We had sex and l like to think l rocked Joy's word.

Being married to Nancy, lets just say she has been my only other sexual partner other than Joy! 

I have to admit l am not the most savy of guys where sex is involved! 

Nancy was pretty much, l guess they would call her Vanilla.

Anything l attempted to spice up our love life.

Was met with her disapproval.

I checked the book of the Karma Sutra out of the library to spice our love making up.

She returned it to the library the very next day.

She called the book an abomination  and wouldnt allow it in the house. 

I think it scared her, that there were things more than were sexually unvanilla than what she was used to.

I wish l could remember some of those moves, l just know that Joy would be open to them.

But alas l checked that book out some what 20, 25  years ago?

My mind has a hard time remembering yesterday, let alone almost 25 years ago!

That and l only thumbed through it, l didnt read it before she returned it.

Great gramma Ana brought my grandkids back the following day.

She had them over night.

We got them today. 

Susan and Clarence were on their honeymoon until Monday, they went and were getting the last of Susan's and the kids things from her exe husband. 

Clarence was there in case he tried to harm Susan. 

I would love to be there if he tried anything.

Clarence is not as big as her exe, but l remember that kid was a scrapper!

I really loved my granddaughters, Frank was in good hands now, but every so often he reminded me of his dad. That holyer than thou attitude came out every so often. I wanted to put my boot in his ass when it did but corperal punishment was frowned upon these days.

Probably why were turning out a generation of little snots!

My dad and mom, used to beat me, l didn't learn hatred for my parents, just the opposite l learned respect for others!

Anyway, l cant kick his ass like l want to anymore!

The only thing that works is when his Nintendo, or Playstation whatever it is, gets took away. 

The kid looks like he's got the DT's just like a drunk or a druggie! He goes through with withdrawls.

He was playing a game called Grand Theft Auto.

Isnt that illegal?

The guy goes around killing people.

But Bugs Bunny, Roadrunner are to damned violent.

Guess l am not the ones to make those decisions, they didn't ask me!

Well l guess it's also the times we live in are screwed up, bad is being called good and good is being called bad.

Our pastor talked about that just last week!

I guess l am not one to be talking, l have been fornicating with my girlfriend, now my wife.

It's legal now!

I really do worry about the world we are leaving our kids or grandkids.

They dont stand a chance, we have screwed them up, look at how many Psychologists are out there now.

We have no future!

I remember my grandfather telling me the same things in the 1960's, we were in trouble then according to him.

But l dont think we all turned out too bad.

We took my grandkids to the store for lunch.

A couple of boys walked in, they sat and Melissa and one of the boys locked eyes.

It had been a few years but l remember being a teen locking eyes with a girl.

Her name was Nancy Wall!

I was smitten she was a cousin to Francine Davis she lived in Taggart about 15 miles away.

We would see each other next year at the High School there were 8 little towns that went to the high school. Hanford was the town l lived in. 

Taggart was the biggest city it was maybe 8600 people.

Hanford had about 1200. 

One town was dinky it had just over a hundred people.

We all get bussed into Taggart.

The littlest town was 56 miles away one way. 

Royal was the name of the town.

They actually lived in another county but it was closer to Taggart to go to high school.

The nearest one in their county was 76 miles away.

It made sense that the Royal kids go to school with us.

We were glad to have them, those Royal kids played football winter, spring, summer, and Fall.

They played tackle football without pads, helmets, or uniforms.

They loved the game, and they were tougher than hell kids.

The kids that came out of Royal were huge, they had big arms and big thighs.

Yeah the boys were huge as well!

Nobody beat us, we were State Football champs 13 years.

It wasnt straight 13 years sometimes there were one or two years but, for about 20 years, we won 13 Championships. 

The worst we had done was 3rd in those 20 years!

Now Hanford we had the Basketball players.

One kid from Hanford we had was 6 foot 11 inches. 

Talk about a ball player he was leading the state in scoring. That was 1A  2A, 3A 4A, schools.

That kid was Walter Walker. He averaged 40 points a game his Senior year.

