would want a pink diaper to overcome the fact that a lot WOULDN'T? 3) Price. This is a big, big issue for everyone. What kind of price point would a company have to hit (with the above criteria in mind) for you to be willing to buy? I know the average for premium adult diapers is around $1.30-$1.50 apiece at case pricing, depending on the retailer, and ABU and Bambino both pretty well hit this number. Beyond that, feel free to throw in random ideas and suggestions. Note: Don't even bother with pullups. OEM manufacturers expect an order of at least 30-40K units per size, and we all pretty much know adult pullups suck because there aren't enough sizes. No way a startup can generate enough up-front capital to do pullups right, as opposed to just offering the same old crap you can buy off the store shelves, only with cute prints on them. Thanks in advance for your thoughts.
  16. You might have a case if they were continuing to support pedophile sites.
  17. I was most annoyed when ABU dropped this bombshell regarding the gallon diaper from Germany after leading us along promising a new overnight diaper. $3 per unit is NOT worth any amount of absorbency, particularly not on a diaper that looks all bright and colorful and playful until you notice the huge website address splattered across the landing zone.
  18. Frankly, I see this as a bait-and-switch by ABU. They had an active link (http://www.abuniverse.com/products/abu-eto.asp) hyping their "coming soon" super absorbent overnight diaper for MONTHS, and then they drop this pre-order for an obscenely overpriced piece of crap with the manufacturer's website splattered across the front. Nah, no thanks ABU. The half-case of SDK's I just ordered? Probably going to be the last thing I buy from you. This was pretty much the last straw.
  19. Definitely get a referral - and ask the neuro doc about a prophylaxis medication for migraines, like Topamax (a very common migraine prophylactic med) or gabapentin (stronger, but more loopy side effects)
  20. If you're willing to go to the trouble, there's nothing wrong with burying the innards of a used diaper - the plastic outside is what you want to take with you and dispose of properly. The fiber fill will degrade on its own - hell, the nitrogen will enrich the soil. Of course, not everyone has the stomach to actually dismantle a used diaper in such a fashion...
  21. I've been a nearly obsessive fan of that crew since they first started. Hilarious - and quite the arranging skills, I might add.
  22. FYP. B&B jumped the shark after the first episode.
  23. I don't post pics online because, quite frankly, this is something me and my wife enjoy - it's private. Taking a picture even of my bottom half while padded is, to me, the same as taking a headless pic of my wife and I getting it on. Not something I'm inclined to do...
  24. Pretty much the reason I don't post much here other than in the actual product discussions. I find the fappers repulsive (and, quite frankly, they behave more like corprophiles than AB's or DL's), and I don't really have much interest in the heavy roleplay either. That said, the nature of a message board is that it brings together people with a commonality, and that commonality typically dominates the conversation. Musician forums are dominated by discussion of instruments, performances, other musicians, etc. Financial forums are dominated by discussion of finance. Hence, it's not surprising that an AB/DL forum is dominated by discussion of diapers and all things related to AB/DL.
