  1. I started on Bass Guitar, then I hit the Guitar (Acoustic and Electric), I've always dabbled with Keys, and then finally, and maybe it doesn't count as playing an instrument, but I program just about any kind of instrument now with notation software, which allows me to "play" whatever instrument I want whether I know how to play it or not, just so long as I know how it's supposed to be played. This piece is really very long, but I wrote it specifically so that it would never get boring. I think if you did aerobic exercises with it all the way through you'd probably die from exhaustion. I produced it quite a few years ago, and so my methods were different in that they were archaic with sound straight from my notation software, which worked out surprisingly well provided I worked with it a lot. I still hadn't figured out how to adjust the strict quantization of notes and staves to eliminate what may seem like an automated quality in certain passages, but I've since solved that problem. Still, I love this thing, so much so that I don't mind putting my real name on it.
  2. I use several. For composition I don't use a DAW, I use Sibelius 7, but then I rip all the staves to .wav files with licensed East West library audio, except for any MIDI tracks I need for running soft synths. Then I'll use NCH Mixpad and its companion sound editor Wavepad to fully develop all the waveforms. Sometimes I also use the freeware version of Reaper just to take advantage of some really cool VSTi synths that I downloaded for free. I also have the Zeta synth that runs as a plugin on Sonar. Then I do the real mixing in Cakewalk Sonar Artist. I might move up to Protools, but that would be another monthly bill to pay, and honestly, Sonar sounds great, so I really don't see a reason to waste any money.
  3. Yes I'm brand spanking new here and I know I belong because I really REALLY need to wear diapers at least about 40% of the time, and I know how I got this way. 38 years of psychotherapy will eventually pay off, but it's very tedious so I don't know if I should recommend it. Don't get me wrong, I really REALLY like to wear diapers too, but it always bothered me terribly because I could never stop thinking that I had to wear them, and I still can't. The other thing that bothered me was all the undeserved shame. I only realized that the shame was undeserved when I gained an understanding of the circumstances that led to what I might call a symptom, and what many generally refer to as infantilism. For me it constituted a significant problem for decades. I'm fortunate to have gotten the help that I need though since I have - shall I say - more serious psychological disorders - neurobiological illnesses that can't be fixed with talk therapy, but illnesses that can only be treated with good drugs. I don't prescribe for myself though, and I don't like alcohol either, not that it bothers me when other folks drink it, except when they get stupid drunk, which is when I find an exit. As for street junk, well, they don't call it junk for nothing. I never go near it. I'm a long time musician, bassist, guitarist, independent producer, and composer, which is what keeps me from losing my sanity entirely. I'm a little looney, but I'm a happy looney. And I know now that I'm definitely not the craziest guy around. Not by a LONG shot. P.S. Here's a free track for you to download. This is not a personal ad. Part 8.mp3
