Guest fakename7 Posted May 14, 2013 Posted May 14, 2013 i just found out that i'm going to have to get carpel tunnel release surgery next week, on my right hand.
mahleedl Posted May 14, 2013 Posted May 14, 2013 Pup, Somewhere in his "what to expect" thread, Blake talks about how he does things one-handed as his condition affects use of one of his hands. You'll have to do some digging as that thread is long, but it might be exactly what you're looking for. You might also try PM'ing him... MDL

Repaid1 Posted May 15, 2013 Posted May 15, 2013 For the wiping, get you a travel pack of baby wipes. Will make things alot easier. I can tape up with either hand. You can use your Right to just hold the diaper front up and in place. Hope things go okay for you and your hand gets better soon.
rusty pins Posted May 15, 2013 Posted May 15, 2013 I had carpel tunnel surgery on both hands at the same time many years ago. 1
BlakeJordan Posted May 24, 2013 Posted May 24, 2013 There are extensions you can get for wiping. As well as disposable wet wipes. As for the taping. Try the tear by hand tape made by scotch. Can be torn by one hand. And can get a much tighter fit then normal without the risk of tearing any tapes or wings. Try using the arm as support. To hold things in place while taping. Rather than the hand to grip. Should be just fine.
thong5 Posted May 24, 2013 Posted May 24, 2013 I had an injury to my right hand a few years back and was wrapped up for about 6 weeks. You will learn to manage because you have no choice. Perhaps as was suggested try pullups with a soaker and maybe foregoing the morning mess for the time you are bandaged up. I wish you all the best and hope your recovery time is short.
Guest fakename7 Posted May 24, 2013 Posted May 24, 2013 Thanks, everyone! Surgery was done two days ago.
