  1. I just wanted to know if anyone was reading my post. LOL No really, someone was a the door, and I didn't want to retype the whole story, so I posted it knowing I could finish later, so here it is: The front door was locked, as were all of the windows. There was a combination padlock on the outside of the garage door that I had from my high school locker and that I hadn't opened in several years. I addition to that, the garage door was on the far side of the house from the gate, so I would have to cross the entire width of the house to get to the driveway. Needless to say, this was not an attractive option given that everyone on the street would get a good look. I could break a window, but that would require an explanation to my wife. Now what do I do? Here's what I did: I climbed onto the roof of the storage shed that ran along the side of the house on the driveway side. I was hidden from the neighbor on that side by the aforementioned tall hedge and on the other side by the roofline of the house. I made my way to the front, and climbed down to a relatively private area behind the boat in the driveway. Taking a deep breath and hopeing that I remembered the combination to the padlock correctly, I boldly walked across the double driveway, fully in view of any neighbor who might care to look, and frantically spun the dial of the combination lock. Thankfully, I got it right the first time. The lock snapped open, I slid the bolt back, lifted the garage door and slid under it to safety. I was able to jimmy the lock between the garage and the house, and quickly pulled a pair of sweat pants on over my diaper. Did that stop me from working in the backyard in just D's and T's? Nope, but I always make sure that there is another way into the house before going outside in just my diapers.
  2. Once, when my wife was at work, I decided to do some yard work in just D's and T's. We lived on a canyon lot at the time so the nearest house to the back was over a quarter of a mile away. There was a house on each side, but one was completely blocked by a tall hedge and by the house, and on the other side there was a 6 foot wooden fence. I had surveyed the entire yard for visibility, getting down to diaper level and looking to see if my diapers would be visible from any of the neighbor's windows or any area of their yard. All clear. No visibility. Good to go. Or so I thought. I pinned on a cloth diaper, snapped on my plastic pants, and pulled on my t-shirt. I went out the sliding glass patio door into the back yard. I worked for about an hour or so, and worked up a thirst. I decided to go in and get a cold beer. I went to the sliding door and pulled. It slid about 2 inches and stopped. OH NO!!! The cat had pushed the dowel that we used for security into the track of the sliding door. There I was, in just a diaper and t-shirt, locked out of the house.
  3. My mother put me back into night diapers when I was three for wetting the bed. That lasted just a few months before my grandmother found out and (I believe) chastised my mother for diapering me. I continued to wet the bed until about age eleven and I asked my mother several times in several different ways to put me back into diapers. I remember finding an ad for "bedwetter pants" in the magazine section of the Sunday newspaper and showing it to her. She just said that I was too big for diapers. Another time, she was repairing a pair of green, snap-on plastic panties for my little sister. I wishfull asked: "who are those for?" She told me they were for my sister, because she was the only one who wore diapers. There were several other times that I asked for, or hinted at wanting, diapers, but the answer was always the same.. I started wearing makeshift diapers when I was about seven or eight. I would take large rags from the rag bag (often parts of sheets and old towels) and pin them on. I would make plastic pants out of large plastic bags with leg holes cut in them. These were hard to come by, beccause in those days fewer things came packed in plastic bags. About the age of 14 or 15, I started ordering my diapers from Sears. This was a challenge in itself, because the Sears store was at a mall about 20 miles away and I had to ride there with my family. Fortunately, we went there almost every week. When we got there, the family would split up and go in different directions, agreeing on a place and time to meet later. I would go to the catalog order department and order my diapers and plastic pants. The next week, when we split up, I would go back to the catalog department, pick up my diapers, and take them to the car. In those days, the car was never locked, so I would hide the diapers in the spare tire well of our station wagon until we got home. I'm just glad we never had a flat tire on the way home.
  4. I buy my diapers from http://www.adultclothdiaper.com/ and my plastic pants and diaper pins from http://www.plastic-pants.com/ I prefer the guaze diapers because they absorb faster and also dry faster after washing. I also use a cotton "birdseye" weave diaper as the top diaper when double diapering. Birdseye seems to wick better than guaze and holds the pee more securely (doesn't "squish" out when sitting or turning over in bed). I am a big guy so I wear a pretty big diaper. Regular diaper pins just won't hold my diaper up when it's wet, so I buy the heavy guage diaper pins from http://www.plastic-pants.com/ . Although the 3" "big baby" pins may be appealing on some level, I have found that for everyday use, the regular size 2 1/4" pins are more comfortable. Velcro diapers are convenient, and I have several, but I prefer the feeling of the pin on diapers that my mother used on me as a child.
  5. Hey,Hey, Hey..... Take it easy on us old dudes..... Actually, I can understand your position. I would probably be uncomfortable if I went to a munch and everyone else there was a twenty-something male. Variety being the spice of life, it is much easier to carry on the aforementioned intelligent conversation if: A: You have something in common (ie. age) with others in the group. Or: B: There is enough diversity in the group to expand the possible topics of conversation. Just like a group event in any other social environment, there is almost always common ground that can lead to an interesting and entertaining conversation, and it usually has very little to do with the common interest that pulls us together. While sharing experiences, ideas and opinions on the best diapers and supply sources can be helpful, about ten minutes is all it takes to wear out the subject. After that, other common ground becomes essential to continue the conversation. Because of the nature of our common interest, many people are reluctant to open up and share even the most mundane personal information including type of work, hobbies, other interests, etc. So it is sometimes difficult to find that common ground at first, but it is there, and I have never found it impossible to eventually find it.
  6. Try Lifestyles Emporium in Santa Cruz. I don't know if they are still in business, but their site is still active. They have been very active in the past with a lot of quality products. http://lifestylesemporium.com/
  7. I have purchased Molicare Super Plus at Park Boulevard Pharmacy in San Diego. It is at the corner of Park Boulevard and University Ave near Balboa Park. It has been a couple of years since I bought them (I usually wear cloth diapers) so you should call and check if they still carry them before driving down from north county.
  8. Probably not the first. Maybe the first openly AB/DL-run law firm
  9. I mostly walk for excercise, usually 3-4 miles a night. Sometimes I need to pee while out, and there are not any places to go on the route that I take, so I often wear a diaper while I walk. I usually wear cloth diapers with plastic pants, but I find that they are too bulky for comfortable walking, so I wear Bambinos to excercise in. I sometime will walk to the local park, and run on the grass for a while, but haven't worn diapers there yet.
  10. Have you tried being proactive? I don't mean starting out with an invitation to meet, but with a few friendly messages and e-mails, etc. Some people are ready to open up, and others want to stay in the shadows, but no one is going to expose their secret selves to someone until they are comfortable with who they are chatting with. I had coffee this morning with a DD member that I met online and exchanged messages with. We had never met before, and the hour or so that we spent talking included a lot more topics than just diapers. We talked as people with a common interest and a lot in common, but just as many or more differences. I hope that we will remain friends and will add to our circle in our area, but it all started with one message, and then a reply. A journey of a thousand miles starts with a single step, and that step is initial contact. Not every step leads to a journey of a thousand miles, but you will never know until you take that first step, and then the second, etc. Good luck, and happy meetings
  11. I notice that in your profile you list your location as "behind my laptop." I understand the need for maintaining anonymity, but I think that this is counterproductive when it comes to meeting people. You don't have to list your location as 123 Main St, Anytown, USA, but a general idea of where you are in the world will open up all sorts of possibilities for you. If you list a general location, others in that vicinity have more incentive to contact you and become your friend. You have something in common. Then, if you decide you meet in person, there is a connection and a proximity. It is a great door opener. Try it, you might like it.
  12. I wish that would happen to me....
  13. In my previous post I forgot to mention; while laying back in the dentist's chair while the dentist is working.

