  1. “Beautiful manners, Ry! Of course you can have them,” nanny Lyn cheerfully answered the 12 year old in the cute sailor outfit, pressing the correct combination of buttons and watching the machine drop the packets of snacks and BLT sandwiches into the bottom tray. She blushed faintly when he called her the best person ever. “Aw, thank you, Sweetie. Look…there you go! They dropped into the bottom for you. You can go ahead and grab them now”. She urged gently, listening to him talk. “Dogs are pretty wonderful; man's best friend,” she agreed with him, nodding, “Ahh…you mean, Blue from Blue’s Clues? I like her, too,” she said with a smile. “She’s friendly, helpful and so pretty with her blue fur and spots. I don’t think I’ve seen another blue dog before that I like quite as much”. Once Ry had grabbed up the food and was holding onto the packets, she looked at them in his arms and thought a moment, glancing at the bag on her shoulder. “You know, you can put some of those in the diaper bag if you want and I’ll carry them for you. That way, your hands are free to carry one snack at a time and make it easier to eat,” she offered kindly. “Pick one now and hand me the other two”. =================================================== While Miss Lily waited for Aurora to speak up, Castile was also looking at the interactive map with Samuel. “Whoa, that’s cool! It gives you a preview before you get there~” he exclaimed, watching the video of the manta rays and idly wondering what one would taste like and if you could eat them. Being a person of a catlike nature, all the fishy creatures around appealed to his feline instincts to some degree. Although it was probably sacrilege to think about eating a manta ray. But the ocean seemed like a huge buffet to the cat taur in some ways. “They look so peaceful, gliding around in the water, gently flapping their wings,” he said, forgetting the word for fins in the moment, the way the manta rays’ fins moved reminding him of birds gracefully flying underwater. Silly kitty. “I wanna see…uhh…well, they’re all pretty great to me! I love fish,” Castile declared boldly. “Hey, maybe we should have fish and chips when we get back home, for dinner tonight!” he suggested as the idea struck him. He noticed a section on the map and pressed a button, his eyes landing upon the video of a tank with a rainbow coloured shrimp in it “Ohhh! Neat! Rainbow shrimp!” he burst out excitedly. “He’s almost as colourful as me, ha ha ha!” Castile joked, his tail swishing playfully. “I definitely gotta see that thing!” The ‘thing’ in question was a Mantis Shrimp. And it could punch so fast that it boiled the water around it. He’d probably find it hilarious that it karate punched its prey to stun them before it chowed down. Probably half cooked them too.
  2. ((Yep, so...the low FODMAPS diet didn't fix me, lol. And due to my crappy health issues, mainly from frequent IBS attacks and tiredness, I have been SLOW as per usual. Sorry, guys. Thanks for being patient with me. I hope I can get this health stuff fixed this year, at least.)) Frost blushed as Ms Angela talked to him like he was one of the kids, making him chuckle a bit, sounding somewhat embarrassed and somewhat amused. “I’m ALWAYS well behaved!” he declared with a playful wink. “Gotta set a good example for the kiddos. Ha ha…you got me!” he held his paws up, “I am jealous! I happen to be a big fan of Pokemon as well and I was kinda hoping you could make one for me,” he admitted with a laugh, rubbing the back of his head as he gave a sheepish grin. “Can you make me a Glaceon kigu if I pay ya for it?” Frost begged, giving her a hopeful look from his wheelchair. ============================================ “That’s a good boy,” Lollia smiled and trilled when Ry didn’t argue and instead went to play with the others, choosing to join in for the time being. He could always play in the house arcade after morning tea. She looked up the pet store on her phone’s browser and pressed the call button, speaking politely to the employee when she was put through, placing the payment and reservation for Spike the puppy over the phone, letting them know she’d pick him up on Monday morning. ============================================ Sophie heard the 8 year old blue dragon approach them and looked up at his question, making a small “Eep!” noise and ducking behind her fort wall then peeking out a moment later, her cheeks pink from her shyness. “U-umm….suwe, chu tan play wiff us”. She agreed, not wanting to be mean to the new kid by leaving him out. Although she was really more comfortable just playing with Rei at this point. The snow fort was comforting to hide behind, though, helping her adjust to having a new player. She looked towards Rei, her ears twitching gently as she heard what she said. “Ahehe! Yaay!” she replied, ready to start the snowball war. She giggled when they were both ready and the snowball she threw almost hit Rei, encouraging her to try again by throwing more. “Dis time, I’ll weally get chu!” she retorted, picking up one of the perfectly round snowballs from the stack and weighing it in her hand before she scampered out of one side of the fort and threw it high in the air, in Rei’s direction. “Hyah!~” She was out in the open, unable to throw snowballs over her own wall, so having to come out from behind it when she ‘attacked’, making her an easy target. Sophie was planning to dash back behind the wall and grab another snowball to throw, only able to fit one in her hands at a time. Being the size of a toddler had its disadvantages. While the girls kept playing, Ry’s snow fort came together in record time. Sophie yelped and flinched when he spoke out in a loud, confident voice, startling her for a second, making her drop the snowball in her hands. She then gasped, trying to pivot on her heel and run back behind her shelter before he could get her, but, being too slow, a little frozen up from fear, all she managed to do was turn her foot and stay on the spot. Before she could make herself move, the snowball that was flying towards her vanished halfway across the room, leaving her blinking at the space where it had been, her mouth falling open. "Oh!...what happened?" She looked at Mr Xeto in confusion, not knowing what he meant. Ry wasn't being bad, was he? He just threw the snowballs with all his might. Like you were supposed to do, right? And it's not like this soft, pretend snow could hurt. If they had been real snowballs, she would have been a lot more worried. ============================================ Hearing Xeto’s reply, Lollia nodded and smiled in understanding towards him. “It was a good idea, Mr Xeto. I’m glad we have you here with us. It’s nice to see everyone having fun together on their first day!~” she beamed. “I’ll have to ask you what else that programmable matter can be used for some time”. She then noticed him look over at Ry and frowned slightly when he intervened, making his snowballs vanish. “Hey now, was that really necessary? He was just joining in with the snowball fight like the girls. I’m sure this pretend snow can’t really hurt anybody,” she said, waving a hand. “Even with a dragon’s strength behind the throws”. She shifted her gaze over to Ry, who was probably taken off guard by Xeto’s sudden actions and words. “It’s okay, Ry. Mr Xeto was just worried about you throwing the snowballs too hard due to your dragon strength,” she called over to him in a reassuring tone. “You can keep playing snowball fight. Just make sure to throw the snowballs gently, alright? And no throwing them at people’s faces. Sophie and Rei are only little, so play nice”. She then looked back at Xeto and raised an eyebrow in a questioning manner. “Will that do?” she asked him politely. “I’m sure Ry didn’t mean to get carried away. He probably doesn’t realise his own strength,” she said with a warm smile. “I don’t think he was trying to be violent. Though it’s called a snowball ‘fight’ for a reason,” she chuckled. “I can tell there was no malice behind Ry’s actions. But I’m glad you’re looking out for everyone’s safety,” she said, putting a hand on Mr Xeto’s shoulder in a placating manner.
