? Sent Messages

Another member sent me a PM. I replied, he re-replied, expected a reply but I was off line for a while, he thought he lost me. Anyway, I went to sent msgs. and there were none shown so I couldn't exactly trace the correspondence until I went back to my inbox.

Are replies not shown in "Sent Messages"?

By default, replies do not show up in "sent messages". You have to select that as an option when you are composing your message to place a copy in your "sent messages" folder. I, myself, would prefer that option be checked by default, and for the same reasons you've mentioned. It just seems more logical to me that a message which has been sent would show up in the sent messages folder, and that I shouldn't have to do anything about that.

What I don't know is if this was a deliberate choice in setting up the messaging system, or if this is something which can potentially be changed.
