  1. Hi Incondl-- As I posted above, you might try removing the small 200cc bag and affixing your leg-bag tube directly to the Liberty device (eliminating the small bag completely). I did this, with better results. Good luck with your continuing test; please keep us posted with further results. Gimwet
  2. I think that's one of the advantages of the Liberty product; flooding was when I'd "blow off" most of the condom caths. The product seems to allow easier flow with less backup---just make sure all your other connections are secure! BTW, I also used them with the bag removed---just the attaching part connected to the tube to the leg bag. That small bag seemed silly to me, and it's removeable. Gimwet
  3. Knuxie-- This device affixes to the head of the penis (only), and its adhesive is not hard or harmful for skin, as with most condom caths. The material they have developed moves with the skin, and doesn't have the same problems with coming loose, etc. that are so common to condom caths. There is still the necessity of tubes and bags, of course. Gimwet
  4. Hi-- I've tried the product, and it is, in my experience, a step up from condom caths and other external devices. The bags are connected by tubing to a larger leg or thigh bag, because the provided one is very small for anyone with more than dribbling. I looked into getting this system, only to find that my insurance covers it so poorly through their distributor that the distributor won't handle it (this is in California only, apparently). My urologist is still encouraging me to investigate botox, but for now, it's diapers for me. Gimwet
  5. Get to your doctor soon, maybe it's just a stone, or infection. But even these can cause serious trouble, So don't waist to much time mulling it over.
  6. Hi-- Kins usually ships to West Coast within a week or so---seems very reliable. Gimwet
  7. Hi Rusty--- I use the Odor Cleanse tablets available from Adult Cloth Diaper.com; they seem to reduce odors and do not change the color of excretions as chloryphyll tablets do. I take one in AM and one at night. Prices and quantity at the site. Gimwet
  8. Since I've been incotinent and diapered 24/7, I found quickly that my skin was best with cloth and waterproof pants; this required a diaper pail. My wife noted that the pants actually held more odor than the diapers after washing (I do the diaper laundry, incidentally...)! She did some research, and found (probably on infant diapering sites) that soaking waterproof pants (mine are vinyl or nylon) in a solution of water, vinegar, baking soda, and some hydrogen peroxide will keep them from carrying the smell. I hand rinse them and dry about 20 minutes in the dryer (in with my diapers) to get the elastics at least pretty dry, then air dry the rest. I'm using a similar solution for the diapers themselves, and there isn't any odor to speak of in the bathroom where it's kept. I've tried putting a bit of detergent and/or borax in the solution, but it's not better than the other solution in outcome after washing. BTW, I'm simply using the diaper pail available at adultclothdiaper.com, which holds 2-3 days of diapers. I fill it almost halfway with the water and other ingredients. Hope this is helpful. Gimwet
  9. Hi Thomas-- There is a Bladder control forum at http://www.bladder-control-forum.com/cgi-b...m/forum_show.pl which might be useful to you; occasionally Depend.com boards are useful (moreso than their products!). Also, among the Yahoo groups, you might look into Adult Incon Support and another one called Incon. Hope this helps Gimwet
  10. Hi Baby Eddie-- 2 possible tests they may want to do, 1) a flow test, to see how quickly the bladder voids when full, and 2) ultrasound after to check for any residual urine still in the bladder. Very common tests, and painless; diagnostic for what's going on with urinary symptoms. I've had both of these, along with Cystocopy and finally urodynamics. Urologist pronounced my bladder "weird". 11. I suggest you get a product for "pet accidents"; we have some at home and it works very well. For instance, last night I apparently slept on my stomach, and when that happens, even my cloth diapers and vinyl waterproof pants don't always contain if I wet heavily (which I generally do, anyway). The wetness even went beyond the bed-pad I always have under the sheet, onto the pillow-like matress cover. This morning I stripped the bed (and pad) for the laundry, sprayed the area with the product, and waited for it to dry. Just as the other times I have had to use it, it worked very well. No smell, no stain. Remarkable. The label seems to indicate that it is for all kinds of accidents, even blood, etc. Certainly, the odors will be limited if you keep the linens clean, and I do recommend bed pads. I use the ones from AP Medical, and they are about 34" x 36" and cost about $12 each. I own several.... Gimwet
  12. Hi Dave--- 36 is horribly low for anyone's blood glucose. If eating something doesn't appeal, at least drink something that will provide some glucose into the system----sugared sodas are ok, Orange juice probably better. Protein bars are good when eating schedules are inconsistent and you are working; no mess, but something going down. Your body (and brain) need fuel to operate; running this low can actually cause cellular loss in the brain for lack of fuel (glucose is the only fuel the brain can use---all food essentially converts to glucose to power the body). Please take care----this is serious in both short and long-terms. Gimwet
  13. I believe that the blood glucose levels would be going UP, not DOWN if you are developing diabetes. Mine came on quite suddenly in 2001; a week or slightly more of sudden, massive symptoms which culminated in blurred vision----after the thirst, frequent /urgent urination, leg cramps, weight loss, loss of appetite, and energy loss. Saw a M.D. after fasting 14 hrs (anticipating blood work) and had a blood glucose of 295. Incontinence started much later, after the sugars were much better controlled, although during the initial phases I used some pull-ups just in case. My serious incontinence started late last year, and now I'm in Cloth/Pants 24/7. Big adjustments, but workable. Stiill work a full schedule, and only family know of this aspect of my medical problems. Your symptoms are not completely consistent with diabetes----but keep seeing the doctors, please! It's a maybe or maybe not situation regarding the possibility of diabetes, but your symptoms certainly indicate something is significantly amiss. Best to you, and please keep us posted. Gimwet
  14. Hi-- I'm curious, and a bit confused. The doctors I have been dealing with seem surprised to find that I have developed incontinence, seemingly as a result of my diabetes (diagnosed about 4.5 yrs. ago). From what I read on incontinence/diaper boards, this is not unusual as a complication of diabetes, but the urologist and my primary M.D. both seemed to not consider it expectable or even part of the syndrome. Any others with diabetes and incontinence as a possible result? I had back surgeries in lower back >20 years ago, too, but these symptoms have increased over the past year to the point of total urinary incontinence at night (cloth diapers required---no disposable worked with the output!) and some milder accicents during the day (disposable underwear). Fortunately, urological tests have ruled out prostate and other cancer concerns, but the difficulties remain. I'd like to hear any others' experiences with diabetes and UI. Gimwet
