Adoption Troubles (private)

[Ishigreensa]

Ezrine picked up a cookie once she was at the table, and she sniffed it.  She wasn't certain about it.

Sana picked up a cookie and bit into it readily.  And then she continued to eat.

Though Sana showed Ezrine that the cookies were safe to eat, she still didn't trust them.  They might have milk in them.  She pushed her cookies to Sana, and then started to drink her juice.

Sana looked at Ezrine for a minute or two, and then shrugged and started to eat her cookies.

[robehouse]

Patty sighed as Ezrine refused to eat the cookies. She let Sana go ahead and eat Ezrine's cookies. Frank came to the kitchen and smiled. 

"We've got a couple of problems. The girls won't go in our bedroom either. They started panicking like before. I don't know what to do about sleeping arrangements. The other problem is Ezrine. She wouldn't eat the cookies. I think I'm going to have trouble finding things for her to eat." Patty said.

"Well how about we set up makeshift beds for them in the hall? Put sheets and blankets down, at least for tonight? And we'll figure out the food situation tomorrow." Frank said.

"Alright. I guess that will have to do." Patty sighed.

Frank smiled at the girls and waved his fingers at them.

[Ishigreensa]

The girls waved back at Frank and smiled.

Ezrine climbed off of the chair, took her glass, and then walked over where Frank waved at her, and she looked up at him as she took a drink of juice, looking at him through the top of her eyes as she drank.

Sana didn't think they were supposed to get up from the table though, and stayed right where she was.

She continued eating cookies and drinking the juice, happy for something to eat.

In time, Ezrine, had her juice gone, and reached up at Frank with her arms.  She was adventurous as long as it was on HER terms, and he didn't go chasing her or ushering her into places that scared her.

Sana stayed at the table even after she finished her cookies and her juice, just looking at the adults wondering what they wanted with them.  They didn't seem to want the same things Sana had been through before, so she was glad of that.

[robehouse]

Frank looked down set Ezrine as she stood in front of him. When she finished her juice Frank took the glass and set it on the table. He picked Ezrine up and hugged her. Patty stood up and held her hand out to Sana.

They walked to the linen closet where Patty got out sheets and blankets. She spread them out on the floor, making two beds. She pointed to the beds and then at the girls. She closed her eyes and made snoring noises.

 

[Ishigreensa]

Ezrine shook her head and and pointed at Frank and then to the living room chair.

Sana nodded and started to lie down where she thought she was supposed to.

Ezrine, for some reason, though, didn't want to lie down by herself.  She wanted to let Frank hold her.

She knew she was being childish and even babyish, but she couldn't help it.  First, someone wanted her to marry someone she barely even knew, and the next minute, she was being driven in a truck across the country, stopping and people were doing things to her that she didn't like, and now, she was in a strange home, but the people here didn't act at all like the mean people that got her here.

Sana though Ezrine was being a bit childish, too, but she had her own problems, and knew that if Ezrine went through even half what she did, and she knew that she did, then she really couldn't blame her.  She might want to be closer to this man and woman who seemed to protect them, too.  She did want to be near them, but she didn't want to make trouble and have them send her away, so she obeyed.

[robehouse]

Patty picked up the blankets that Sana wasn't using and handed them to Frank. He carried Ezrine to the living room and sat down in a chair. He laid Ezrine down on his lap and covered them both with a blanket.

Patty covered Sana with a blanket and kissed her cheek.

"Goodnight." Patty said.

Patty cleaned up the kitchen and headed to bed herself.

[Ishigreensa]

"Good Night, " Sana repeated.

She laid down on her bed, closed her eyes, and started to mumble something.

Ezrine closed her eyes while Frank held her, mumbled something, and once she was laying on top of him, she started to breathe evenly and soon was snoring away.

Sana took a little longer before she started to softly snore.

 

Before Sana was gotten up the next morning ,her nest of blankets were soaked and she had wet her pants.

Ezrine slept through the night without peeing once not even in her sleep....

 

The next morning, both girls were still asleep when the sun came up properly.

[robehouse]

Frank woke up, momentarily forgetting where he was. He looked down and saw Ezrine laying on him and smiled. He rubbed her back.

Patty woke up and came out of her bedroom. As she came upon Sana she could smell pee. Patty knelt down and uncovered Sana. She shook her gently to wake her.

"Sana, wake up honey. Let's get you cleaned up." Patty said softly.

