I only wear for fun, but do incontinent people have to see a therapists about wearing diapers?

I have spent more than a few sessions dwelling on being in diapers, it can kill your self esteem real quick. Some of us adjust well, some of us don't. At one point or another, I'm sure all of us hate it. Its odd to live in a society where you have a medical problem thats looked at as down right disgusting. But on a lighter note...

    "Dammit Otto, you're an alcoholic."

    "Dammit Otto, you've got lupus."

One of those two don't sound right.-Mitch Hedberg ;P

  2. I change right before I think I'm not going to want to get out of bed again for the night lol

I have always had a plastic sheet on my matress, which is definitely (but embarassingly) a good idea when my diaper leaks at night.

  3. I usually go through 5 or so Attends a day, unless I'm having a late night and drinking lol umm if I wear cloth I tend to change more than that 'cause they dun feel right when they start getting wet, plus I can wash them so I'm more inclined to try and feel more dry when I can -=\

  4. I have some in a few different colors. I really only wear cloth when I'm at home because I totally don't have clothes or wanna have some sorta baggy sense of fashion. I guess if I'd say my favorite pair I have is these cute semi-translucent ones with polka dots on them. =)

  5. I remember running to the bathroom senior year, having accidents, wearing pads for months on end until those just became useless.

I remember the first day I got out of the shower, thought about all of the nervous wreckness I was and decided to wear my night time diapers all day.

It felt really great to not have to worry about ANYTHING, and after a long and heavy talk with my parents, we agreed that perhaps wearing them all the time was for the best until the doctors could help me figure something out.

And nearly four years later...its just getting old. Ugh. But don't mind me, I'm really tired.

  6. Talking to others can be hard,if they have never been there it is difficult to understand all the aspects of incontinance .As you said ,the pulling up the diaper or repositioning it or having leaks etc can all seem to them like we are doing this for attention when it is just all a part of the situation. Most of the people i know don't seem bothered by my diapers but i do have a brother in law and his family that wont have anything to do with me because of the diapers( and i didnt even leak on the furniture)But that is their lose not mine. All in all i just go along day to day and live my life as is.

I'm sorry to hear about that dpr13ca =(

I guess I've been blessed with great friends and family, but like I said in an earlier post I really don't think about it too much. Its kinda second nature to me by now, but any thing I need to do as far as diaper issues its pretty much handled behind closed doors in a bathroom. I hate going to public restrooms for that very reason, especially with a bunch of girl friends but I just let it go the best I can. Err..bad pun. But really..its not so much a physical disability as it is a social one.

  7. My best "coping" mechanism is to not really think about it. I don't let the fact I'm incontinent really run my life. I mean, yeah, I hang around here more often than I probably should lol..but I'm discreet, and really don't refrence or lead on that I'm inco.

After all...I can hear, see, stand, walk, talk..how is it exactly a disability other than a social one? =)

  8. Some recent events around me has made it impossible for me to come around much anymore.

And, soon enough, I'm not going to be able to come around at all because of things.

So...I wanted to say thanks everyone for the fun and support I've had in the chat. I'll miss this place, and it was definitely better than any other site like this I have ever found and frequented.

I hope your lives go well and happy!

    Yours Truly,

    allexus