    Older Women?

As always, Angela, this is a well written and insightful response. A fascinating story. I still have some of those TPP's laying around as well as old DPF newsletters and miscellaneous printings from infantae press. I guess I will have to get them out and re-read them in light of knowing a little background. Thanks for all you do for the community.
  15. Sitting at the bar drinking a beer, paying for purchases at a store, at the theater watching a movie, driving down the street or freeway, laying on the grass at the park, laying on the beach, working in my garage, on my exercise walk, sitting in the chaise lounge on my back deck. All of these and more. I never saw a place that I didn't enjoy wetting...
  16. It sounds like a nice group of people you work with.

    Older Women?

Hey, Hey, Hey...... Be careful with the use of that term "old." Especially when describing people "over 50." I'm 55 and still wearing diapers, so I guess that isn't "old"
  18. I was sitting in my favorite bar, surrounded by regulars, people I knew. I had been sitting for a couple of hours when I realized that my diaper had leaked. I was wearing dark pants, but not dark enough to cover a bad leak, so I paid my tab, sidled toward the lobby facing everyone I knew so that they wouldn't notice my soaking wet butt, and, as soon as I got to the well lighted lobby, I RAN to the door and out to my car. When I got in the car, I looked back at the door, and the bartender was standing there, looking at me with a WTF? look on his face. He had noticed my quick exit. Nothing was ever said, so I guess he wasn't curious enough to ask.
  19. For years I have been envious of people who have been able to achieve a "puffy" look to their diapered bottoms. My plastic pants always had a droopy look to them. Even adding more diapers didn't achieve the look that I wanted. Since I have been loosing a little weight lately, I decided to try a smaller size plastic pant. As soon as I pinned on my cotton gauze diaper and pulled on my new medium size nursery print plastic pants, I looked in the mirror and..... voila' Puffy pants.... I guess a smaller size worked Size DOES matter What did YOU think I was referring to?
  20. I still have all of my DPF newsletters from the same timeframe in storage. I could copy them and send them to you to replace the ones you lost. I doubt that anyone would care about copyrights at this stage. It might take me a while to get to it though.
  21. I was averageing 110-120K until the economy did a face-plant. Now I am lucky to make 1/3 of that. Fortunately, I have been through down economies before, so I have been very frugal for the past few years, and I have some savings to get me through. If the "friends" that I have helped out by lending money to in the past would just pay me back, I would be able to breathe a lot easier.
  22. I hope you had a great time, (past tense since this is monday, after the weekend) I haven't been to Disneyland in probably thirty years... I used to go all the time when I lived closer. Whenever relatives would visit, it was a natural. Now it's Sea World. Some day soon I hope I can make it back to see Mickey.