I played basketball and played baseball, ran track.

Never played football because the Royal kids thought l was to small, and they didn't want to hurt me!

Anyway I knew my granddaughter Mellissa was in love with Colby Jackson.

I also knew that Mellissa wouldnt want to do much with Colby Jackson.

It was because my granddaughter Mellissa was a bedwetter!

I also knew Colby Jackson wouldnt want to have to much to do with my Granddaughter, his reason was the same as hers!

Monday Clarence and Susan returned to town, they came for her kids. 

They were going to be living at my house, Clarence lived with his older Sister, she was 10 years older than him.

She had never married, she was 5 foot 4 and weighed in at 330 pounds, there were no men beating her door down. 

Wanda was one of the nicest girls around, just she was a bit heavy, okay she was a lot heavy!

Clarence looked nothing like his sister, he was in pretty good shape.

We went to the Mercantile and had lunch, we all had the fish and chips.

We dropped the kids off at my old house.

Joy said "l miss the kids!"

"To bad we don't have some of our own!" I said.

We saw the kids off and on the rest of the week.

On Friday Taggert got hit by a tornado, it did lots of damage.

People were killed and the rains had lots of flooding.

On Sunday at church they told us that they needed immediate homes for 20 kids in our area, this could or could not become permanent. 

Joy looked at me, l just knew we were getting some kids.

Sure enough we got two a sister and a brother.

They were due in on Tuesday. 

Lisa was 9 and her brother Brady was 7.

Tuesday they arrived, they were scared! 

They were expecting the worse! 

We got them in their rooms. 

We fed them lunch.

The kids wandered through the house!

Just exploring.

They couldnt believe the size of the house. 

Joy looked at Lisa.

"Do l know you, you look familiar?"

"No I've never been in this town before. Said Lisa.

This is like the first time, we've been out of Taggart.

Have you spent much time in Taggart?" Lisa Said.

"No l am from further north than Taggart in Genoa."

"Oh really my mom was born there, she was adopted and she was raised in Taggart!." Lisa said.

"What was your mother's name?" asked Joy? 

"Tiana Taylor." Said Lisa.

"Tiana, l had a daughter I put up for adoption that was named Tiana.

"Really?

Do you think your daughter was our mom?"

"I dont think so this was years ago, 45 years ago your mom was probably much younger than that!"

"No my mom is old, she stayed and helped take of my granny, she was in her 30's before she was married to my dad! 

It has always been just Dad, mom, Brady and l.

Mom went throgh where she couldnt have any more babies, soon after Brady was born." Lisa said!

"Menopause?" Joy asked?

"Yeah! If you was mommys real mom why didn't you keep her, how come you adopted her out?"

"When I was 4 or 5 years older than you, l used to babysit.

I had one family that l babysat for the husband was driving me home and he raped me, and l got pregnant with Tiana.

I was 13 or 14 and pregnant.

The father went to prison for raping me.

I had my baby and gave her up for adoption, l also kind of regressed back to a toddler, mentally!

The guy who raped me, my parents sued him and we got 21 million for pain and anguish."

"So you was really young when mommy was born?" Asked Lisa?

"I'm not sure that your mother is my daughter.

What happened to your parents that you got sent here anyway? Asked Joy?

When the tornado came Me and Brady were at school.

Then it rained and rained. 

The cops came to our school and told us we didnt have a home anynore.

Ours was about a half mile from the Taggart River, it washed our and every house on our block away.

The cops think mommy and daddy were in the house when the house was washed away!

Joy decided to  get Lisa and Brady's DNA tested, if its a match and her parents are not found alive at least these 2 might have a grandma!

They went to Taggart, thats where the nearest doctors were, Joy had to sign her life away we needed mouth swabs to test their DNA. She had reason to believe that Lisa and Brady were her grand kids.

They also had to get permission from CAPPA, that was for Child and Adult Person Protection Agency, not only kids but older adults.

They were happy to have the kids DNA on file and they didnt have to pay for it.

 

The kids said thats where we went to school.

Thats where we did our grocery shopping.

