"Okay mom." he said cheekily. He started to sip on the juice box, eating crackers intermittently. He looked at the window and saw they'd be crossing a bridge and whined. He hated bridges, he always imagined them falling

Alex sat next to te boy and saw him shutter he wrapped an arm around the boy giving him a sideways hug /“it’s ok buddy”

Cal clung onto alex taking comfort in the larger man and keeping his eyes shut tight "T-tell me when we're over the bridge"

Alex gave a little squeeze “and we’re over, it’s ok honey I would never let anything happen to you”

"Thanks Alex" he said giving him a quick hug before finishing his juice and crackers

Alex smiled returning the hug then said “ok buddy we will stop for dinner and hour before our gig until then I’d like you to sit and entertain yourself or I can hold you some more”

Alex really wanted cuddles but didn't want to seem lame and was concerned about the other members. "I-I'll just sit here I guess can I play my DS or draw"

Alex handed the boy his DS and paper and crayons “sure sweetheart just let me know if you change your mind”

Alex frowned a bit after being given crayons since he liked sharp pencils but started drawing anyway. He drew the bands logo and then a scary werewolf before playing his DS for an hour. He felt bored after then and was getting a little nauseous which always happened when he traveled though he was never ill. He looked to see if the other bandmates were looking and then spoke to alex "can i get a hug please i dont feel well"

Alex smiled “of course baby” he walked over to the boy and left Fred him into his arms giving him a squeeze he then walked the boy back to his seat settling Cal on his lap and rubbing his back “rest baby just rest”

Cal was very surprised to be lifted and carried like that, even worse when he was called baby. He blushed and buried his face in Alex's neck. "please dont call me that"

Alex gave the boy a squeeze “what do you mean sweetheart call you what, I just want you to feel better, that’s all”

he looked around to make sure no one was listening "baby...im not a baby" he whined still holding onto Alex

Alex chuckled “oh sweetheart I meant it as a turn of endearment I want making fun of you I promise” he kissed the boys hair “personality I like calling you that not a baby, my baby”

Cal didn't know how to respond to that he just kept hugging Alex, he wondered why he thought that. "i-i'm not a baby though i'm an adult..not yours either"

Alex just shook his head and went back to rocking the small body in his arms whatever you say sweetheart just stay calm please”

He sighed and felt very calm being rocked by the larger man, he closed his eyes and started falling asleep with his head on Alex's shoulder.

Alex smiles and kissed the tired boys head “there’s a good boy now sleep sweetheart I’ll wake you up for dinner” once the boy was asleep he began to make plans

Cal slept well and felt a lot less nauseous. As evening time arrived he started to stir and wake up, yawning as he did and instinctively hugging the body next to him

Alex smiled down at the boy as he woke “hey sweetheart I was just going to wake you, it’s almost time for supper how was your nap baby”

"It was okay" he replied loosening his grip a little once he remembered Alex was holding him. "Are we getting mcdonalds i want a big mac!" he said excited

Alex continued to to stroke the boys hair, yes honey we will stop at McDonald’s and you may get a Big Mac, can you please tell me what behavior expect when we leave this but little boy”

" Hold your hands. But what if people see," he said swinging his legs nervously.

Alex smiled “that’s my good boy, when people see you holding my hand, they won’t think anything, they will just see a little boy with his daddy holding his hand, that’s all sweetheart”

Cal blushed. "I guess. But we're just pretending, right, you're not actually my daddy so that's ok" he reasoned, mostly to himself.