  3. Lollia watched as the blue night fury dragon walked up to Mr Xeto and began asking him about his augmented reality tech as well. Seems she wasn’t the only one curious and fascinated by it. Ry seemed to know more than her about it, which surprised her again. She wondered where the 8 year old dragon had possibly heard about it. Perhaps in video games. VR…so it was a kind of virtual reality then. How interesting. She tried to hide her amused smile at the fact that Ry got Xeto’s name wrong at first, calling him Mr Zero. Not quite as cool sounding. Listening to Xeto’s explanation, she nodded politely, taking all the info in. “Programmable matter…making something out of nothing. I can’t quite wrap my head around it but it seems marvellous,” she said, watching his demonstrations of what it could do. “Ohh, fascinating! You really can make anything!” she exclaimed. “Thanks so much for entertaining the little ones like this, Mr Xeto. Though I like them to get outside into nature and fresh air fairly often, this really is good for days when the weather is bad and such. You’re a genius!” she praised him. “Snow without the wetness and mess. Simply fabulous”. She saw Ry’s tail wagging and was glad he liked the augmented reality snow as well, seeing Xeto gesture to him to join in the girls with their playing. The dragon boy spoke up again and she considered his words carefully. “Hmm, Honey, I don’t know…I know you want to go out but it’s snowing and freezing cold. And we have a games room with an arcade right here in the orphanage already! You would have seen it when I showed you around just before. You can go and play the arcade games in there if you want. As for the pet store, you already asked me once today if you can go and get a puppy and I said no. But I will ring them right now and buy him over the phone for you. He won’t be arriving until Monday though, because you need time to settle in first,” she said. “No point going there and wanting more pets when you already have one coming. We can go out somewhere on the weekend with everyone, how does that sound?” she told him, planning to put all the kids in the van and take them somewhere fun, perhaps the local mall or the ice skating rink, a nature hike or go sledding. She patted his head as he hugged her, smiling at the puppy dog eyes he was making. “Sorry, Sweetie. Why don’t you play with Rei and Sophie here? Looks like they’re having a snowball fight. And Mr Xeto made a slide! Want to go down the snow slide?” she said, pointing it out to him. ============================================= Rei’s snowball flew over the top of the fort to land firmly on Sophie’s head, exploding and dusting her with white powder on her hair, ears and shoulders. “Hey, no faiw! We haben’t stawted yet!” she protested. “I wanna use da snow ball makews to make a pile of snowy ballies fiwsd and DEN we’s tan fwow dem at each othew,” she stated. She wasn’t sure what to do about her ears peeking above the fort wall she’d made for herself, as she was too short to reach to put more snow on top. Oh well. She’d just have to run and duck and dodge! Sophie grabbed one of the long handle snowball makers, using it to scoop a big blob of snow and closing it to squeeze it into a perfect ball. She built a pyramid stack of them beside her wall and then grinned, admiring how neat each perfect ball came out. “Yeee! Now’s I’m weady!” she said, checking to see if Rei made her snowball pile too. “Led’s fight!” With a grin, the dwarf rabbit grabbed a snowball in each hand and scurried behind her fort, leaning out one side to throw a snowball at Rei, her aim not very good and her head and upper body sticking out clearly as she giggled. “Take dat! Ahehehe!” ========================================== “I’m sure she will,” Frost said to Kara, smiling and wagging his tail at the tiny 13 year old. “It’s a very nice outfit. Looks very cute on you. I hope Ms Angela makes more Pokemon clothing like that. I might even ask if she'll make me one,” he chuckled. Looking up higher as the Latias woman approached, he saw the bottle of warm milk in her hand, listening to what Kara said to her. So she was in the kitchen. That explains it. He smiled when Angela easily scooped Kara up as though she weighed nothing, holding her in her warm embrace. He was glad to have other caregivers working at the orphanage so that no kid got overlooked or left out. “I’m sure she’ll be fine, Ms Angela. Kara here doesn’t seem like she’d be into rough housing and playing rough n’ tumble. We’ve got augmented reality snow in here! Come look! It’s not cold or warm but it looks and acts like snow. The kids are having fun with it. Mr Xeto used his alien tech to make and control it. He even made a slide! And he called it…uhh…programmable matter and made all sorts of things out of it just a moment ago to demonstrate what it can do. It can make something out of nothing! Even I can’t do that”. He glanced at the bottle of milk in Angela’s paw again, having heard Kara ask if she can play in the fake snow too, after she drinks it. “It’s good to see you keeping Kara hydrated, Ms. Drinking enough fluids is important. We’ll have morning tea in a bit and all the kids will get a snack and a drink then too. Think I heard something about ‘ants on a log’ for snack time,” he said, having overheard Sophie and Rei’s conversation from earlier, his big, fluffy fox ears not missing much.

