Admitted I'm Gender-Independent & Pansexual

I finally told a good friend of mine that I don't see myself as any particular gender. I also told her that I've been alone so long that I don't care which gender I date. I have to say this is the happiest I've felt in years. She told me she knows some people which made my heart flutter with excitement! I honestly jump up when no one is around I've had a girlfriend in the past, so I want to try dating a guy now...Sometimes I get scared getting caught by people who know me though. Don't get me wrong, I am attracted to women (male to female transgender ladies too ) and get distracted all the time but seeing a cute guy that looks like they could pick all 5' 3'' and 100 pounds of me arouses me so much! I don't know if I should wait or just dive in because I'm a little scared when I think about when the relationship moves on to, um...sex. I'm turning 28 this Halloween (I'm going to be a Musketeer!) and I'm still a virgin. I've read a bit about safe sex since my pre-College schools didn't teach it very well. I don't want to get herpes or other diseases you get from contact alone (a condom won't save you there), but I'm afraid to get screened by my conservative doctor. I guess I can see my future partner's doctor? They will have to be screened too or they're not getting any! Another issue is my mustache and soul patch combo which I don't know if they will like it....I want to at least try it out this ski season to keep my face warm (and pull off my Halloween costume .
