Please no. Cam has suffered enough. Even for Addison's mom that seems too cruel.

To be honest the cliffhanger put a stop to it. I went from "This is hard to read" to "WHAT!"? The poem from Beth was a genius touch. I don't think anyone accused Addison from being out of character. As a character, she's well written and consistent. Its the person I find myself disliking. Its what makes her interesting to read. She's quite a different beast when compared to Amanda or Ivy.

I'm pretty sure Cam will be getting that procedure. With how tight Addison's mom has a grip on things now, an outside party is probably gonna have to open up an opportunity for them to even start to realistically turn the tables. The question is if Addison will take it.

Went back to reread. Can't wait to see what she's been up to.

I'm curious about Addison's sister. Have we met her yet? Evil aunts have been in previous stories and I'm wondering if we will see a continuation of that or an exception. I'm also curious about the death of Addison's father. How did he die? I suspect foul play.

Yeah he's definitely gonna need some sort of small victory soon to give him some hope back.

It also helped that Ivy realized how much she screwed Holly over and started to genuinely try and make up for it. I think what makes Cam's case uniquely heart wrenching is that we've spent so much time with him before the gender change. We've gotten to know who he is and his hopes and dreams, only for it all to be slowly taken from him.

I agree. Especially when you consider the social hierarchy between Amazons, Mids, and Littles. Its a wonder she hasn't turned out worse. I appreciate the complexity. She's not willfully evil, just unwilling to risk her way of life. She only tries to help Cam because of her feelings for him. Yet, now she can never have him romantically because she's his mommy now.

Well Addison's mom's reach is insane. Looks like this case has to get to the Supreme Court somehow. Nice update! I never doubted Addison's intentions and its good to know that she managed to get Cam a lighter sentence. Being able to keep his mind will be clutch. However I still think that the best option would have been to go straight to Cam as soon as she found about her mother's plan and told him everything. They could have planned ahead. Instead she caved into what her mother wanted. Mostly. Her intentions were good but intentions end where actions begin. Then again, considering how public this trial probably was, how events played out may comeback to bite Addison's mom in the behind. I mean Its obvious that the court was corrupt. Actually I think Cam's comment about Addison's mom dying one day is probably the nicest thing that could be said about the evil woman. She will one day die. I shall not hold back?! I'm excited to see what you have planned. Granted, this chapter didn't change my opinion of Addison as a person much. It still seems that she ended up choosing the method of "saving" Cam that was most convenient for her. Cam's alive but he isn't free. He's a slave with lighter chains. I just realized every post I've made so far has me moralizing. I must come across as jerk.?

That's certainly possible, but if she was able and willing to hide R&D from her mother and the rest of the company, then why could she have not reached out to Cam sooner? Safe Foods needs to be brought to justice and be shut down, not have its crimes secretly cleaned up behind the scenes while it continues to commit more. I actually really like Addison as a character and have no doubt she will contribute to fixing the damage done, but I would much rather see her have a character arc that leads to a change of heart rather than a "secretly good all along" twist.

She works for Safe Foods as assistant director of the division that made the products that screwed up Beth. Although she seems to be relatively new to the position. Its one of the reasons I find her so repugnant right now. She profits off of Safe Food's evil knowing full well how wrong it all is. If anything she was in a uniquely advantageous position to help more than anyone else. She could have testified or even anonymously came forward to assist the prosecution. Maybe tell Cam not to lose his cool because the judge is in her mother's back pocket. Apologies and small gestures after the fact don't amount to much and come across as attempts to ease her own guilt conscience. This is why I called her a moral coward. When faced with a moral choice, she does what's easy or convenient for her rather than what she believes is right. I've always been content to just lurk and read but the past few chapters have riled me up enough to make an account. If If this is how you intended Addison to come across then well done! Its sad really, Littles and Mids have to walk on egg shells out of fear of appearing to be too immature but Amazons can be as immature as they want.

Yay! First post! Great chapter and story so far! However, I have to say... Addison is a terrible person. Littles and Mids live in constant fear of having their freedom stolen from them and what happiness they can eek out ruined. Addison's family has contributed to this for profit. Meaning Addison has profited of of the suffering her family's company has caused and continues to do so by working for it even though she knows how wrong it is. With her position she could have TESTIFIED. She probably has access to tons of incriminating dirt. She claims to love Cam (and that might be so) but is willing to participate in his enslavement. I'm sure her mother is the one pulling the strings but Addison is a grown woman who clearly knows this is wrong. She should show some moral backbone for once. Hell if she had any decency she wouldn't let her monster of a mother within 100 yards of Cam. When Amanda and Fred adopted Bella, the went out of their way to save a complete stranger from a terrible fate and in doing so put themselves at great personal risk. They still did it because they knew it was the right thing to do. They even made sure to have Bella's consent first. Amanda and Fred are heroes. Addison is a moral coward. Of course the story isn't over yet, and something could happen to change my opinion. I just felt the need to get that off my chest. Can't wait for the next chapter.