Noticing what Samuel wanted, Lily pushed the stroller closer to the interactive map so he could touch it and inspect it while she waited for the kids to answer about what fishy creatures they wanted to see first before the dolphin show. Seeing Aurora raise her hand, she pointed to her briefly, letting her know she’d been seen, chosen and could speak. “Aurora,” she said with a smile, prompting the girl, “I’m listening, go ahead, Dear!”. =================================== Nanny Lyn listened to Ry’s promises regarding the puppy he wanted. “Alright, I’ll hold you to your word then, young sir. Taking care of a pet is a big responsibility. Paw Patrol? One second…” the nanny said with a smile as she checked through the neatly folded diapers in the bag before finding one with prints from the show and pulling it out. “Ah, here it is!” So saying, she placed the diaper neatly to one side and leaned forward to rip open the sticky tabs on his messy pamper, pulling the front open and folding it down, using it to wipe some of the mess off into the main part of the diaper. “Now let’s clean this mess up, stinky boy. Peeyew!" She said jokingly. She opened the container of wipes with a click and tugged some out of the box like she’d done it a million times, beginning to clean him up straight away. As she continued, she grabbed more wipes, dropping the used ones into the diaper. “Legs up, bottom up for me, Sweetie”, the blonde woman gently prompted, encouraging him to lift them, “I need to reach back there”. She didn’t seem to mind the smell too much, aside from holding her breath and breathing through her mouth rather than her nose. She thought it was cute how excited Ry was for his diaper change. His happy disposition certainly made it a breeze. To think something so simple could make him this happy. “Okay, I’ll get you some chocolate and ‘tato chippies and some healthy snacks as well. Since you asked so nicely. And of course, Darling. I’ll be happy to ask him about adopting a puppy once we get back home from our aquarium trip today,” she promised. Once she finished cleaning him with bunches of wet wipes and made sure he was spotless, she balled up the loaded diaper and threw it in the trash, grabbing the clean one with happy puppies on it and opening it up, spreading it beneath his tail and bottom. “I’m seeing a puppy theme here, Sweetie,” she said with a chuckle. “Adopting a puppy and wearing puppy diapers. You really like puppies, don’t you?” Smiling, she grabbed the bottle of baby oil, pouring some into her hands and gently rubbing it onto his diaper area, her hands soft and warm, following it up with a dusting of baby powder which she lightly rubbed in as well, before wiping her hands clean and taping the fresh padding up nice and secure, making sure not to miss the tape that went over and above his tail. She pulled his clothing back into place, doing up the snaps with satisfying clicks before packing up and rising to her feet to wash her hands. “Well that’s all over and done with. Let’s not keep the others waiting too long,” she said, drying her hands with paper towels then going over to help Ry to his feet. “Upsy daisy, big boy!” She picked up the changing mats and folded them up neatly, putting them back in the diaper bag then slinging it back over her shoulder. “All righty! To the vending machines!” she said, taking hold of Ry’s hand and leading her big baby out of the bathroom and over to them. She took the blue card out of Ry’s phone holder and inserted it into the machine’s card slot. “Okay Ry Ry, tell me what you want, Honey Bun. Just point to them,” nanny Lyn said, tapping the glass front of the refrigerated machine with her pointer finger. “We’ll use the money on your bank card to pay for the snacks. Which chocolate and which chips? And please pick one healthy snack, too. Like a sandwich or wrap”. She glanced across the room and saw Castile and Lily waiting by the map with Samuel and Aurora. “Be quick so we don’t keep the others waiting too long”. She encouraged Ry. ==================================== “Alright then, I shall leave him in your care Miss Savannah. Thank you kindly. You have a good day,” Ms Darla stated with a warm smile. “I hope you both will soon settle in here”. The head nurse then went back behind the desk to her computer to do some work, leaving the lovebird boy with the leopard woman. Peachie looked up at Savannah and returned her grin with one of his own, a cheerful little fella. “Yeah! I LOVE food! Let’s eat!” he cheered brightly, “Ho boy, food, food!” he said, jumping up and down excitedly, wondering what kind of things they had to eat here. “I’m hungry!” He reached up and slipped his pudgy hand in hers, gently grasping hold. “Is it okay if we hold hands? I don’t wanna get lost in here,” he said. “This place is way big and I’m used to small spaces”. Shifting a bit on his feet, he brushed dirt and leaves from his clothing and person, knowing he must look a scruffy mess after running away and making it here. He prayed the rich lady wouldn’t come looking for him, gulping at the thought of her. His diaper, since he was incontinent and always kept in them, was a plain white, medical grade one that wasn’t very absorbent and it was rather soggy now, having been worn since last night. She often left him in them for hours, many times as punishment for not doing what she wanted. She would definitely be flying into a rage right now when she discovered him missing. Peach shivered. After a long two years of hell, he didn’t ever want to go back to that cage. They treated him like an actual pet or a toy, instead of a living, feeling person. Hopefully here, there would be people who loved him and treated him better. He was so lonely in that other house. Studying his new nanny, Peach noticed that she had a bulge under her dress as well. Was she wearing a diaper? Phew. That made it less embarrassing for him to say what he had to next. “Um…Miss Savannah? You wear diapees too?! I do too and umm…I need a change,” he said, looking down with a blush as he bit his bottom lip, working it between his teeth. “I been wearing this one since last night. ‘Cause I can’t hold my pee and poo. It just comes out. Whoosh!” he swept a hand dramatically as he explained what always happened. “That lady says I’m in-condi-ment. So I have to wear them. And…and I don’t want it to leak and make someone angry”. He didn’t want her to see the blue heart birthmark on his tush but he couldn’t change himself either. He really wasn’t good at looking after himself. ======================================== The guard at the gatehouse saw Miguel was in trouble by a strange man approaching him. He stepped out of the gatehouse, grabbing his baton from his belt and quickly marching over towards them with a stern look on his face, raising his voice. “Hey! You! What do you want with that kid? Leave him alone! Get outta here!” he said, brandishing his bludgeoning weapon. “If you don’t back off, I’ll call the guard dogs and call for backup,” he warned, putting himself in front of the kid and between them both, protecting Miguel from the other man. “Hey, kid. I’ll let you into the mansion if you want. You’ll be safe there. Do you know this guy? Is he bothering you?” he asked.
