    • Samantha usually listened to her daughter with great interest and patience, but that morning was different. They had important commitments and couldn't spare a moment to pay attention to her daughter's words. However, Samantha still managed to make time for her daughter's dental routine. She gently lifted the little girl and carried her into the bathroom, placing her on a stool by the sink. Samantha then took the girl's toothbrush, adorned with Disney Princess Tena, and squeezed a drop of strawberry toothpaste onto it. With a loving smile, she handed the toothbrush to her daughter and asked, "Darling, would you like to brush your teeth like a big girl or would you like me to help you?"
    • My dad's last few emails from 2008.  There was a family reunion being planned, probably first in many many years, which he didn't get to go to.
    • I started working to become a bedwetter years ago and have worn diapers at night for most of the last 5+ years. Last night I was in a place where I could try without a diaper and decided to "give it a go" so I gave it a shot. First some possibly helpful info: There's a deep psychological component to truly wetting at night (my prior posts detail) The biggest breakthrough for me was not judging "dry" nights and basically ignoring the result if dry but enjoying/appreciating the nights I wet in my sleep- which is a big reason why I went several years with a diaper every night. Why go without if it's potentially the "judging progress" I'm trying to avoid? It's more for observation. Someone recently posted their ventures without night diapers after years of wearing every night. In short, their first night was restless (lots going on in the brain- from worrying about wetting to being excited/eager to wet etc) Their results were that they didn't sleep well the first night and stayed dry, but that they were so exhausted by the 2nd night diaperless that they did end up wetting in their sleep without a diaper. I decided to give it a go for a single night diaperless- would be great if I woke up totally soaked having wet in my sleep BUT if I awoke totally dry I'd be OK with that too- knowing that even now I may have several dry nights and then the random wet night (even with diapers) so it's all more about observation than judgement. Totally not testing whether or not I'm "really a bedwetter" because that'd take a couple weeks of monitoring to ID anyways. So for last night- I had quite a bit of the psychological activity others described even though I had totally emptied my bladder right before going to bed. Felt different without a diaper. Felt a bit vulnerable too. Tad bit of excitement at the potential to soak during a deep sleep. Pushed all of these to the back of my mind and tried to focus on floating down the river towards sleep. Certainly got some sleep... at some point I awoke while starting to wet. Stopped it within seconds, and went back to sleep. This then again happened maybe 3-4 times and by that point my underwear was very wet and I had a foot-long wet spot on my sheet. Unfortunately I had to "go" at that point so much that I wasn't able to go back to sleep so I ducked into a restroom, came back to bed, diapered up and slept MUCH more securely the rest of the night. With diapers I wet during deep sleep anywhere from once every week or two up to as frequently as 3-4 nights a week. It's a bit random. Last night's diaperless night I did wet even though I'd emptied my bladder right before bed. I was one notch deeper sleep away from soaking. No doubt, if I was diaperless for a couple of weeks there'd be some nights where I was more tired than last (and end up wetter than last) not to mention if I'd not emptied my bladder before sleeping. Good luck on your journeys!
    • Thank you! the next one is on its way...  😀 Chapter 7: Let it Go, Let it Go Both my mommy and I stepped into the house with Christie’s mommy.  My mommy then unzipped my backpack and handed her all of my diapers for the sleepover:  Five Size 4 Pampers Cruisers and one Size 4 Pampers Swaddlers Overnights. “Here are Macy’s diapers,” she told Christie’s mommy with a smile.  “Yes, I know that Macy is four and a half and still in diapers, but she has ‘special needs’.  I will try to potty train her this summer.  Changing her won’t be too much trouble for you, will it?” Christie’s mommy smiled.  “Oh, not at all!  Cecilia is 18 months old, and she is still in diapers.  And believe it or not, Cecilia is also in Size 4’s.  She’s pretty big like Christie was when Christie was her age…So if an emergency comes up, I’ll just change Macy into Cecilia’s diapers if I need to.  I see that they’re Pampers.  Cecilia is in Luv’s, since she has sensitive skin…” My mommy nodded.  “Yes.  Macy is quite a little peanut.  Just like her mommy…”  I saw that my mommy was shorter than Christie’s mommy when she stood next to her.  “Well, I gave you Macy’s diapers.  The rest of her things are in her backpack.  Don’t have her stay up too late.  I gave you my number so call me if you need anything or if you have an emergency.”  She then gasped.  “Oh, and one other thing.  Macy will not tell you when she needs her diaper changed, so be sure to check her every now and then.  