We drove by where they used to live. 

They had the road blocked off. 

There was mud but no houses on the street.

 We got back and Lisa was very quiet she was missing her mom and dad.

It took a couple of weeks but we got the results back. 

Lisa and Brady were Joy's grandkids. 

But the really weird part was Lisa and Brady were only half brother and Sister.  

Apperantly mom played around!

There was no denying they were her grand kids for real.

She was getting a do over as mom. 

Lisa had a problem with bedwetting Brady did to but his wasn't as bad as Lisa.

Her Lawyer helped her file for custody of Lisa and Brady Taylor.

The CAPPA wanted to know under what Authority we were adopting kids under their care for?

Joy's Lawyers and their Lawyers were given the DNA that showed Lisa and Brady were related to Joy. 

Once the connection was made CAPPA came and told Joy "That her grandkids were available for adoption, would she like to adopt them!"

Joy said "Definately!"

Joy got a call from CAPPA telling her "That a grandmother has been found for Lisa and Brady Taylor and she could not adopt them as the kids had family!"

Joy could not believe that in a State Agency like CAPPA the Right hand had no idea what the Left hand was doing! 

Joy said okay come get the kids and get them to their grandmother's.

She was told that somebody would be there later that night! 

Somebody came and they rang the doorbell.

Joy answered the door l was within hearing distance of her and the lady that was from CAPPA. 

The lady was confused, she was to pick up two kids, and deliver the same two kids here?

She was on her cell phone calling everybody and their dog to get this straightened out!

"Ma'am, l can save your sanity!"

"How?" She asked?

"Joy when she was 13 was raped by a guy who impregnated her!"

"I still dont know how that helps?" The lady said indignantly!

"Anyway Joy has a daughter she named Tiana she gave up for adoption.

Now this girl is adopted and raised in Taggart.

Her parents are older and Tiana is in her 30's before she marries.

A couple of years later she has a daughter and a couple of years after that has a son.

She and her husband live in Taggart.

One day tornados rip through Taggart!

It also starts to flood the Taggart River that washes away the parents house with them still in it!

The kids are at school.

Several kids in Taggart are displaced!

A woman we will call Joy ends up with two of them.

Lisa and Brady!

Joy thinks the girl Lisa looks familiar!

 She looks like Joy!

As they are talking, Joy begins to think the mom of Lisa and Brady was the daughter she gave up for adoption at 13 years old.

DNA testing was done and Joy is the grandmother to Lisa and Brady even though they are half brother and sister!"

"Thats right they are! Said the lady!

So you are the kids grandfather and she is the grandmother?

It's that simple?" She asked?

"Just that simple!" I said!

"Sounds like something from CAPPA!

We took the wrong kids to the wrong homes last week, we were returning them to their families.

We had white kids to African- American parents, and African- American kids to white parents.

The Right Hand doesn't know what the Left Hand is doing!

As far as l'm concerned the kids have been delivered to the correct home!"

With that CAPPA was out of our house for now!

Joy and her grandkids and my grandkids, they played together, both being the new kids they had each others backs!

The next day we were visited by CAPPA again.

This case worker failed to see the logic, she took Lisa and Brady, she drove them back to Taggart, drove to where their house was and found the same muddy street where houses used to be at.

"Huh? What happened to the house according to the adress it should be here?"

Ma'am, Brady said, this is where we used to live before the tornados and the river over flowed and washed our house away with our parents still in it!"

"But your Grandmother did she live there as well?" Asked the lady?

"No we were with our grandmother where you took us from!" Said Lisa!

The ladies phone rang.

"Hello Brenda speaking! She said in a pleasent sing song tone.

Yeah l took them from the Fostor Family in Fairaday yes!

Well l took them to the adress on record in Taggart,  and it doesnt exist the road is closed!

The Fostor Family was the grandparent?

Yeah they tried to explain something, but you know that some of them lie!

A law suit?

I can have them back in an hour at the most!

I will return them right now.

Yes l will report to your office when l return!" 

She hungup and started driving the kids home.