  5. (((Hey guys, I have been having a TERRIBLE time with my IBS since last year and this year. Almost every food I eat is making me sick. But I now have an appointment with a dietitian, so am hoping she can get my diet sorted out so I won't get sick as much, or at all anymore. I hate that I keep making you guys wait so long for me to reply. I don't like being sick and exhausted most of the time, either. I hope you guys will still rp with me from this point. I'll give you updates on how things are going. I have my first appointment with her on Feb 11th at 2pm. So wish me luck with it! I look forward to becoming healthier and happier this year.)) Sensing Andrew nearby, along with Ms Hoshi, she knew all was fine so didn’t pay attention to the hiding child a short distance away. She trusted Ms Hoshi would keep him safe and out of mischief. The alien focused her attention solely on Ry. “Oh, you can just call me Mama Lolly, Sweetie. Not ‘Mrs’, I’m not married!,” she chuckled, hearing him opt for joining the other kids in the playroom. “Alright, then I’ll keep your iPad with me for the meantime and will leave it in your new room once it’s done. You can watch One Piece later,” she said, stroking Ry’s head lightly. She nodded at his question, “Yes, that’s what it sounded like to me. But Mr Xeto didn’t say you’d be going outside. Bringing you there will let me check for myself what he’s up to,” she explained to the dark blue dragon boy with a smile. “Come on, let’s go see!” Mama Lolly carried Ry through the halls to the playroom and looked inside, her mouth falling open for a second when she saw the room full of falling snow that was piling up on the ground. “What is this?” she asked, turning to look at Frost as the fox wheeled back towards the room, “Mr Snow, did you do this?! Is this your winter magic at work? You could have just brought them outside to play!” she exclaimed, confused. However, as she stepped into the room, she shuffled a few steps through the ‘snow’ and then stopped, confused, looking down at the white powder which came to her mid-shin. “Wait…it’s not cold. What is this?” she asked again, turning her gaze to the alien teacher next. “Do you have something to do with this, Mr Xeto? I trust that it’s safe”. She saw Sophie and Rei piling up the strange, fake snow into walls, making their own small forts in preparation for a snowball fight. They were playing so happily, yet without the cold factor to worry about. “Well, I guess this is probably safer…” she decided, talking to herself before putting Ry down so he could join them. She saw Xeto press a button on his wrist pad and watched as a snowy slide formed from the ground. “Oh, my! That’s so neat! Wow!” That confirmed it for her; he was definitely responsible for all this. The snow was seemingly falling from the ceiling, turning the playroom into a winter wonderland. She turned to look at the other alien and smiled. “Well, I never expected you could do something like this, Xeto. I’m impressed! Why don’t you try joining in with the kids, though? It would help them get more used to you,” she urged gently. “Sophie and Rei are playing together. Perhaps you could play with little Ry, here,” she said, sweeping her arm to indicate him. “Actually, now that I think about it, being a dragon, he’s probably more sensitive to the cold. Playing indoors with this magical snow seems better for him,” she said to Xeto, “Do you mind if I ask how it works? What is it called? Is it some kind of illusion?” Despite being someone with powers of her own, she didn’t understand how Xeto’s specific, advanced tech worked in this instance. ======================================== “Fanks. I fink my wall tuwned out weally well. It was so easy! Easiew dan weal snow. Yeah, dat sounds good! Let’s test it,” she agreed with Rei. Sophie hadn’t managed to build a very big wall, being a dwarf rabbit species herself, but this snow was surprisingly much easier to build and craft with than real snow. Usually, a wall like this could take anywhere from 1-3 hours to build but she had managed to construct her wall in minutes, just by piling up handfuls and smoothing them out with flattened palms. It was a flat wall, since she wasn’t sure how to make it curved. “Dis snow sticks togethew weal good,” she noted. Sophie then grabbed a handful of snow from the floor, packing and shaping it into a rough ball in her hands before throwing it at her own wall, watching it hit and burst, the wall taking minimal damage. “It works!” The girl squeaked happily, bouncing on the spot. She then ran to hide behind it, her rabbit ears peeking out from the top, giving away her location easily. ======================================== Hearing Mama Lolly from where he was in the hallway, Frost put both hands up and shook his head as he warded off her assumptions. “Nuh-uh! Not me. I TRIED to take them outside. I just got them dressed and then I had to undress them and put all the winter clothes back away. Because of SOMEONE,” he said, though it sounded half playful. “Me, you know I prefer the real stuff. But the kids are happy and having fun, so that’s all that matters,” he conceded. The white fox paused in rolling his wheelchair as he saw Kara walking towards the playroom and then looking in. He smiled at her and spoke, having heard what she said, giving her a small wave in greeting. “Oh, hello there, Kara! It does, doesn’t it? You’re welcome to play, too. If you want, I can hold your hand and we can go into the playroom together. But I’m sure Miss Angela will come find you in a minute, wherever she went off to,” he told the little girl, seeing her grasp Loki the lion under one arm and noticing that she was now wearing an Eevee kigurumi. “Hey, nice. Where did you get the Eevee outfit from? Did Miss Angela make that for you? It looks great,” he commented. “What’s your favourite Pokemon? I like Vanillish a lot!” His ears then moved about as he heard Angela walking down the hall towards them and he looked up and saw her approaching with a warm bottle of milk in her hand. “Oh, there she is. Looks like Miss Angela is back with a nice milky bottle for you, Hon”.

Nanny Lyn listened to Ry, taking into consideration what he said. “That’s right; which means you would be responsible for giving him food and water every day for breakfast and dinner, taking him for walks, brushing and grooming him, buying him toys, playing with him, giving him a bath if he gets dirty, keeping him on a leash around the manor, taking him to puppy school for proper training, making sure he is well behaved around other people and much more. Are you sure you can handle all that? If so, then Mr Balverk might let you adopt one. But I don’t think you should be putting diapers on any pet unless they are incontinent, which means they have no control over when and where they go. In that case, you’ll have to take the puppy outside to do his business whenever he lets you know and then clean up after him. Putting diapers on him otherwise would be cruel, so I won’t allow you to do that”. She heard him giggle, which made her smile as she led him to the back of the van to wait while Castile and Lily got their kids situated in the stroller. She then saw him drop into a crouch and as soon as his tail lifted up, she knew exactly what he was doing. “Uh-oh, looks like it’s potty time again already," she giggled, "That-a-boy, get it all out. Good thing you did that before I put a new diaper on you. Gosh, you must have a fast metabolism!” she told the 6 foot tall 12 year old in a playful tone, amazed at how fast breakfast went through him. With this newfound knowledge, she realised she would have to buy snacks to top Ry up before it rolled around to lunch time, otherwise he might get hungry sooner than