I think it’s part of her autism…” Christie’s mommy nodded.  “Will do!  I do diaper checks on Cecilia often so I will remember to check Macy whenever I check Cecilia…” My mommy then leaned down and gave me a kiss.  “Have a nice sleepover, Macy.  Mommy will be here tomorrow before lunch to pick you up.  Have fun with your friends!” I nodded and mommy left the front door.  Christie’s mommy picked up my backpack in one hand and held my diapers in the other hand.  She glanced at me with a welcoming smile.  “This way, Macy.” She told me.  “I’ll take you to the girls…” I followed her upstairs and we turned right to a hallway with a few rooms.  The room on the right was Cecilia’s room.  I guessed that it was her room because after we entered it, I saw pink walls and white carpeting, with a white crib and a brown wooden changing table nearby.  At the bottom of the changing table was two open sacks of Luvs diapers.  One was for daytime, and one was for nighttime.  Christie’s mommy sat the stack of my six diapers on top of the changing table, which also had wipes, cream, and baby powder next to it. And before we left the room, Christie’s mommy leaned down and reached her hand underneath my dress to check my diaper.  Since my mommy just changed me before she took me to Christie’s house, I was barely damp at this point.  The yellow line was still there.  My mommy always told me that if the line was blue, my diaper was really wet.  She nodded and glanced at me.  “You don’t need a change yet.  Here. I’m going to drop off your backpack in Christie’s room and then take you to the girls…” I followed Christie’s mommy past a bathroom and what looked like a playroom, since I heard the laughs and giggles from all of my friends in there.  Christie’s room was at the end of the hallway, with Christie’s mommy and daddy’s room across the hall, since I saw a really big bed in that room. We entered Christie’s bedroom and I saw four sleeping bags laid out on the floor, with pillows and blankets for each one.  Christie didn’t have one since she could just sleep in her own bed.  There were two sleeping bags and then another two sleeping bags below it, forming a square of four sleeping bags. Each sleeping bag had a backpack next to it, except for one.  Christie’s mommy sat my backpack on the top right sleeping bag, which was near Christie’s bed.  The lavender backpack next to my pink and white checker backpack looked like Susie’s, since she always used that one during preschool.  Cassie’s green and pink backpack sat behind Susie’s and Trixie’s dark purple backpack sat behind mine. Christie’s mommy unzipped my backpack and placed my Minnie Mouse footed blanket sleeper on top of my sleeping bag.  She then grabbed my hand, and we walked out of the room and to the playroom, where I saw a bunch of toys in there.  Dolls, dollhouses, and even a small playpen area for Cecilia.  A couch also sat in the room, with a large TV that hung on the wall. Both Susie and Trixie were playing with dolls, while Christie and Cassie were playing with the dollhouse.  Cecilia was happily shaking a plastic multicolor caterpillar toy.  I walked over to Christie and Cassie as Christie’s mommy checked Cecilia’s diaper.  Having noticed that Christie’s mommy picked Cecilia up, she definitely needed a change.  I never knew when I needed a change anymore since I don’t pay attention to this anymore.  The only time that I notice is that my diaper is squishy when I sit down. It didn’t feel that squishy, so I sat down to play with Christie and Cassie. Christie smiled.  “You’re finally here, Macy!  We’re playing Nastya!  The girl doll is Nastya and the daddy doll is her daddy.” I smiled as I watched the silly things that both Christie and Cassie did with the dolls.  Christie controlled Nastya and Cassie controlled the daddy. A few minutes later, Christie’s mommy came back with Cecilia.  She sat her down in the playpen and glanced up at us. “Girls,” she addressed us.  “I’m going to make some snacks and you’re going to watch a movie.  What movie do you want?” Christie, Susie, and I all wanted Tangled, while Cassie and Trixie wanted Frozen. When Christie’s mommy grabbed the Tangled movie, Trixie almost threw a temper tantrum. “No!” she shouted.  “I wanna watch Frozen!  I wanna watch Frozen!!!” Christie’s mommy didn’t want there to be any trouble at the sleepover, so she sat down Tangled and picked up the Frozen movie instead. About 10 minutes into the movie, Christie’s mommy had snacks for all of us.  A couple of apple slices, a few goldfish crackers, a few cinnamon teddy grahams, and a strawberry kiwi juice box for each of us.  We each had our own plate with the same amount so there was no fighting over who had more. As we were enjoying our snacks, Cecilia began to throw a fit.  This was something that Phoebe also did back at home, so I understood it all too well. Christie’s mommy hurried into the room and picked up Cecilia.  “Oh Cece…” she cooed.  “Here.  Let mommy take you to your playpen downstairs.  They’re all trying to watch their movie.  How about some….COCOMELON! Yeah!”  Christie’s mommy left with Cecilia and the room got quiet again and we were all able to hear Frozen again. We then got to my favorite part of the movie.  