  2. Who did you order them from? If they came out of my stock (from Care Down There), all I need is a picture and you get every defect credited off your next order. If you got them from XP or direct from Dry Care then you'll have to contact them, I don't know what their policies are. Defects are not cool. What good is three tapes? Sarcasm, I know... I wish there was a way to open the packages and inspect them before they went out, but most people wouldn't want open packages...
  3. USPS from XP would probably would be cheaper, I would hope with the US shipping more mail they would likely have better rates.
  4. I received a query on shipping prices to the UK, so I thought I'd share what I looked up. Prices are in CAD, delivery via Canada Post - International Surface Mail with tracking and $100 insurance. For Medium size (for large the full case is taller, same for others) Samples (Qty 6) - $ 45.17 CAD (ships as 2.96 cubed Kg) Bag (Qty 18) - $ 80.05 CAD (ships as 6.56 cubed Kg) Half (Qty 36) - $ 98.18 CAD (ships as 10.47 cubed Kg) Full (Qty 72) - $ 131.83 CAD (ships as 17.18 cubed Kg) This was based on a London address. If anyone is interested in shipping to the UK, please contact me directly by E-mail (see my sig) as the online store will not accept overseas ordering. Cheers!

  8. Hi folks, just a quick status note. 1. We noticed tonight that our ground shipping rate on sample packs was messed up. The length/width/height were in the wrong boxes and Canada Post was giving estimates based on a package that was 32 cm tall instead of long. If you've looked at getting samples recently and wondered why it wanted to bilk you for $20+ in shipping, well, my bad, I've learned to read. Please try again. 2. We have no stock issues, so you can order knowing your shipment will leave on the next business day. 3. We're shipping in the morning which means as long as you get your order in by dinner time the day before, you won't miss out and have to wait an extra day. 4. We are still looking for a way to facilitate pickups in Edmonton without causing the price to inflate. Retail stores obviously want to take a cut of the price, and we cannot afford this without passing the cost along. We've talked to a few and it is just not feasible for them to eat their storage/shelf space. That said, I am open to delivering group orders to one place without extra cost, such as the ABDL meetups in Edmonton. (I've signed up on the forum, but I still await someone to approve me.) With the business being home-based and located outside Edmonton, it's not possible to organize pickups from the "warehouse" as it were. We work full-time so no one is home anyways. If anyone has a tangible thought to help solve this issue, I'm all ears. Until then, we'll have to stick with the Canada Post shipping. Honestly, if we were to stick these in a retail store, it would end up costing you more with the markup and the gas to go get them than it does to have them dropped at your door by the PO. I'm going to poke my CP rep and see if they will push me to the next pricing tier as well. Cheers everyone!

Well, I can't confirm or deny their manufacturing location as I'm not involved or privvy to those specifics, but I can confirm that on the retail end of things they most certainly do have a warehouse and office in Brooklyn, as I've spoken to them several times to this office to arrange for my own deliveries. This is where the US orders purchased from Dry Care directly ship out from. Is it a shell owned by a company overseas? Who knows. I'm Canadian, I can't judge American accents, so I have no idea who's on the other end of the phone. The customer experiences that I've gotten so far are pretty much one end or the other -- you either love them or you hate them. There isn't much of a middle ground. All this talk about high prices and disappointment during the holidays is a bummer, so to try and cheer it up I've gone ahead and put my full cases on sale for $99 this weekend. I'd like to see more people get their hands on these and give them the opportunity to make their own judgments, good or bad. If there is problems, then more voices to Dry Care will get them resolved. (That's how it's supposed to work, right? Vote with you feet and all that...) Now I'm gonna confuse you even more with my sale
  10. Dry Care is based in Brooklyn as mentioned above. They manufacture overseas and ship to the US and Canada. I'm not sure what they're doing with their prices, but I know mine are set that after the cost of the product and transportation (which in itself amounts to almost $23 PER CASE), my margins are around $10 a case. This isn't even enough to rent a proper warehouse or hire a grunt, which is why I have 250 cases stacked up in my basement. Dry Care isn't helping me out either by not updating their website to say they actually do ship in Canada... that hampers business pretty bad since most people will go straight to XP without even knowing I exist. Nothing against XP, but if you're in Canada, why would you pay more and deal with customs and a longer shipping wait when you don't have to. They need to get their act together soon on several fronts (Dry Care, not XP) - fortunately I have not seen myself nor heard complaints from any of my customers regarding quality issues, but as the saying goes, only 1 in 10 people actually complain.

