"Marcie did mention something about a lazy eye, didn't she? We'll have to make an appointment with the optometrist soon. We should probably get both of them in to see the pediatrician ASAP as well. Just to make sure everything is okay, and so we're not scrambling to find one on the spot if one of them gets sick. And Sky will need referrals to specialists to monitor all her issues." Suddenly James slammed on the brakes. "Babe, I don't think Sky had her meds this morning. You didn't give them to her, did you?"

"Yeah you're right." Mary said. "Come Monday morning we'll call." They lived about a block from the hospital, and the children's hospital wasn't that far. "No, I didn't give them to her. I was with Ellie all morning."

Sky gripped onto the seat when James hit the breaks.

"Should we go back and get them? Or do you think she'll be okay til we finish shopping? I mean, we shouldn't be gone that long, right?"

"I think she'll be okay. That stuff builds up in your system. It's not like she hasn't taken it for a week."

"Okay, if you say so," James said and continued on. Soon they were at Target. "Come on princess," he said as he lifted Sky from the car. He grabbed a cart from the car corral and deposited her in the seat.

Mary grabbed a second cart and set Ellie in. "Okay,first off is carseats. What kind do you think they need? "

"Well, neither one is all that big," James pointed out as they entered the store. "What about those seats with the 5-point harness that convert to a high-backed booster when they're big enough? They're kinda pricey, but can you put a price tag on safety?" he asked. James was big on safety and had done his carseat research while they waited for a child to be placed with them; he was up to date on all the latest car seat recommendations.

"Okay, those sound good. Maybe ones that can be a normal booster later on as well." Mary led Ellie over to the carseats and pointed to the ones to choose from. "What design do you want baby?"

Ellie pointed to one that was a light green. The seat cover had little foxes, racoons, and other woodland animals.

"That's a great one!" Mary said and added it to the cart.

"Yes, that one looks perfect for you," James laughed as he grabbed it.

"Okay. Next up is pajamas. And then let's let the girls pick out some bedding. " Mary said leading Ellie to the pajama.

James followed Mary and took Sky out of the cart so she could walk around and look at the pajamas.

Ellie spotted a shorts set and reached for it. The top had a bunny on the front, and the bottoms were a carrot print. "Doze ones!"

"Good choice. Why don't you pick two more." Mary tossed the appropriate size into the cart.

Sky selected a lime green shorts set with a sleeping turtle on the shirt, a silky blue nightgown with clouds, and a yellow tsirt with a popsicle on it, and matching shorts with identical smaller popsicles.

Ellie perused the selection and finally chose a pink fairy print baby doll nightie with matching bloomers, and a set with rainbow striped shorts and a sky blue top with a smiling Sun.

Mary tossed everything into the cart and moved onto the bedding aisle.

Sky looked around and found a dark blue sheet set, with yellow stars, and a yellow comforter, with

"Yes, of course." James found the right size for Sky's bed and put it in the cart.

Ellie picked a set called "campground critters." It had a spring green background with various animals like foxes, raccoons, bunnies and bears. It had 2 throw pillows, one with a fox face and one with a raccoon face. The sheets were white with little camp fires, tents and canoes.

"You like animals, huh?" Mary asked smiling as she tossed it in the cart. She tossed in a waterproof sheet as well. "Okay, What else do we need?"

Ellie nodded. "I wub amnamals!"

"Okay. Maybe some fun towels too." Mary said maneuvering the cart. "Ellie liked the strawberry bubbles earlier, so let's get some more of that." She said, tossing in some body wash abd shampoo for the girls.

"Look at these," James said, holding up some hooded towels.

Ellie squealed when she saw a set with a fox and a raccoon and reached for it with grabby hands. "Wan' dat!"

Sky looked around. "Those!" She said, pointing to a set with a blue mouse, and a pink kitten. "Kitty and mouse! "

James got the towels, plus some matching washcloth puppets. "We better get some toys too. And books."
