Little Matt
Developing countries aren't just in need of some 'starter kit.' There are countless issues at work and people in the public eye can actually do a lot of good by pointing them out. Emptying their bank accounts of a few hundred million is only going to do so much good and it's a bit unfair to ask for that as a requirement for the other thing. Link to comment

PeculiarChangeling
Question about the toilet water strike: how is peeing in a bucket going to help get water to people thousands of miles away? In fact, how is anyone going to check and confirm if these 'strikers' are even doing it? Is city sanitation going to say 'well look at the amount of water being flushed. It's so low! Let's do charity!' 1 Link to comment
Baby Brian
It's nothing more than a PR stunt, he probably used a toilet withing hours of that announcement. Hollywood celebrities do this kind of stuff all the time, if only to get back into the limelight a little more. Ignore them and they will eventually go away. Link to comment
willnotwill
Well fie on the toilet...sitting there, feeding off other people's doodoos while contributing nothing of it's own to society. 1 Link to comment
Honu
There already is a solution. First, the planet is 75% water. Most of that, however, is not potable. Lockheed Martin just announced development of a graphene filter that reduces the pressure required to filter water compared to reverse osmosis (http://web.mit.edu/newsoffice/2012/graphene-water-desalination-0702.html). Desalinizing sea water inexpensively is the key to solving the need for potable water. Link to comment
Darkfinn
We use perfectly potable water to carry away our wastes. Now tell me how stupid that is. Link to comment

ranger
I've been waiting for this. The Global warming hype is dying down, so back to the water conservation. Is that acid rain in the forecast? Link to comment