The part where Elsa sings “Let it Go”.  When we got to this part, Christie started to sing.  And before long, we were all singing “Let it Go” along with Elsa. But in the middle of the song, I could suddenly feel my diaper getting very warm.  The warmth lasted for a little while, as I still didn’t really understand time at that age.  Having just learned what a second was in preschool, I knew that it was after every Mississippi.  With that, “One Mississippi, two Mississippi, three Mississippi” was three seconds, but I still couldn’t understand everything about it.  All I knew is that the warmth began to fade towards the end of the song. We all continued to watch the movie.  And as we got towards the end, where the mean Hans locked Anna in a room for her to freeze, all of my friends began looking at me. “Something smells.” Susie said out loud. “I smell it too,” Cassie said. Christie nodded.  “Usually it’s my baby sister Cecilia, but she’s not in the room.” She took a big sniff next to where I was sitting.  “Macy, did you poop?” “Yeah,” Susie said, almost laughing.  “Did Macy poop her diaper again?” I said nothing, as the situation had already started to get embarrassing. Christie nodded.  “She did.  My sister smells just like that after she poops.” She stood up and was about to leave the room. “You’re going to miss the movie!” Trixie shouted. Christie sighed.  “I’ve seen this movie many times.  I’m getting mommy.”  She left the room and raised her voice.  “Mommy!  Macy pooped!” A few moments later, Christie’s mommy was in the room.  She had me stand up and she grabbed me by the hand.  She also paused the movie.  “I’m going to change Macy and then we can finish the movie.  Just play with your toys until she comes back, okay?” Christie gasped.  “What about Cece?” Christie’s mommy smiled.  “Daddy is watching Cece right now.” She then turned to face me.  “This way, Macy…” Christie’s mommy guided me by the hand all the way to Cecilia’s (or Cece’s) room.  When we got to the changing table, she lifted me up and laid me on top of it.  “Woo, that smells like a stinky one!” she said, as she lifted up my dress revealing my soggy and heavily soiled diaper.  She also noticed that the yellow line was now dark blue.  “Yes Macy girl, I think your diaper smells just as stinky as Cece’s…”  She peeled off both tabs of the diaper and opened it up.  “Yup!  Just as stinky!” “Phoebe’s smell the worstest!” I shouted, concealing a giggle. Christie’s mommy was in the middle of cleaning my private place when she frowned.  “Who is Phoebe?  Your little sister?” I nodded and grinned. “And how old is your little sister?” she asked me. “My mommy told me that she’s 14 months old now.” I told her. Christie’s mommy (who I quickly found out was really fast at diaper changes) was already checking me over for rashes.  Having found no rashes, she began to powder one of the Pampers that my mommy packed for me.  “And how old are you, Macy?” I held out four fingers.  “I’m dis many.” I told her.  I then held out five fingers.  “I turn dis many in July…” Christie’s mommy nodded and just stared at me as she lifted me up a little bit to slide a diaper underneath me before laying me on top of it.  “So, you’re almost five years old and you need to wear diapers all the time?  Don’t you think you’re a little too old for diapers?” She folded the diaper between my legs and fastened both tapes in the middle.  “Don’t you want to wear big girl underwear and be a big girl?  What about using the potty like a big girl?” I shuddered when I heard the word “potty”.  “No!” I shouted.  “Pottys are yucky!  My diapers are better.” Christie’s mommy stared at me again and pulled my dress back down to cover up my diaper.  She then picked me up and sat me down on my feet.  “Well, we can’t keep your friends waiting.  After you all finish the movie, we’re going to have dinner downstairs, okay?” I nodded, as she guided me by the hand back to the playroom where my friends were.  I could smell the faint smell of baby powder and the perfumes from the Pampers diaper.  The poopy smell was still in the room, but it was beginning to fade away at this point. “Is baby Macy all changed?” Cassie teased. “Hey!” Christie shouted, grabbing Cassie’s hair.  “Cut it out!  Macy has ‘special needs’, remember?” Christie’s mommy nodded.  “That’s right.  Macy needs her diapers during the day.  Someday, she won’t need them, but she needs them for the time being.  Now, we’re going to finish the movie and we’re all going to have dinner, okay?” “Okay!” Christie and the rest of my friends shouted. I sat down next to Cassie and Trixie on the soft carpeted floor and finished watching the rest of Frozen.  Even though I have seen the ending many times, I still cried during the part where Anna was frozen solid.  I could also hear Trixie and Cassie crying right next to me.  Our faces were a little wet with tears as we got to the ending of the movie. With the movie over, it was now time for dinner.  How would the rest of the sleepover go?  And what was for dinner?  My stomach roared like a lion as we all saw what Christie’s mommy made in the kitchen…
