Little Giammy Posted September 15, 2024 Posted September 15, 2024 chapter 1 Paul P.O.V Hi there! My name is Paul and I’m 7 years old! I live in a fun city called Tamir, which is in a place called Goran. Today is super-duper exciting because Sister Rose told me I’m going to have a new family! Yay! My new mommy is named Barbara, and she’s coming to take me home soon. To get me all ready, Sister Lucy gave me a bubbly bath, which I really love! Then she dressed me in a pull-up and a cool white t-shirt with Goofy on it, who is my most favorite cartoon buddy! After that, she gave me my pacifier and took me to a big room filled with toys. She said I should wait there, and I did! I grabbed some blocks and sat down to play, while Sister Lucy knelt beside me to join in the fun. I really like Sister Lucy; she’s super nice and we have a blast together! We played for a long time, and then Sister Rose came in and said there were two people who wanted to meet me. The first one is a tall lady, kind of like Sister Lucy, with long blonde hair, bright blue eyes, and a smile that makes me feel all warm inside. She’s wearing a pretty purple top and a long skirt. The other one is a girl who is my age but taller! She has blonde hair in two bouncy pigtails, green eyes, and she’s wearing red overalls with a white shirt. “Hi Paul! I’m Barbara and this is Zoe!” She points to the tall girl who is so big I can almost touch her chest! “Do you want to come home with us?” she asks with a big happy smile. I nod my head really fast! “Okay, now grab your things!” Then she tells Zoe to come with me, and the little girl takes my hand and follows me while I hear Sister Rose and Barbara chatting. I go with my new sister to the bedroom where there are three other kids, and I grab my stuffed panda named "Poe," hugging him tight. Then, holding Zoe’s hand, we go back to Sister Rose’s office. "Did you grab all your stuff?" Barb… Mom, asks in a super nice voice as I walk over and she scoops me up! She's so tall, it feels like she could reach the fluffy clouds! With Poe cuddled in my arms, we wave goodbye to my friends at the orphanage. Mom helps me into her big, shiny car, puts me in my cozy car seat, and fastens the buckle nice and snug! I make a grumpy face because I really don’t wanna be there! So Zoe grabs Poe and starts making him chat. "Why are you making that face?" my friend asks me. "Because I don’t wanna sit in the car seat!" I say, crossing my arms like a tiny troublemaker. "But nice kids sit in the car seat!" says my friend who is perched on my sister's lap. "Why?" I ask, looking at my sister who is pretending to look out the window. "Because if something goes boom, you might get hurt! And you don’t wanna get hurt, do you?" my friend asks me. "No!" I shout. "Then be a good kid and stay in the car seat!" says my friend. "Okay! But it’s not fair!" I say as I snuggle into the car seat and watch my mom drive. 2
parkintochter Posted September 15, 2024 Posted September 15, 2024 I like this and want to read more! But like Keith says it's a bit short. Also the chapter needs a bit more explanations. Why is he put in a Pull-Up and got a pacifier? Also didn't she dress him in a pair of pants/shorts?

