barn-NEK-VT-2024.jpg

This is a Barn and house that are in the Northeast Kingdom of Vermont.  it's kinda cool that there are pictures like this, to remind me why I LOVE Vermont, and I LOVE America.  I could probably tell you stories from childhood about going to places that were old farmhouses, or where there were working Dairy and other farms that grow fruits, and veggies.  There's just something about a RED Barn and a RED farmhouse:  They belong together, like PB&J, like @FretaBWetand @LilRugrat, like @Evelyn Dellcerro and @TransfusionelleOr Tom and Jerry! :)

@LilRugrat

I did, and you did a GREAT job on it!  It's so real that I almost feel as if I could jump into that picture and land at your front door, or in your driveway, and roll up to your front door!  You Made My DAY!!  Now, you'll have to add some RABBITS to the pic, because being a farm, there probably is a few around in the fields ;)

My Cousin Warren III, and his wife Laura Own Hillcrest Nursery in Greensboro, VT,  (https://hillcrestnursery.net/)

and that Is the Hill Family Homestead, which has been around for over 200 years, and some of these individuals FOUNDED the town.

When I go there, I feel like it is a reminder of how wonderful it is to be with family, and hear stories of Grandparents, Uncles,. Aunts, and the like, and when my Uncle Lewis Hill was alive, he used tp tell us stories of his youth, and could tell you almost ANYTHING about the Town of Greensboro.  He used to write books about gardening, and he was GOOD at it.  One summer I was there, and in their backyard, it brought back memories of playing in my own backyard as a young child (Birth to about 5) in East Hardwick VT!) Warren III's Son Warren IV, and his daughter Natalie raise chickens and Cows, and she has gone to the "BIG E" and has won some prizes for her work.

So, this type of picture, as well as the ones that I have been sent, bring back memories of being younger, when you didn't HAVE to worry about getting hurt, or being able to have FUN, while today, the world is so MESSED up!  No WONDER so many of us want to wear diapers and regress! :)

I love that picture, it's so New England. If you are talking about the Eastern States Exposition then I've been there once with my dad.

Lilrugrat and I went out for a ride today. She has a new job where she uses a company car to visit clients in our county and a neighboring County. We drove to the office in the neighboring County today so she would be confident in getting there to the office without getting lost and she would know when to leave to arrive on time. It gave us the opportunity to do some sightseeing while we were out. The office is a 45 minute drive from the local office but on the return trip we took a different route and ended up driving on gravel roads. It was so much fun. Our Explorer Sport Trac has a built in compass on the headliner console so we used it to navigate. We kept turning west and then south like stairsteps across two counties. We never once looked at Google maps 🙂. We forded creeks where they ran over low lying parts of the road and some roads where we wouldn't have been surprised to encounter a wagon train lol. I'm going to send you some more pictures to your email when I get the laptop out next.

Hugs,

Freta
