I can't find a simple way to read a thread in "recent status updates". I also have no luck going to the blog section and finding the authors thread.

What am I doing wrong?

The "Status Updates" you see are complete- there's nothing more to look at elsewhere These optional and are set from your profile page I prefer using the upper toolbar (where the search box is) to navigate this site Vlick on the place you want to go and when it loads, click on "View New Content" on the upper right- you'll get the latest items listed from most recent to oldest. Ditto of the Blogs. If you click on the lower listings you get a list of all entries, not only the newest, then you can scroll to your heart's content