Little Giammy Posted September 16, 2024 Author Posted September 16, 2024 chapter 1 Barbara P.O.V As I was savoring breakfast with my two beloved daughters, Christine, who is 16, and Zoe, who is 7, I finally received the long-awaited call: “Good morning, this is Sister Teresa from the ‘Happy Stork’ orphanage. Am I speaking with Mrs. Barbara Kall?” “Yes, that’s me,” I replied, immediately setting down the slice of toast with jam that I had been enjoying. “What can I do for you?” “I’m delighted to inform you that your adoption application has been approved,” she announced, filling my heart with joy. “That’s… that’s wonderful!” I exclaimed, all aflutter with excitement. “You can come to pick him up this morning if you’d like,” she continued. “Absolutely! I’ll be there in the morning for sure. See you soon,” I said enthusiastically to the sister, as I shared the wonderful news with my two girls. We all gather for breakfast together, and then I tell my daughter Christine that it's time for her to head to school since her classes have already started. Zoe, on the other hand, will begin next week, so there's no reason she can't join me on the way to Tamir. After that, the three of us head to the bathroom to brush our teeth, and then we go to our rooms to get dressed. I choose a lovely purple blouse paired with a flowing blue skirt that reaches my ankles, finishing off my outfit with my cute blue sandals. After getting dressed, I head over to see if Zoe is ready. I notice she has chosen a lovely pink overall paired with a white t-shirt. After getting dressed, I head over to see if Zoe is ready. I notice she has chosen a lovely pink overall paired with a white t-shirt. Next, I make my way to Zoe's room to grab the diaper bag, which is spacious enough to hold all the baby essentials. Zoe is absolutely thrilled at the thought of sharing her room with her little brother. I do a final check to ensure we have everything: diapers, wipes, cream, and a bottle of milk just in case he gets thirsty. "Perfect, we have it all!" I exclaim as I leave the children's room and approach Christine, who is getting ready for school. "See you later!" Christine waves goodbye as I step out with Zoe, heading towards the car. I hold the door open for her, and she hops in, settling next to the car seat and fastening her seatbelt. I start the engine, and off we go towards Tamir. The journey takes about an hour and a half, during which Zoe excitedly shares how she will be a responsible big sister, how much fun she’ll have playing with her little brother, and how she’ll help me take care of him. It’s clear she’s eager to join the Gorian Nannies Academy. After a quick stop for gas, we’re back on the road, and soon we arrive in the city. I enter the address for "the happy stork" and follow the directions to a charming, modern building. I drive through the open gate and park under a lovely tree before walking towards the entrance with my daughter. As we step inside, I notice the walls are adorned with delightful children’s prints inspired by beloved cartoons, which brings a smile to my face. I approach the reception desk, and seeing it empty, I ring the bell. "Just a moment," replies a nun holding a stack of papers. "Here I am! How can I help you?" she says after placing the documents on a desk and coming closer. "Good morning. I’m Barbara Kall. Sister Teresa contacted me about the possibility of adopting a child." The nun picks up an internal phone and announces my arrival, then hangs up and gestures for me to follow her. She leads me to the office of the director, who is waiting for me. I gently knock and await an invitation to enter, then I open the door and step inside. "Good morning," Sister Rose greets me warmly, welcoming both me and Zoe into her office and gesturing for us to take a seat. "I understand you traveled all the way from Zalue to be here. Was your journey pleasant?" she inquires with kindness, as she retrieves a folder from a drawer. "not, it was lovely!" I reply with a smile, while Sister Rose opens the folder and pulls out some documents, explaining that they pertain to the latest paperwork. "Let me take you to meet the child, so you can get acquainted. This way, please," she says, inviting us out of the office. I feel a wave of excitement as I gently take my daughter's hand, squeezing it with enthusiasm before following Sister Rose to a room filled with toys, where a seven-year-old boy is happily playing with building blocks. This scene touches my heart deeply. I wait for Sister Rose to introduce us, then kneel down to meet the boy's gaze. I introduce myself and Zoe, asking if he would like to come home with us. He nods eagerly, so I tell him to gather his things with Zoe. As I speak, I seek clarification from Sister Rose: "I read in the file that the child isn't potty trained," I say, feeling a bit uncertain. "Oh, that's correct," Sister Rose replies. "This is our fourth attempt," she explains, "but I doubt this one will be successful either." "Oh! I see," I respond with a smile. "Well, if he’s not ready, I won’t push it." A little while later, I spot Zoe and Paul returning to the office, hand in hand, and they look absolutely adorable! "Did you get everything?" I ask the little one before lifting him into my arms. I warmly greet Sister Rose, and we make our way toward the building's exit, heading to my car. I open the door and gently place the child in his seat, fastening his seatbelt snugly. I notice him making a funny face as I settle into the driver's seat and start the engine. I can hear Zoe explaining to him why he needs to stay in his seat, and it makes me chuckle: "She really knows how to handle the little guys!" I continue driving with a big smile on my face. 2