    Just looking back at my intro thread... it's been almost a year since I started the ball rolling on this business, and five months since I joined here! I bet some of you were starting to wonder if we'd ever open to the public. But now I have over 20,000 diapers in my possession, and I'm ready to decide which brand to stock next. I need a better screen name though. This one is too un-personal.

  14. Samples are up in the store. They are $5 for 2 and have a fixed shipping cost of $5 + GST, for a total of $10.25. Due to the size of the sample pack, they are still considered a parcel therefore the shipping is over $10-$12, so I'm eating 1/2-2/3 of the shipping on sample packs so you can get a feel for them before ordering full cases. Samples ship in a plain brown padded envelope. Cheers

  17. I personally haven't seen any of the old colored ones, so I can't answer questions regarding comparison. Only thing I can suggest is get samples and decide for yourself. Dry Care claims their thicker top sheet negates the need for the acquisition layer.
  18. Not quite true. XP doesn't receive a 'special' batch, we carry the same product. Let's do a full summary here because Dry Care has created a bit of confusion with all the different sizes and colors. Dry 24/7 came out originally in Medium, and Large. The Medium was Blue, the Large was Peach. Life was great. Woo. Then their website went down for awhile. During the downtime Dry Care was busy re-tooling their product line to make new briefs. The website comes back up and now Dry Care has three products... Small This is the OLD tooled Medium, in Blue. It has an acquisition layer. It is only available from Dry Care directly because it is the old tool stock. It does NOT have a corresponding new tooled product, and will sell until it is gone. They have not decided yet if they or will not make a new re-tooled white small brief. Medium This is a BRAND NEW tooled Medium, in White. It does NOT have an acquisition layer. It doesn't matter who you order from, since the Medium is the new product it is all white across the board. XP Med, CDTMS, Dry Care .. Medium is the same across the board. Large This is where it gets confusing. If you order Large from Dry Care, you will get the OLD Peach product with the acquisition layer. If you order from XP Med or CDTMS, you will get the NEW White product without the acquisition layer. Why? Because Dry Care has old stock to sell, and until it's gone, you won't get the new White from Dry Care. On top of this, XP Med has currently SOLD OUT of the White large, and has brought in some of the older Peach from Dry Care to fill the order gap. So there is currently FOUR different products floating around. A small (old medium) blue. A medium white. A large peach. A large white. When all the dust settles down, there will be a Medium White and a Large White and that's how it will probably stay unless Dry Care tools up the small into the new product, but they need more demand for it first. Hope that made sense for everyone.

  20. Yes, as I posted just above, we're switching to Canada Post. My rep claims they are processing my agreement this afternoon and as soon as I get it the website goes live with CP shipping.
  21. Updates... Purolator is so done. Overcharging and misdelivering... and it just doesn't work for residential shipments. Canada Post is writing me up a commercial agreement and I'll be getting the contract either Friday or Monday. Huzzah. The website designer is also so done. Two months without an online store, I've hit my limit. Recently I made a purchase at another online store and I liked their cart software so much I went and got a licence for the same one. It's awesomely simple to setup and use, so that's what we're going with. The online store is ready to open BUT I need the Canada Post agreement number to plug into it to make the shipping work. So look for another announcement sometime between Friday and Monday to the store opening and the website URL. This also means free sample shipping is also over. We sent out quite a few with mixed comments, some like, some love, some hate. We'll have sample packs available for purchase in the store. Cheers

  23. Working on changing IP addresses slowly this week. There is now a toll-free number available - 1-877-877-6797. The phone gets answered between 10 AM and 6 PM Mountain time. If for some reason you get the machine, please leave a message, it means I'm driving and I don't drive on snow and ice and talk on the phone -- it's also illegal in some of the counties. I will get back to you, or you can try calling back a bit later. If you leave a time you can be reached I phone after hours as well.
  24. Hi Necros, I am the Canadian distributor for Dry Care. They haven't updated their website yet because our website is not ready. I've asked them to put a note saying "Canada shipping available soon" or something but as you can see that hasn't happened. Please check out my thread in the Diaper Store forum for all the information!
  25. I can tell you that Unique Wellness and Dry Care are not made by the same factory. Not even the same continent. When I was researching what to first bring in I spoke to both owners and part of the deal breaker was their ability to ship and from where. Dry Care comes from a country that has a free trade agreement with Canada, thus no duty. Unique Wellness was quoted to me to come from a possibility of three different, other countries. I couldn't make a deal based on not knowing where the next boat might come from thus no assurance on freight costs. Not to say that the factory that produces Dry Care doesn't produce something else -- I'm sure they do, in fact how would they stay in business if they didn't -- but it isn't Unique Wellness.
