I am a 68 year old man and a fairly recent inductee into the world of adult disposable underwear (ADU or diapers). I have urgency incontinence and was embarrassed the first time I purchased ADU. I have come to accept that my problem is, at least in part, a part of the aging process and I don't want to take more medicine to control my bladder or prostate. ADU solve the problem and I no longer am embarrassed to buy ADU, any more than I would be embarrassed to buy any other health aid that I might need. I also find them a logical choice for travelers who may find that public restrooms are unsanitary or just inconvenient. I wish more people would come out of the closet about their diaper-wearing, so that it would become more acceptable in today's society.

The entire story posted by iminpampers seems a bit implausible to me, but I guess you had to be there and I wasn't.

Most of you people are obviously not speaking from experience. I tend toward constipation, so I love to give and receive enemas. I especially like urine, castile soap, salt water, coffee, Coke, or milk enemas. Coffee, Coke, and milk enemas are not much different from ordinary clear or soapy water enemas. Coke, unless allowed to defizz, will produce quite a bit of gas. One of the Coke enemas I gave myself contained rum and it quickly gives one a buzz. You have to be very careful with alcohol enemas because once inside you the alcohol is absorbed very quickly and too much can cause alcohol poisoning and death. Your alcohol absorption rate is much more difficult to regulate, so this type of enema can be very dangerous. Urine enemas are similar to salt water enemas. What works even better as a colon cleanser is drinking your own urine. In the morning, I usually can fill a 16 oz. glass full of urine. By drinking my strong morning urine, I usually really have to poop at about 9 to 10 a.m. As to giving myself an enema, although I have the standard enema bag and tubes, I prefer to use a Water-Pik device. I have removed the pointed curved end. I fill the container with whichever liquid I intend to use for my enema, insert the tip in my anus, and turn on the device while sitting on the toilet. Usually I can hold 3 or 4 containers full of liquid before becoming very uncomfortable and having to release it all.

When I was about 12, our house was heated by an oil stove. My job was to fill the oil tank on the stove from a spigot run through the wall connected to a large tank behind our house. It usually took several minutes to fill the stove tank and sometimes I would get sidetracked and forget it was running. One time I really forgot and the oil soaked our rug and covered half of the living room floor. It also stunk up the house for days. Needless to say, my parents were less than happy with me for quite a while.

I hate to feel dumb, but what does OP stand for?

After several peeing and pooping accidents in my shorts (summer) and sweatpants (winter) while walking, I have begun to wear Depends or Tena pull-ups on my walks. I used to walk 4 - 5 miles per day in an area where houses and/or people were plentiful, but restrooms were non-existent. It is pretty embarrassing to get diarrhea or pee yourself while out walking, especially when you have no underwear on and it runs down your legs.

I enjoy wetting my diaper in all of the places mentioned above, but I also enjoy it while talking to my neighbors and while riding my lawn tractor.

I am a DL and I really don't understand the fascination with acting like a baby. Therefore, I understand why people don't get my fascination with urine and feces. I don't understand it myself. I tend to be very logical in most of my thinking and don't understand why I have the fetishes that I do. To me, being a DL is a very logical activity. I have urge incontinence. If a toilet is not within 15 to 20 feet away, I probably won't make it, so I wear diapers (pull-ups), which prefer to call ADUs (adult disposable underwear). When I'm shopping, especially in large stores like Sam's, Wal-Mart, Home Depot, Lowe's, etc., I don't have to worry about finding a restroom or being able to make it to the restroom, if it is clear across the store. I've only been wearing for about 3 years, but I think wearing ADU would relieve much of the discomfort of long drives, so I'm looking forward to taking my next driving vacation. Quite honestly, the female astronaut who drove across Florida wearing a diaper a few years ago gave me the idea. My wife has become accustomed to my ADU, so I no longer feel embarrassed to buy them or wear them. I wear them for protection and to give me confidence when I'm out in public. If I don't wet them, I use them again the next day. If I do wet them, I keep wetting them until they are soaked. There is no sense in wasting a partially soaked diaper.

Lostindiapers, I checked the website for Unique Wellness briefs and they are latex free. They are really worth a try.

I don't know whether or not they are latex free, but I had no problem with odor control with the Unique Wellness briefs. The odor control problem occurred with the Abena Abri-Flex Extras.

Have you tried Wearever Super Briefs (3/pk @ $59) from Eversure.com. They are a pull-up cloth diaper with a waterproof outer shell. I am wondering if their absorbency is sufficient to be used as an all day or all night diaper. I am trying to reduce the cost of my incontinence problem. I haven't tried them yet.
