Creepymouse
You probably haven't seen the bins full of unloved stuffies at the Goodwill distribution centers, for example. In our throw-away economy, there are simply too many toys manufactured simply to be thrown away. I don't doubt that the population of unloved stuffies is significantly larger than the population of children in the United States at least. She's simply putting trash to a creative use. lilJester
rather do something like that than just toss out an old worn out plushie. this way i'd still gt to keep it Link to comment
Bettypooh
Codymoogle, I DO so understand, but sadly it is true- few parents want their kids to have a used plushie near them. Apparently the grown-ups think used plushies have cooties or something During all the Christmas Toy drives I've been a part of, it was made clear that only new toys were wanted or allowed- one local Police group went so far as to check each and every toy that was donated for newness in public as they were brought in- the trash can next to their table was overflowing with perfectly good toys that would have made a child somewhere a lot happier than having nothing I don't know what happened but they weren't doing the event the next Christmas and haven't since. At least they could have done the sorting in private afterward like everyone else does. 1 Link to comment
DiaperPony
I guess I'm weird then.. once I discovered the cool stuffed animals at the thrifts, I get them for my kids all the time. My kids aren't really into bears at all (vast majority are teddy bears, which makes sense), so I pick up other animals when they have them. The stores have already thrown out the dirty toys so what I look at are clean and nice, even though they are used. Link to comment
