Grace smiled and nodded. "Thank you ma'am." Grace says

Jimmy stood up and walked over to the counter and paid the bill. He came back and got Grace out of the high chair. He took off her bib and handed it to Alexis.

"You did really good, baby. I'm proud of you. How about we get you home and you can try and use the potty before we get you ready for bed?"

Jimmy opened the back door of the car and slipped Grace in. He fastened her seat belt and slipped the pacifier in her mouth. He handed her her blankie.

"There you go, baby. Did you have a good time today?"

Grace suckled her binkie. She nodded smiling.

Jimmy got in the car and then drove home. It was about a half hour later when he pulled into the drive. Jimmy got out and got Grace out of the back seat. He got the potty out as well and carried them into the house. He set the potty down next to the couch and stood Grace up. He unfastened the straps of her shortalls and pulled them down.

"Since you are going to be dressed for bed, I am going to take all of your clothes off and Alexis will bring your night clothes. Isn't that right, honey?"

Jimmy had Grace step out of the shortalls and took her training pants off as well. He tugged her tee shirt over her head.

"All right. Time for Grace to go potty."

Jimmy helped Grace sit down on the potty chair.

"Yeah of course, babe." Alexis says and heads to their room to get ready and get Grace's PJs.

"I'm not sure. How would you like to go shopping? If you would rather stay home that is okay too. If we go shopping I can let you pick out a doll for yourself. How does that sound?"

Jimmy knelt down in front of Grace and smiled at her.

"We can go shopping, That sounds nice. But I've already got a teddy." Grace says.

"Well it doesn't have to be a doll, baby. We'll look around and see if there is something you want though. Lot's of girls have their beds covered with stuffed animals, But it's nice you have the teddy. Does he make you feel safe?" Jimmy asked.

Jimmy noticed that Grace hadn't used her potty yet.

"Don't you have to go potty, baby? I'll give you five more minutes to try, okay? Then Alexis can get you dressed for bed."

"No I don't have to go." Grace says. She thought she did though.

Jimmy smiled.

"Alright, baby. Let's get you ready for bed then."

Jimmy helped Grace to her feet.

"Honey did you bring a clean pair of training pants for Grace to wear with her pajamas?"

"Yes I did. Did you not go potty baby?" Alexis asks Grace.

"Thank you honey. No m&m's for our baby girl tonight, I'm afraid."

Jimmy took the panties and the pajamas. He opened the training pants and held them out in front of Grace so she could step into them and then pulled them up. He did the same with the pajama bottoms, then put her top on her.

"Let's get you some milky and you can go to bed. Okay baby?"

"Okay. I can sleep in my room tonight?" Grace asks.

"Yes, you can sleep in your room, but if you wake up from a bad dream, I want you to come in and wake us up. I don't want you to stay in your room and be scared. Can you do that for me?" Jimmy said.

Jimmy picked Grace up and patted her bottom.

Jimmy carried Grace to her room after she had the sippy cup. He pulled her covers back and laid her on the bed. he pulled the covers up on her and kissed her cheek.

"I'll stay here until you finished your milky, okay?" Jimmy sat down in a chair near the bed.

Jimmy picked up the Goodnight Moon book and opened it, Starting to read it to Grace. He turned the book as he finished each page so Grace could see the pictures.

Grace was starting to get a little tired from drinking her milk. She looked at the pictures.

Jimmy finished the book and set it aside. He saw her closing her eyes. Jimmy gently took the sippy cup from Grace and put it on the stand by the bed. He kissed her cheek.

"She's asleep now, honey. What do you think we should get on the shopping trip tomorrow? Do you think Grace is ready for her car seat yet?" Jimmy asked.
