WP, the Cosy Corner is open to all, regardless of political, religious or idealogical orientation, as well as the other stuff.

So, while the 'commie' stuff is kind of okay for the chat room, it most definitely is unwelcome here. Consider that a 'heads up', because otherwise, you will hear a lot of stuff from other people about intolerance and stuff like that, and you won't be welcomed here.

Dolly, if you don't know, you may truly not, the term 'Commies' refers to Communists, usually Russians and the former Soviet Socialist Republic. In the 1940s 1950s there was Senator Joseph McCarthy, you can Google for the details if you do not know them, who was a 'Commie hater.' Only, he actually hunted down people who were Communist, witch hunts is what they were. In retrospect, it wasn't pretty.

There is nothing inherently wrong with Communism, per se, in small amounts and in controlled conditions it will work very nicely, but the problem is that after a while, some person wants to 'lead', and then you're into some sort of dictatorship.

Off my soap box now, except to say; WP, not in the forums, in any way, shape or form, or *I* will report you for 'abuse.'

My apologies Gary, I didn't mean any harm. Maybe I should give a little background. One of the video games that I am playing is set during the height of the cold war and as it is intended to be humurous it somewhat mocks the reaction that many americans had toward communism during that time. One of the characters incessantly accuses all the others of being 'commies'. However funny I found that, I can see how it could possibly offend someone and I sincerely apologize.

WP, I didn't think any harm was intended. I didn't know why you came up with that, right now it is so archaic. However, let's just say that I wanted to squash any possibility of someone being hurt later on down the line. So, that's why I came on a bit heavy.
