Baby in the Office

[daddybrian]

"That is non-sense, Elizabeth. I love you as much as ever. If this has to do with the diapers and your having a weak bladder this makes absolutely no change at all in how much I love you. I know you want to play a lot more with me and cuddle a lot, but I have to do both all of my jobs plus those of your mother who left me behind. This means I have to do all the cooking, cleaning, and other stuff by myself. It is not easy, and I don't like it, but this is another ugly side of being a grown up." I kiss your little forehead.

[Shy-Diapers]

Elizabeth: but daddy we never get to play together anymore you used to play with me whenever I wanted and you would spin me around whenever i asked no matter where we were and we don't do that stuff anymore

I start crying even harder

[daddybrian]

"I know its hard for you to understand, Elizabeth, and perhaps a few new things I can learn to do. When you were younger and smaller, it was also a lot easier to do things that you wanted. Your diaper being seen at that age was totally acceptable and nobody thought anything. Your mother being with me to help out

[Shy-Diapers]

Elizabeth: we never get to do anything anymore daddy it's always daycare home dinner bed and then the same thing everyday you never even asked me if I liked daycare!

[daddybrian]

"Do you like the daycare?," Brian asks, suspecting he already knows what you will be saying next.

[Shy-Diapers]

Elizabeth: I like Ms. Kathryn, but the kids are mean and nobody ever wants to play with me and when I try to play with them they push me down and call me a baby

[daddybrian]

"You have only been there for two days, it's never easy being the new person in a place like that. It might take a week or longer before you are 'accepted' by the other kids. Maybe you can ask to help Ms. Kathryn or see about playing with a few of the younger children more."

[Shy-Diapers]

Elizabeth: I can't ask Ms. Kathryn daddy! Then everyone will think im a tattletale and then they'll never play its me!

I start crying again since you don't understand the social ladder of daycare

[daddybrian]

"It's not necessarily being a tattletale, Elizabeth. You are making yourself a junior helper to the staff there at the daycare center, and showing actually that you are able to take responsibility and in ways show up the other kids."

[Shy-Diapers]

Elizabeth: but I don't wanna be a junior helper I wanna be with kids my age who like to play what I do but they never let me even though we like the same thongs

[daddybrian]

Brian: Well, at least liking the same things is a start in the right direction. He smiles at Elizabeth. You will be fine I am sure in a few more days.

[Shy-Diapers]

Elizabeth: Daddy!

She yells out of the blue and then covers her mouth feeling like she's going to throw up not wanting to take her hand away from her mouth she starts to cry

[daddybrian]

Brian again hurries his little daughter to the bathroom, hoping that she is not getting sick.

[Shy-Diapers]

On the way to the bathroom i throw up on myself and my daddy and start crying both from not feeling well and from being embarrassed.

Elizabeth: Im sorry daddy

I manage to choke out through my tears

[daddybrian]

Brian waits patiently for Elizabeth to stop puking, then clean you up and get you into clean clothes. Then I go to the kitchen and turn off the chicken and take a shower to clean up myself. Once out of the shower I know have to call work and tell them that I will not be there for a few days because of a sick child.

[Shy-Diapers]

Elizabeth: im sorry daddy

I feel awful for getting sick on my daddy

Elizabeth: daddy! My tummy hurts!

I say almost crying again

[daddybrian]

"It happens, Elizabeth, as an adult. You need to calm down and relax, you are over stressing yourself which is probably what is making you sick." Brian sets up some pillows on the sofa and has Elizabeth lay her head on them. "Just breath slow and deep."

[Shy-Diapers]

Elizabeth: it hurts daddy

I start whimpering in pain

[daddybrian]

Brian decides to try one other act. He has Elizabeth sit on her little potty chair and a small trash can at her side, ready for anything that might come out of either side.

[Shy-Diapers]

Elizabeth: daddy! Make it stop hurting pwease!

I cry never having had a tummy ache like this before

Elizabeth: daddy! It hu-

Then i start throwing up again into the trash can this time and then I start having diarrhea and I cry even harder and louder than before

Elizabeth: daddy make it stop daddy pwease!

[daddybrian]

Brian quietly sighs relief. "Elizabeth, this time only you can heal yourself. There is no immediate cure for your upset tummy. But as I have said before, your not stressing out as much will be a big help to your body. You have been very emotional for the past two days, and this is your body's way of saying that you need to slow down and calm down."

[Shy-Diapers]

Elizabeth: daddy!

I reach out for you wanting to be held and cuddled needing some love

Elizabeth: daddy pwease? Daddy!

I say looking at your blurry image through my tear filled eyes while I continue to cry in pain and discomfort

[daddybrian]

I help my little sick daughter back to the sofa, and place my hand within easy holding reach for her. I know she wanted to be held, but I am trying not to risk getting any germs.

[Shy-Diapers]

I crawl onto your lap wincing with every movement in pain until im on your lap sobbing into your chest with a death grip on your shirt

Elizabeth: daddy.....hurts......weally bwadwy..........mwake........stop......daddy!

Are the only things understandable through my sobs and muffled voice due to me hiding my face in your chest

[daddybrian]

"I know your little tummy hurts," I say to you after you climbed on my lap. "But I have told you that I am unable this time to make your tummy feel better.