Aurora and Samuel would. That would cause low blood sugar and make him sleepy. “I’ll get you some snacks from the vending machines once we go inside, Honey. Looks like you’ll need to eat more frequently than most”. Hearing him sigh, she leaned over and patted his head with a smile. “Aw, does that feel all better? Good job making pushies, little dragon,” She praised him. “One diaper change, coming right up!” ================================== Lily was glad that Samuel didn’t notice his bandaid getting removed, as she hadn't wanted to make him cry. While carrying him, she saw him take off the sunglasses and start chewing on the handle but didn’t mind too much, even though the bright sunlight was probably hurting his eyes now. She would look for some teething toys in the diaper bag. It looked like he had a possible chewing stim to her. Once he was strapped into his stroller seat beside Aurora, she heard a soft clatter then noticed him reaching for something on the ground and whining, making grabby motions for it. Lily sighed, regretting that the glasses didn’t have a cord on them. She knelt down to retrieve the sunglasses, putting them back on his face. “Here you go, Sammy. Keep the sunglasses on your face so you don’t drop them again,” she reminded him gently and patiently, “They aren’t a chew toy. They are there to protect your eyes from the sun. No more chewing on them, okay? We don’t want your eyes to hurt any more. Hold on a moment and I’ll get you a teething ring and a water bottle to sip on, Sweetie Pie” So saying, she dropped to a squat and unzipped his diaper bag, placing a chilled teething ring in his dominant hand and putting a drink bottle with a strap around his neck. The water in it was chilled too, since it was a warm day. She zipped the diaper bag closed. Standing up again, she went to hold the handles behind the stroller, looking at Castile. “Ready!” she told him. ================================== Castile finished putting Aurora in the stroller, giving her a drink bottle as well before he walked to the back, grabbing the handles. “Good to go. Let’s go in,” he stated, helping Lily push the twin stroller towards the big building and in through some double sliding doors. Their visit had been paid for already by Mr Balverk so Castile just went to the front desk and told them which name it was booked under. Then they were free to look around. However, it seemed nanny Lyn had an urgent matter to take care of first. Ry was waddling more than before and a stinky odour was starting to emit from his person. Castile spotted a big display of a map and pointed to it. “Hey, Lily, why don’t we look at the map so we can decide what to look at first,” he suggested before looking at Lyn. “Nanny Lyn, we’ll wait here by the map while you go and change Ry’s diaper, then we can meet up here and start looking at fish together,” he said. He then pointed to the colourful displays around the main lobby, “Look Aurora, look Sammy - they have models of whales and dolphins hanging from the ceiling. That’s how big they are in real life!” he said, pointing upwards to get the kids to look up. “Wooow…the blue whale is the biggest one!” ===================================== Lily looked at the models in awe. She had never seen most of these sea creatures before, not in real life anyway. Their accurate models were impressive. “They don’t have a tank big enough to display a blue whale. Those guys live way, waaay out in the deep blue sea~” she told Samuel and Aurora with a smile. “I think they show videos of them, though” She studied the map a bit more. “Hmm, this map says we can look at tanks with tropical creatures, tanks with cold water creatures, deep sea animals, touch pools, otters, turtles, rays, penguins, sea birds…oh and they have a sea lion theatre and the dolphin cove for shows! So many animals to see. Crabs, corals, seahorses…oh, I’ve always wanted to see those! Gosh, it even has tanks that are split into different sections. There are tanks showing animals and plants that live in shallow water and tide pools, then middle depth waters, then going deeper and deeper. All the way down to the deepest parts of the ocean, where it’s dark and they have jellyfish that make their own light. Fascinating!” There were also tanks displaying animals from rivers, ponds and lakes. And some tanks had wave makers that caused the surface of the water to make waves like the ocean. There were saltwater crocodiles as well, which you could watch being fed, or even go in a special cage that put you underwater with them. She looked at the two toddlers in the stroller, checking the watch on her left wrist to see the time. “Well, the dolphin show doesn’t start yet; what do you want to look at first, guys? Tell me one at a time. Put your hands up…and wait for me to point to you first before you talk,” she said. ======================================= Meanwhile, Nanny Lyn led Ry by the hand, pausing to nod and wave at Castile and Lily before continuing on into the restrooms. “Okay, we won’t be long. Thanks for waiting”. She led Ry to the bathrooms and picked a disability accessible room due to his size (wings and tail included), bringing the dragon in with her, locking the door behind them before putting the diaper bag down and getting out two big changing mats, spreading them out on the ground. She then patted the mats and motioned for Ry to lay on them. “Alright, Ry, lay down for me, that’s a good boy. Which diaper do you want to wear?” she asked, taking out a pack of wipes, baby oil and baby powder, setting them beside the mats. “We have all your favourite designs; Sesame Street, Blue’s Clues, Paw Patrol, Spiderman, dragon prints, dino prints, T-Rexes, My Little Pony and Bluey” As she waited for him to lie down so that she could open the snaps on his sailor outfit and start the change, she asked; “What kind of snacks do you like, Sweetie? Is there anything you can’t have or don’t like? The vending machines out the front have cold sandwiches, fruit salad cups, salads, wraps, protein bars, granola bars, cookies, chips, candy bars and candy. They also have water, juice and soda. Though I think I might not buy you any soda…it makes you have to pee more often. We don’t need your diapers to leak today!” she chuckled softly, patting his tail. The scales felt smooth as silk.

She listened as he told her about One Piece, frowning as she considered his words, thinking it great that the show had taught him morals and other lessons, despite her disapproving of him watching it at such a young age. Lollia then concentrated for a second and her phone teleported into the air in front of her, floating over to her so she could look up the age rating for the anime, using her telekinesis to open the Google browser and type in the keywords. She quickly scanned some of the results with her eyes. Seeing that it was fine for ages 11+, she made her decision. “Alright…well, some of the reviews say it’s aimed at audiences aged teen and up, with some violent content. But since you’ve grown up watching it, I’ll allow you to watch it. But I will give you your own tablet with some headphones, so you can watch it by yourself and the little ones here won’t be seeing anything they shouldn’t,” she decided. So saying, Lollia teleported her phone back to her room with a glimmer of sparkles. She then used her powers and dragged over a new tablet with a cute, silicone, dragon shaped cover on it from one of the storage closets and over to Ry, where it floated just within his reach. A pair of earphones were already plugged into the port at the bottom, their colour matching the iPad cover. “Here you go, Sweetie. This is all yours. Make sure none of the younger kids get their sticky paws on it, okay? This is for you and you