[Ishigreensa]

Sana looked up at Patty wondering what she meant.  She didn't understand the words Patty was using.

She crawled out of the blankets though and stood up and held her arms up at Patty.  She was probably too big or heavy to be carried around, but Sana just wanted a hug.  She was starting to feel safe around here, and now, she really missed getting attention from someone that she felt safe around.

 

Ezrine woke up when she felt her back being rubbed.  She looked into Frank's eyes, and she started to relax.

As she relaxed, she started to pee.

She breathed heavily and hugged him tight.

She felt at peace lying there, and didn't seem to register that she was peeing at all.

[robehouse]

Patty gave Sana a hug and led her into the bathroom. She started water running into the tub. Patty turned to Sana and started to undress her, smiling at her.

Frank felt his lap get warm and smiled at Ezrine. He touched the end of her nose and gave her a hug.

"Let's go give you a bath, baby." Frank said.

Frank stood up and carried Ezrine to the bathroom and saw Patty and Sana.

"Got room for another one?" Frank asked.

"The more the merrier they say." Patty said with a smile.

Frank started undressing Ezrine.

Sana went into the bathroom quite willingly, and smiled up at Patty after she had given her a hug.  

When Patty started to undress her, she turned or held her arms anyway she could that would make it easier on her to help her.  She was pretty willing.

 

Ezrine got tears in her eyes when Frank first picked her up and started to carry her.  She thought she was in trouble or he was mad at her for peeing, but then she saw Patty and Sana, and realized by the tone of their voices that he wasn't mad at all.  She started to help him undress her as cooperatively as she could.

 

When both girls were undressed, they each looked up at one parents and smiled.

[robehouse]

They got the girls undressed and Patty helped Sana into the tub. Frank lifted Ezrine into the tub. Patty gave them the bath toys to play with. She started washing them.

"I'll go get clothes for them." Frank said.

Frank left the bathroom and went over to the girls bedroom. He picked out panties, pants and a tee shirt for both girls before coming back to the bathroom.

Just like the night before, the girls played around Patty washing them with the toys.  They giggled a bit and they looked up at Patty with grateful eyes when Patty washed them.  They may never see their real families ever again, but they were starting to trust her as much as they could trust anyone to mother them.  And Ezrine really liked Frank.

When Frank came back to the bathorom, eleven year old Sana blushed, but eight year old Ezrine smiled up at him and held her hands out at him.  

When Ezrine was ready to get dried off, she squirmed and wiggled to get away from Patty to get to Frank.

Sana leaned into Patty and let Patty take care of her.

[robehouse]

Frank smiled at Ezrine and lifted her from the tub. He wrapped a towel around her and started drying her. Patty did the same to Sana. Frank's attention was on Ezrine and wasn't watching Sana get dried off.

After drying Ezrine Frank held out the panties for Ezrine to step into, and then the pants. Patty did the same for Sana. After the girls were dressed Frank picked up Ezrine and Patty took Sana's hand.

"Breakfast?" Patty said, leading everyone out of the bathroom.

 

[Ishigreensa]

Sana smiled up at the nice lady and hugged her when she dried her off and then helped her get dressed.  She then looked over at Frank, and flashed him a small smile, too.  They were not scary.  

Ezrine let Frank dress her, and then she quietly took his hand and waited to leave the bathroom.

As they were led down into the kitchen, the girls sat at the table and smiled at each other.

Though they still felt sadness in their hearts, there were a million things worse that they could endure than these people, and having known some of those things, the girls were very grateful to be where they were.

[robehouse]

When they got to the kitchen Frank set Ezrine down in a chair and Patty motioned for Sana to sit down as well. Patty took some fruit out and put it on plates, then made toast and put it on another plate. She poured juice into glasses, then set everything on the table.

"Eat." Patty said, morning with her hands.

Patty sat down and started eating as well.

"We should go grocery shopping with the girls. They could help me pick out foods they can eat." Patty said.

"I think so too." Frank agreed.

 

[Ishigreensa]

The girls smiled and started to eat the fruit and drink the juice almost right away after Patty started eating.

They smiled at both parents from time to time as they ate, and Sana's eyes sparkled.

Ezrine had eyes mostly for Frank, and hoped he would play with her, or at least hold her hand when she finished eating.  He was the only safe man she had really known besides her daddy, and now, she was taken with him because he was safe.  

