Demon-hunter Posted January 11 Posted January 11 I know Ron DeSantis in Florida, did or planning on doing that to, including baby formula, baby food, pet food and a few other things as well
Crinklz Kat Posted January 11 Posted January 11 They have been tax free here since '22. But I'm actually surprised that they would have been taxed in the first place - that along with a bunch of the other items that were added to the exclusion list by that law. In PA (where I used to live), none of that would have been taxed (being considered a living necessity, not a luxury). Same for most grocery items. Prepared foods (mostly "junk food" category, bottled beverages, candy, etc.) was taxed - and that included all restaurants/fast food. Also, nearly all clothing is tax free, which is why people from NY, NJ, CT (and elsewhere) drive in by the bus loads to go shopping there. Though many of the big "outlet" malls have closed up in recent years. I used to find Feb/Mar timeframe was great for finding deals as stores were desperate for any sales at all.
Dubious Posted January 12 Posted January 12 Medical equipment should be tax free everywhere. I know its never gonna happen in Norway, cause those that need the stuff for medical reasons, get diapers etc. for free.