alone. Also, I will be monitoring the content through an app on my phone and parental controls. So it should be safe for you to use,” she said, leaning over to place a kiss on his forehead. “It has a dragon shaped cover so everyone can tell it belongs to our little dragon. I’ve also put your name on the back in big letters”. She began to carry him out of the changing room and around the house at a leisurely pace, listening to him chatter with the pacifier in his mouth, finding the words a little hard to understand because of it. After taking a moment to decipher his speech, she replied. “The pet store? Oh, Baby, I don’t know…” she said with an uncertain frown and tone. “It’s only your first day here, Ry, and you’re still getting settled in. I think it’s a bit soon to get a pet. But I don’t want someone else to adopt the puppy before you. I can tell how much you want him. Hmm…I’ll call the store tonight and ask to buy him but he won’t be arriving till later next week. It could be nice to have a pet around here. I’m sure the other kids will love him, as well. He can stay in your room at night and you will be responsible for taking care of him and watching him so he doesn’t cause trouble. Those are the rules”. Mama Lolly then continued to show Ry around the big house while carrying him with her, showing him all the different rooms and things to do here. At the top and bottom of the staircases were baby gates, so Little ones couldn’t get hurt falling down the stairs. She showed him all around the bottom floor and then the top one, including which room she was going to make into his nursery. Once the tour was finished, she then stood still in a hallway, with Ry still in her arms. “Alright, so that’s the entire house. Now, what would you like to do, Honey Bun? Do you want to go to the playroom with Sophie and Rei? Mr Snowpowder and Mr Xeto are down there right now with them. You could meet the girls and play together. Or, if you want, I can take you to another room so you can sit and watch a few episodes of your One Piece anime”. ===================================== Seeing that Rei liked the idea, Sophie bounced on her toes some more giddily, glad her new friend shared her enthusiasm. “Good idea, Wei! I’ll hewp chu mate a wall… an’ chu tan hewp ME mate one. Den we’s tan mate da snowy ballies. And den…we fight! Ahehehe!” She couldn’t wait to playfully pelt the other girl with snowballs while dodging the ones sent her way. So saying, she looked around the foam playroom floor and went to draw a line in the snow on one side, putting her red snowball maker down beside it. She then went and drew a line across the other side of the room. “Dis wine will be’s youw wall, Wei. Mine is oba dewe. Wed’s ged makin’!” she squeaked softly, kneeling in the snow and beginning to scoop it up and build along the line she had drawn. “Should da wall be stwaight? Ow bendy wite a wainbow?” she asked, not knowing the word for ‘curve’. “Which one bedda to hide behind?” Sophie didn’t know if she should be making snow bricks and piling them up, or just building a smooth wall the same way as a sandcastle, where you piled up random handfuls until it became a wall. “Am I doing dis wight?” she asked Rei. Oddly, the snow didn’t feel cold or warm but it had substance and texture. ========================================== If Kara was passing by the playroom, she could hear Rei and Sophie’s happy voices inside, as well as Frost’s wheelchair noises as he finished putting the kids’ outerwear away and moved down the hallway back to the playroom, muttering to himself about the augmented reality winter that Mr Xeto had made. He just found it so unsatisfying! Kids needed to get outside in the fresh air, have their immune systems stimulated by the winter cold! Not this…weird fake stuff. The outdoor enthusiast just couldn’t wrap his head around the idea. Having the sharp hearing of a fox, however, he moved his ears forward and listened, detecting the sounds of diaper crinkles. “Huh? I wonder who that could be? Hello…! Who’s there?” he called in Kara’s direction. Ms Angela was supposed to be supervising her but the Latias must have disappeared again. Frost didn’t think it was a good idea to leave a Little One on their own in such a big house. Especially on their very first day. He wasn’t sure if Andrew and Ms Hoshi were still in the conservatory or if the little baby was crawling away down the hallway. Andrew should be fine, though, since Ms Hoshi was with him and would probably be able to check his diaper to see if it was wet or messy. It was important to check and change diapers every 2-3 hours, unless you had on one of Mama Lolly's super absorbent, premium diapers. Then it was more like every 4-5 hours, unless they made a poopie. And even then, the barrier cream, oil and powder should protect their skin for many hours. Lollia used the highest quality and best products for her precious babies. ========================================== Hearing Mr Xeto’s voice in her mind, Lollia immediately responded to her new teacher. “Yes, Mr Xeto, that should be fine. Outdoor exercise and physical activity is important for the kids. Although, I can sense that you are in the playroom. That’s odd. In any case, I’m happy for the girls to play in the snow, so long as they have their winter clothes to keep warm. We wouldn’t want anyone to catch a cold!” she said back to him, her cheerful voice clearly audible in his own mind. “Please keep an eye on them for me. You can play with the girls too, if you want. I’m sure they’d get to know you better if you join in with their activities,” she suggested. The kids would warm up to him faster if he played with and talked to them, rather than watch from the sidelines.

Mr Goodie drove the van into the aquarium’s busy parking lot, finding a space made for longer vehicles near the back of the car park, since all the good spaces were taken at the front and center. “Alright, here we are, everybody! I’ll wait while you nannies unload the kids and supplies. Just tell me when you are ready and have everything and I will leave you here and come back to pick you up when you’re done. Have fun!”. ============================================== Since she was sitting right beside him, nanny Lyn heard the quiet hissing and tinkling sounds that softly emitted from Ry’s diaper some minutes before Mr Goodie found a space to park. Glancing down at his navy blue sailor suit shorts, she saw that the diaper bulge beneath was now much more prominent, having absorbed a lot and expanded. She’d have to talk to Mr Balverk about getting some diapers that could hold more than one dragon wetting at a time. Looks like he was going to need a change as soon as they got there. Noticing Ry’s movements as he took off his red headphones, she flicked her gaze back up to his face, not giving any sign she had noticed his ‘wee’ accident. “The pet store? Probably not today, Sweetie, because we’re doing a day trip to the aquarium. But I’ll ask Mr Balverk about taking you tomorrow, if you want. I’ll have to ask him if he’d let you adopt a puppy, as well. Perhaps it would be allowed as a support dog. I’m not sure about the manor’s rules on pets. Would I be taking care of the puppy, or would you?” she asked. Hearing Mr Goodie’s announcement once they stopped, Nanny Lyn unbuckled her seatbelt and leapt to her feet. “Oh, good, we’re here! Okay, Ry Ry, hold on one moment while I get your stroller and diaper bag from the back. We might need it in case your legs get tired,” she said. She grabbed and shouldered the Bluey diaper bag. Yet, when she looked for the stroller, she saw a clear capsule with Ry’s name and a tiny stroller inside. Picking it up, she was confused. How was this miniature stroller supposed to