Wetting Myself

I went on a trip to Indiana over winter break. I came back home to the lovely state of Texas on the 9th of January. From that day up until about the 23rd, I had been having accidents. Either completely, partially, or mostly wetting my pants.I'd been accident free for about three days and then they started up again.

The obvious solution that I think most people would pick will be just wearing a diaper and getting over it, but I'm really concerned as to what happened.

I went to the doctor for a non-related issue, but I made sure to mention the accidents to them. They just said "Oh, maybe it was stress" and didn't mention anything else. I haven't been back since then.

If it keeps up go back in, request a specialist if necessary. Sometimes stress or lifestyle changes can cause disruptions, but if it has lasted more than 2 weeks you need to get looked at. It could be just stress, it could be a minor bladder infection/inflammation or it could be a pinched nerve or something more serious.

There is nothing wrong with me, I just don't have good bladder control. So if I am in a situation where I can't make it to the restroom within 5-10 minutes of needing to go I wear protection. My family practitioner and gynecologist both say I'm fine, that's just the way things go for some women. However you never know until you've been checked.

Im not a woman but my wife has a hard time making it to the bathroom and she goes more than myself LUVSGURL is right get a specialist it culd be stress

I think the first question is: Has this happened before? If so than you know whether it will go away or not.

My wife has a week bladder so she wears Tena Pads when she wears panties. They are basically over sized maxi-pads, but are made for LBL. You can find them at virtually any store (Wal-Mart, grocery, etc...).

May I suggest use some form of protection for peace of mind, then seek medical advice, just to be on the 'safe side'. TenaLady pads or briefs are ideal and I highly recommend them. If the doctor you saw wasn't too helpful might I further suggest seeing another or being more forthright. Please keep the forum posted of developments! Very best wishes.

it is a sad fact but some doctors just put this sort of thing down as a i cant be bothered to see what is causing it,i had a doctor who told me that it was something that i would just have to put up with.

But when i moved and registered with another doctor,he did all the tests that he could,and then sent me to the hospital for more deeper investgations,and it was there that they found out that it was caused by nerve damage due to diabetis.

So i know just how you feel with your doctor and his attitude,hope things get better for you.

If you read on any package of diapers, it says to get yourself checked out....that message is there because incontinence is a symptom of something underneath that needs to be treated, like diabetes...or pinched nerves...or something else...and you want to take care of that problem. If your Dr isn't willing to look, get another Dr. That underlying problem can kill you, so you really want to know what it is.

Urine leakage / painful urination / overflow urination are all side effects of much more complicated problems. If you ever ask a doctor and he/she says that it is nothing to worry about OR it will clear up in a few days, tell that idiot that you don't pay him/her to dismiss you, fire him/her and go to another.

There are hundreds of diseases that change the toxidity of urine which forces the bladder to expel urine unpredictably, and NONE of them will self cure. Most, if left untreated, can damage the kidneys etc, which will force the patient to need either kidney dialysis/transplant.

Some doctors, rather than handle the paperwork of urinalyses (taking and examining ones urine), will dismiss the problem / suggest diapers/protection as a intermediary - permanent solution.
