dave_the_baby
Mine is nothing too exciting. Made it myself for school. Oh yeah...those images on my desktop were for a project I was doing in 3D Game Studio... Link to comment

subtledragon
Not very exciting, but I've had this one since I decided I wanted a parrot (and I'll tell you a secret... "Mustek 1200 Scan Panel" is a disguised porn folder ) Link to comment
AutieAB
I still don't keep that much on my VM, just bits and bobs that I want to keep separate from my main life so the desktop doesn't have many icons (c'mon, we all know the real reason for these threads is to snoop through the icons ) This is the current: Outside the VM, my desktop is normally absolutely smothered in icons and files dumped there temporarily. The image is normally some kind of space porn from NASA or ESA or something (often from this collection) Link to comment
Little BabyDoll Christine
I wonder if we could not use multiplie users with each user having a different desktop. I experimented with that some time ago but was not too competent with it.. If I could do that, I could use my ABLG desktop with icons to all those sites. Yes? No? Link to comment

In Windows, go to the Start Menu then Control Panel then 'Users' or 'User Accounts' or similar (depends on Windows version) and follow the instructions for adding a new user from there. Set a password on the second account if necessary but bear in mind that the password on most machines is not a guarantee that the account can't be accessed by anybody else (given enough knowledge). AutieAB
Then comes the quiestions of how I go between accounts and can I have different desktops for different accouhnts Start Menu -> Log off (or Start Menu -> Switch Users if it's there) and you then enter the username and password (if you set one) for the account you want to switch to. Yes, they are entirely separate and have their own settings: wallpaper, screensaver, colour scheme, etc, etc, etc. If you change one, it won't affect the other. They also will have separate desktop icons, My Documents folders, browser favourites & history, etc. The level of security between the accounts varies from low (Windows 95/98/ME) to high (newer versions, XP upwards) but if you're the only person who uses it, I doubt that's a concern. You need to go back into the main (administrator) account and change the new account to have administrator privileges Link to comment
amp501
This is my current desktop. I dig it. It's predecessor, my favorite for a year or two. Link to comment

Squidgy
Some nice & well-kept desktops here! I rarely change backgrounds; when I do it's usually something I created/shot, like this one showing the phases of the moon during a lunar eclipse on 3rd March 2007. ..and I like games Link to comment

DailyDi
Nice, how do you do the custom fonts on the desktop? Link to comment
Little BabyDoll Christine
That was part of the theme. which is all explained and available in this link desktop, wallpaper and screensaver The font is Abarssos. If you want to create a them in Windows go to Properties/Appearance and advanced, it lets you sellect colors fonts and font size and color for all the things like active windows, icons, etc you set that up. you can make a background and this background is underlaid on the desktop so that the icons and their names show up If you look at the page in the link, you see the theme itself. A theme file is .theme and goes in My Documents. If you don't have the font (Abrassos) that is included in the theme package which is a zip file I think I will start experimenting wiht anigif backgrounds Here is one that I am sure some persons would like :giggle: Link to comment