fit the dragon boy? “Um, Mr Goodie, what is this ball with a stroller in it and Ry’s name on it?” she asked him, seeing a button on top of the capsule. =============================================== “Ah, that’s one of Mr Balverk’s new enchanted, magical items. He has someone make them for him. You just need to press the button on the ball and drop it on the ground. It will make a poof and the stroller will appear in the larger size, ready for Ry to fit in it. It has a button on it to press when you want to put it back in the capsule and will shrink and reseal itself in the ball. You can carry it around in your pocket when Ry’s not using it”. ================================================ “Wow. that’s amazing!” she chuckled, putting the ball in her apron pocket and walking back to where Ry was seated, unbuckling him from the carseat and gently reaching out to take his hands, pulling him gently forwards so he could slide off the seat to the floor, as he was too big for her to carry. “Upsie daisy, my little Night Fury! Come along, you hold Nanny’s hand and we’ll wait outside the van while everyone else comes out. Then we will walk into the aquarium as a group,” she said. “Once we get inside, I’m going to take you to the bathrooms for a diaper change, too. Since you seem to have sprung a leak and your diapee is all poofy,” she giggled, reaching a hand to his bottom to give his padding a playful squeeze, checking how soaked it was. “Goodness, that’s soggy! Good thing we have this bag with lots of diapers inside,” she said, hefting the bag on her shoulder. =========================================== While Samuel wasn’t paying attention, Lily eyed the Mickey Mouse bandaid on his left hand from yesterday’s blood test and reached over, suddenly peeling it off in one quick motion so he wouldn’t feel it. She crumpled it and dropped it in her tote bag to dispose of later. When he saw the water park and tugged on her sleeve, she looked out the window to see what he was pointing to and smiled. “Ohh, the water park! That looks like lots of fun. Did you want to go there, Sammy? Sure, we can go there one day. We’re spending today at the aquarium, but we could go there tomorrow,” she informed the small boy brightly. She’d have to find some swim diapers and swimming gear for him. She was sure there’d be some in storage since the manor had a big swimming pool as well. The water park was bound to have water play zones and paddling pools for the kids. “Yay! We’re here!” she cheered and clapped her hands when the van was parked and Mr Goodie spoke up. Miss Lily undid her own seatbelt then stood and released the buckle on Samuel’s car seat, picking the child up and stepping out of the van, carrying him around to the back and opening the hatchback with one hand, taking out the folded double stroller. “I think it’s safest if we put you and Aurora in the stroller for now. What do you think?” she said. “That way, you won’t get lost and can look at the fishies together and talk about what you see!” She leaned forward a little and called into the main cabin of the van; “Castile, I’ve got the double stroller for Samuel and Aurora, along with their diaper bags!” she called softly over to him, while she grabbed and loaded each of their diaper bags into the basket under the double stroller. The mana rose floated up beside Samuel’s shoulder, following him everywhere. ================================================= Once they got there, Castile let the others get up first, since his cat taur body was big enough to block the aisles. He saw Nanny Lyn walk past holding Ry’s hand and smiled at the sight of the dragon toddling behind her with his tail wagging and a swollen diaper. He then watched Lily take Samuel out and go around the back of the van. Once they were out, he slid off the bench seat and unclipped Aurora’s car seat buckle, scooping her up into his arms, “Okay, now it’s our turn! Let’s go put you in the stroller with Sammy so we can go into the aquarium together as one group. The family stays together”. Carrying the little girl in her pink, frilly outfit, he took her over to the unfolded stroller and leaned down to place her in one side, buckling the harness in place. “Who’s excited to see some marine life today?” he asked the kids cheerfully, trying to hype them up a bit. Checking to make sure Aurora’s diaper bag was in the bottom of the twin stroller, he then looked back inside the van. “Mr Goodie, I think we’ve got everything!” he called out to him. He was glad that they could just take their time and not have to hurry. There was no time limit or set time to return to the manor, so they could hang out here all day at their leisure, if they wanted. It just depended on how soon the kids got sick of seeing and playing with water animals. They were planning to have lunch at the cafe and let the kids romp in the children’ undersea themed play area afterwards, as well as visit the gift shop after seeing all the fish and other creatures. ================================== “Sounds like a plan,” the friendly elven man replied with a smile, watching the snow leopard get up from her chair. “Don’t forget your employee kit. We’ll have some spare uniforms delivered to your apartment later today but the clothes you’re in for now should be fine,” he stated. “Or the staff at the Nanny Station can give you one to change into after you get cleaned up. And no problem. Thank YOU for joining the House of the Lost family. I hope you have a wonderful day”. He said, waving her off as she left the room. … As Savannah approached the nurses’ station, she would see Darla standing, waiting for her out front of the Station’s curved desk while holding the hand of a very chubby little boy who had parrot coloured wings and hair like a peach faced lovebird, the ‘watermelon’ variety. Darla gave her a comforting smile when she saw her and waved. “Hello there…Savannah is it? Hi. I’m Darla, the Head Nurse. Mr Balverk told me you would be coming. It’s lovely to see you here. I have little Peachie here with me today. He just arrived this morning. Would you like to take him over to the nannies’ station and help him get a change of clothes, a new diaper…and help him pick things out for his new nursery here at Balverk Manor?” she asked. “After that, he might need a meal. You can find the cafeteria on the map Mr Balverk gave you but if you get lost, ask any of the staff you see around and they’ll point you in the right direction,” the short, bubbly nurse said, her bright green eyes and hot pink hair making her easy to remember. Her gaze skimming top to toe of the snow leopard woman, she noted her soggy diaper and commented. “Oh, and if you need a change, just ask one of the nannies over there. They’ll get you sorted out in no time as well,” she stated. “Don’t be afraid to ask; you’re not the first adult to wear diapers here. Many of us do”.

  11. Hi, this thread has 78 pages and I'm not sure if there's a way to search for keywords in a thread. Does anyone remember this really amazing story set in a version of the Diaper Dimension and written by a female author, where humans are babied by giant Amazons in a giant world? There was mention of the main girl character having 'Robophobia' and the Amazons had more mature tastes than the Littles. The food for littles tasted incredible to them. There was a cat themed little named Sprinkles who at one point was killed by another character. And the main character's best friend was a trans babygirl named Melanie, or 'Mellie'. I want to find the story again for my friend to read, as it's one of the best I've ever read and made a huge impression on me. If anyone knows where a link to it is, or can remember the name of the author, I would appreciate it greatly, thanks.