Sana had seen a handful of safe men before, but still, she saw something in Frank's eye that she had only ever seen in her own daddy's eyes.  He cared about them, somehow.  She wondered if he would have taken them from their home if they knew that her parents were still there and they wanted her.  She wondered if he would have taken her away if he knew what she had endured to get there with him.  She still did not know or understand that these people had nothing to do with taking her from her home.  That part made her sad about them.  Why would they swoop in on another happy family just to take a couple of girls and not want to hurt them?  It was confusing to her.

[robehouse]

Frank and Patty slipped back at Sana and Ezrine. They watched them eat their breakfast, Frank wiping Ezrine's mouth occasionally. When Ezrine finished her juice Frank picked up her cup and refilled it.

After they had finished eating Frank helped Patty clear the table. He picked up Ezrine and carried her to the living room. He set her on the couch and then turned on the TV before sitting next to her. He found what he thought was a program she might like.

Patty brought Sana over to the sink. She handed her a dish cloth.

"Sana wash dishes? Patty dry." Patty said.

 

[Ishigreensa]

Ezrine sat in Frank's lap and wrapped her arms around him while she watched the television, or more like, glanced at it from time to time but not really understanding anything coming from it, was more interested in this nice man whose presence she was in.  She turned and touched his hands, and played with his fingers, and bounced up and down in his lap.  Basically, the eight year old was just playing.

Sana looked up at Patty when Patty tried to talk to her.

She realized being at the sink that there was work to be done, and she understood.  With a nod, she started to wipe the dishes with the sponge.  She had done this kind of thing before, so she knew how to wash dishes.

While she worked, she started to get the feeling that Patty was trying to bond with her or something.

Sana wiped the second dish and then looked at Patty with the dish in her hand not giving it over as she should.

"Why?" she said simply.

[robehouse]

Frank played with Ezrine as well, bouncing her and clapping her hands. He took her hands and covered her eyes for a few seconds before pulling them away.

"Peek a boo." He said.

Patty took the first plate from Sana and dried it before putting it away. She reached for the second and looked at Sana. She didn't realize what Sana was asking.

"Dishes are dirty. Work is good." Patty answered.

 

[Ishigreensa]

"Peek a boo," Ezrine eventually said thought it took a few times of him saying it for her to say it right.  She clapped and squealed and then said it in her own language twice for him, and repeated it again in English once she knew what she was saying.

Sana frowned.

"Dish dirty.  I see.  No why dish.  Why?"

She was trying hard to remember her English lessons.

"Why home?" she asked wondering if that would help.

[robehouse]

Frank smiled as Ezrine repeated what he said. He didn't understand what she said in her own language, but kept playing with her. He picked up the stuffed tiger.

"Tiger'" Frank said, rubbing the tiger against Ezrine's cheek.

Patty heard Sana say home and took the dish from her, setting it down. She took Sana's hand and went over to a chair. She sat down and pulled Sana into her lap.

"I can't have babies of my own. We tried adopting but it was hard. Dr. Rashadi said he could help. He brought you and Ezrine to us to be our girls. Understand?" Patty asked.

 

[Ishigreensa]

"Chi gar?" she tasted the word a bit and rubbed her own face against it.  "Chi gar."

Ezrine looked up at Frank and pointed at him, saying something in her own language.

..#"$!#$.. Ez Ree ne" she said.

 

Sana looked down.  Okay, so she couldn't have babies.  Does that mean she should take someone else's kids?  What gave her that right?  She wished she could ask these questions, but it seemed impossible.

"But Why Sana?" she asked pointing at herself.

[robehouse]

"Yes, Tiger!" Frank said.

Frank touched Ezrine's chest.

"You're Ezrine." Frank said, then touched himself.

"My name is Frank." Frank said.

 

Patty heard Sana and thought for a second. 

"Why did I pick you over other children? I looked at all the other children's pictures and you stood out. You were cute and looked like you needed me, or us." Patty said.

 

[Ishigreensa]

Sana looked down.

Why would Patty say that Sana needed her?  She looked so sincere when she said it.  Did Patty not know, then, what really happened?  Maybe she did, though, and she didn't like where she lived?  Sana didn't know what to say.

She sniffled a little.

 

Ezrine looked up at Frank and smiled.

"Furlahk?" she asked.  "Fu... Furlahkha?"  She was trying to roll the sound inside her head.  He spoke kind of funny to her, and his sounds were like nothing she had heard from adults before.

Suddenly, Ezrine pushed at Frank and squirmed in his lap like she was trying to get down.