She was thinking, "I hope l'm not in too much trouble!

Their grandmother didn't have to threaten us with a law suit!

We could of settled this with out a million dollar law suit.

How the hell was l supposed to know that their Fostor Mother was actually the kids Grandma!

I really got after Ellen for not taking them yesterday. 

I just thought that the adress was wrong!

Will they fire me? 

They could, but will they?"

They had arrived back in Fairiday.

The kids were returned to their grandmother and grandfather.

She could of sworn when Lisa and Brady were placed here they were not related!

Brenda returned to Taggart to find out how much trouble she was in!

Her boss greeted her as she went to hus office.

Well if you havent heard we have a million dollar law suit on our hand.

What did Ellen tell you earlier?"

"She said that when she got there the address was the same as the delivery address.

They told her that Joy the Grandmother, when she was 13 was raped by a guy she used to babysit for.

He got her pregnant.

Anyway she puts the kid up for adoption. 

The girl gets adopted and moved to Taggart. 

She gets married and has two kids.

While the kids were at school, tornados and the storms come and their parents and house get washed away.

Two kids go to a lady and she starts finding that the girl looks a lot like her.

She gets DNA checked and finds that they are related.

Sounds totally made up to me!"

"So you find an alternative address in Taggart, dont you think if we had that address we wouldnt have investigated it already, Ellen did and found the samd thing you did!

She told you that didn't she?" Her boss asked.

"Well after what l thought she did yesterday, l thought Ellen was kind of full of shit, l didnt think she vad really looked into it!" Brenda said.

"How about now do you believe her?" He asked

"Now l do!" Brenda said?

"You recomended that Ellen either be transfered or fired! The boss said.

Ellen didn't get a million dollar law siit filed against us like you did!

She did it right, it was you that flubbed it up!

You do know that if the law suit does go through, your name will be the top name on the law suit, you could be liable for $500,000 or half of the amount, the state the other half and guess what since it was your mistake that caused the state will garnish your checks until they get back their $500,000 so you get the whole million!

Dont you wish now, that you had listened to that fuck up Ellen as you have been telling me she is? 

I have sent a representative out there to talk to these people, hopefully we can get them to stop the law suit, at the most we might have to settle out of court.

If they can drop the law suit, you will be transfered, if we settle out of court, you will be looking for a new job, either way you will not be working in this office any longer." He said!

"But this is the only office in Taggert, l grew up here l have family here." Brenda said.

"Unfortunately this was not my decision, this came from up higher than me!

They wanted to fire me, why because l'm your boss and I didn't train you better!

I had to kiss ass just to stay here and have a job, if it came to you or l, l threw you under the bus like you did Ellen!

She is staying and being promoted to your job.

Sometimes you need to learn to trust your underlings.

They are not the complete idiots you seem to think they are!"

Joy was contacted by CAPPA Lawyers. 

Since the kids were returned, would she stop the Million Dollar Lawsuit?

Joy had her Lawyers there and they hashed out a deal that would settle the lawsuit for $3000.

The check was cut that night by CAPPA, and sent to Joy via a courier. 

Brenda was sent to the other end of the state.

She never regained her position. 

After a year she quit CAPPA and returned to Taggart. 

She became a Customer Service Manager or CSM at Walmart. 

It payed almost as much as she had been making at CAPPA.

She ended up in trouble there as well!

She treated her Employees like children, her whole shift walked out on her one day, Cashiers, Stockers, Cleaners, Floor People, Security they all left she was left to run the store by herself!

When asked why they all claimed she was a lousy leader. 

If you say, put a display out, she would yell at you for not having it up even after you were throwing the trash away after having it all set up.

Management was able to talk about 90% to return. 

Brenda was moved to another store as Assistant Manager!

Thety were glad that one of them was promoted to that position at that store.

Joy enjoyed her two grand kids, Lisa and Brady.

She put that $3000 in a bank account in order to get a collage fund set up. 

She put it in a 10 year Certificate of Deposit that and $7000 from her for $10000 earning 4% better than she could get in a regular savings account.
