Assurance Underwear Overnight Protection, Discontinued?

Recommended Posts

I had settled on the "Assurance Underwear Overnight..." darker purple package of pull-ups as they hold a TON of liquid for what they are... Now the last three or four times in Wal-Mart (man I hate that place) they didn't have that they only had the "Assurance Underwear Maximum..." which is identical except a more redder package... oh and they hold about 2/3 or 1/2 the liquid :(((( I hope it was a backorder type of thing, but it isn't looking good as it has been at two different stores spread over a month now and none have them... Anyone have any insight on this? Teh Google, it helps none... Thanks!

Yeah the assurance your talking about is gone, it is being replaced with the cloth like covers, I won't buy the cloth covered diapers, they were my cheap go to diaper, but I moved on now I buy ATN's and Abena with plastic covers.

"Mine" always had the cloth backing... I prefer the cloth backing as it is much quieter. I have gotten to the point that I wear randomly (I go in spurts, no pun intended), but anytime except when around family (other than my wife, who knows all my 'kinks') including work etc... Well now that I have explained my preference over cloth backing (even though I have a Bambino on right now lol)... The "Assurance Underwear Maximum..." and the "Assurance Overnight..." are nearly identical pull-ups with the cloth backing... the overnight version holds a lot more liquid than the maximum. I have the Depends for Men and another brand of pull-up and neither holds 1/2 of what the assurance overnights hold. I can wear the overnight all day, wetting in it 2 or 3 times (not a full on wetting but whenever I feel a moderate need) through the day and show up home after a full day at work with no or little leaks.... With the maximum I have to control my wettings to avoid leaks (the overnights allow me to do the first or second wetting full "speed").. anyways, the overnights are in tha purple package and the maximums are in a dark red of otherwise identical style packaging.. they both cost about the same price, but the are area few more of the maximums in one package (as they are thinner) than in the overnights....

Either way, thanks for your post... Now, another question: Anyone know a good brand of pullup/underwear that is cloth backed that holds a lot of liquid as I described above, that can be purchased locally here in the southeast USA? I have read that the CVS ones are crap, how about the other store brands (such as food lion, walgreens, bi-lo, etc etc)?

Thanks much for anyone that has managed to read all this!

Hey glad to see I’m not the only one that discovered the Assurance overnight underwear is gone. If you read the fine print on the package there is a phone number for information. This is the same number posted on the Rite-aid brand products. And yes they have an overnight version. I’m not sure but one of the packages also listed a website http://www.incontinent.com/ If you check out the available retailers Walmart is not listed so can't figure what is going on.

The Rite-Aid version of the overnight brief does not appear to be as heavy as thge Assurance brand however they do hold a lot of liquid. K-mart, Eckards now part of Rite-Aid and Longs now part of CVS are also list as retailers for the overnight products but I have yet to get to the store to check it out. At the K-mart site one reviewer said they were great but hard to fine for in store purchase.

Dam shame Wally world dropped the product. It was great running in there early AM for purchases and you could not beet the pricing at less than $9.00 for 16 medium size briefs. Just for the heck of it I also checked three other Wall-mart locations and came up dry so to speak so we’re not the only ones that liked this product.

Please post or PM me if you find new information on this product.

Thanks, I will keep an eye out and I will try to check out those stores (all except Longs, never heard of that one) and see what we have... I am really really missing these... the "Super Plus" ones hold about 1/2 as much IMHO... If anyone else has any news let me know...

EDIT: I just found this, thanks to "Loveable_guys" help! Different package, same item (Small/Medium with 16 per pack)....

http://www.kmart.com/shc/s/p_10151_10104_038W175959110001P?mv=rr $10 and they ship! Don't know shipping yet though..

EDIT2: And here is the Rite-Aid equivalent... again, the wording is the same, package nearly the same and there are 6 in the Sm/Med pack.... sweet..

http://www.riteaidonlinestore.com/products/prod.asp?pid=207982&catid=99774&trx=GFI-0-BCRP-72739&trxp1=99774&trxp2=207982&trxp3=1&trxp4=1&btrx=BUY-GFI-0-BCRP-72739

Best thing is, there is only three things I needed to go to walmart for: these and two other things -- their brands are the best for the cost/quality on the three things... two more replacements and I never have to step foot in that store (I wish lol)..

I am sure all the other stores on incontinent.com would have them as well. just need to look for the brand that says "Maximum Protection" "Overnight" and that they Sml/Med has 6 in the pack..

K-Mart was out of stock online (after trying to order, they could have saved me time on that one)... but Rite-Aid had it.. I have several packs on order.. I will let ya'll know if they are identical to the old Assurance brand ASAP....

The Rite-Aid overnight is good but not as good as the Assurance Overnite version was. At least thats how i see it. Have to make trip to K-mart to see if they have the overnights.

Please let me know what you think of the Rite-Aid.

IMHO the Rite-Aid Overnight is the exact same 'underwear' as the Assurance Overnight. I received the order a few days ago (but only right now have I had the chance to try/use one)... and I feel back at "home" with these.. hopefully they are not discontinued (since both walmart and kmart are/were out of their version)... even the rite-aid packaging had the purple section on the top, just like the Assurance ones.

One interesting fact, I ordered from the rite-aid website -- but they came in a drugstore.com packaging (I could NOT find this type of diaper ON that website though)... so that tells me that one company owns the entire world now (gotta love corporate America)...

The banner at the top of their website shows why it came in a Drugstore box:

Evidently, they deemed it more profitable to get into bed with Drugstore than set up a website, payment handling system, warehouse, etc, etc, all of their own...

Nice catch! I am glad they did the partnership though as I can not find this brand on drugstore.com (there might still be a common owner in the corporate chain, which I do not doubt)