I believe my gut is gradually starting to heal and I am starting to have less tired days so hoping I can post faster than before. I know it's been a long time and I apologise for the hiatus but would be thrilled if you would all continue the rps with me!)) “Of course you can, Sweetheart!” Lollia smiled at Ry’s good manners in asking, sending the other diapers back into storage as she finished cleaning him up and grabbed the Spider-Man print diaper, opening it out before sliding it under his bottom. She poured some baby oil onto her palms and then smoothed it over his diaper area, her hands cool and soft. The alien followed it up with a good dusting of baby powder, lightly rubbing that over the skin and scales before she cleaned her hands with a wipe and began to pull the diaper closed, expertly taping it up. She made sure the leak guards were standing and that the fit was snug without being too tight or too loose. She then buttoned the white onesie closed over it and then the blue gingham romper, giving the front a gentle pat. “And you are all done!” she cooed softly, helping Ry sit up. Lollia considered his question as she scooped the dragon boy up in her arms, balancing him on one hip. “Well, that depends. If it’s appropriate for children 13 and under, then you can watch them. So, things like Pokemon, Digimon, Yokai Watch and any anime made for younger audiences. I’ll have to check the rating before I decide if it’s safe for you to watch. But yes, you can watch some anime, if you’re good,” she promised. Seeing him suck his thumb, she gently took hold of the pacifier clipped to the front of his romper and held it up to offer instead “Here, baby, suck your paci, not your thumb. There could be germs on your hands from playing and touching things around the house”. Lollia considered a moment, then. “Okay, I’ll bring you around the house so you can see where everything is. Then I’ll let you go play while I work on making up your new room, how’s that sound?” she asked, stroking Ry’s head and scratching around the base of his horns. She bounced him gently in her arms, hoping to coax out a giggle or smile. ====================================== Lollia would be proud of Ms Angela for making Kara an accurate Eevee outfit in such a short time. She didn’t know the woman was so good at sewing and making clothes. She’d have to ask her to make any custom orders that the kids wanted in future. For now, the alien owner of the orphanage would busy herself showing Ry around the place, then making up his room and Kara’s forest themed room. Kara and Ry could find the other kids and rooms and start playing when they were ready. Frost, meanwhile, wasn’t too happy. He crossed his arms and huffed quietly to himself, thinking that this ‘augmented reality’ was nowhere near as good as the real outdoors. But he didn’t want to start an argument between himself and Xeto. Still, real fresh air and real snow were much better than pretend reality, in his opinion. The arctic fox quickly helped peel off the winter cloaks and other garments he’d just spent time putting on Sophie and Rei, leaving the snow toys he’d gathered upon the floor that was quickly being covered by fake snow. He went to hang them up and put them back in storage neatly, wheelchair beads clinking on the spokes as he wheeled out of the room, leaving the girls to play as they wished. ======================================= Sophie thanked Mr Snowpowder for getting their bulky winter wear back off them and waved after him as he went to put them back in the cupboard. She then turned to Rei, her ears twitching excitedly as she jiggled on the spot, bouncing on her toes. Being a rabbit who loved to burrow, dig and run, she hesitated while trying to decide. “Ummm…um! Snowball fight!” she decided in her soft, cheerful voice. They’d been rather stationery for a while so running around would feel good. Sophie then walked through the snow, looking for the snowball maker. She found two of them and went to hand one to Rei. “Hewe, we tan use dese to make pewfect snowy ballies, tee hee!” she giggled. “Wet’s make a big pile fow me…and a big pile fow chu…and den we tan frows dem at each othew”. These are what the snowball makers look like.

I've just been having the most horrendous time with my health issues this year and I have so many upset stomach episodes that leave me tired a lot. I am starting to heal a bit with the slippery elm and probiotics I am taking though, so hope things get better in future. Thank you all so much for your kindness and patience and I will do my best to post more often as much as I can!)) “That’s a good boy,” Nanny Lyn said, reaching up to scruff the top of Ry’s head, petting it fondly. Watching him relax in his carseat and put his new phone to use straight away, she was glad there were apps on there for the kids’ entertainment, confident that there would be parental controls to ensure no unsafe material for the Littles. Pokemon was fine for kids. She saw him take a pair of red headphones out of his pocket and was surprised, wondering when he put that in there. “Good thinking, Ry. Using headphones is very considerate of you. Other passengers won’t be bothered by your media,” she said with a smile, praising his thoughtfulness. What a kind boy he was. Lyn continued to make sure she didn’t get whacked by Ry’s happy tail and just looked out the window as they journeyed, idly passing the time. She glanced around the rest of the van every so often, keeping a gentle watch over everybody. =================================== Lily smiled hearing Samuel’s sweet giggles, glad she could make him laugh and distract him from being anxious. Hearing the animals he listed, she nodded, “Yes, yes, you’re completely right. I don’t think this aquarium has whales any more, though. It was deemed to be cruel to keep such enormous creatures in smaller pools, so they don’t have them any more. But they have lots of other animals, I promise! You will be lucky if we get to see every animal today. Oh and they definitely have turtles and sharks!” she informed the boy brightly. Hearing the tablet in her tote bag ping, Lily pulled it out and swiped the screen, drawing the unlock pattern then tapping the alert notification and seeing the heart rate spike. She put it back in the bag and placed a hand on Samuel’s upper arm, rubbing it lightly as a form of comfort “Oh, sweetie. It’s okay. There’s no need to be so nervous. We’re going to have a fun day today!” she told him with a cheerful yet soothing tone. “Look, Ry is using his new phone to watch YouTube. The wheels on the bus go round and round, round and round, round and round!” She sang softly along to the music, swaying side to side in her seat and moving her hands in circular motions. She didn’t sing too loud, just quietly in respect of the others. ==================================== Castile grinned upon seeing her reaction to the good news about the dolphin show seats. He wanted to make sure the experience would be a positive one to remember and was excited for her meet and greet with the dolphins after the show concluded. The dolphins were friendly, well trained and loved to play and do tricks. Tricks and play kept them stimulated and prevented the smart animals from being bored, so they enjoyed them. Switching topics to the now unnecessary bandaid on her left hand, Castile waited for her response then smiled when she held out her hand and closed her eyes. “Good choice, kiddo. We don’t want wrinkly skin under there from leaving it on too long. Alright, on the count of three. One…two…” Before he could say ‘three’ he quickly ripped it off, hopefully taking her by surprise so it wasn’t as bad. It might smart for half a second but it was done. There was the tiniest speck of blood in the bandaid’s central strip but he quickly threw it in his duffle bag to get rid of later “All done! No more bandaid!” he announced, letting her know it was safe. “We should be there in about 15 minutes now, so not long to go” Castile said, humming along softly to the kids’ radio song. ================================ The kindly owner of the manor didn’t hear any noise from her padding when she sat down, glad she took the time to look over the new equipment he gave her. When Savannah asked her question, he did his best to give her a thorough answer. “Well, for now, since we only have a few children, we’ve been assigning one nanny to one child to care for. But if we get more, we might need to add children to the nannies we already have. So you could end up caring for two or more kids in future. But it all depends on when we get new nannies and new kids. If I can spread the caretaking evenly across the amount of staff, I will do so. We do our best not to overburden our caretakers. It’s also okay to help other children if their own nannies are busy doing something and you happen to be free. Or to take care of their assigned child if they have to be away for some reason or have the day off,” he explained. “We do have a school house on the premises for education, as well. The teachers will overlook and help the entire class but if nannies want to be present to assist their children in learning, they are more than welcome. Or they can leave the child to the teachers’ care and take a break if they wish. We also have a home schooling option for children with bad anxiety issues. Our school teachers give you the paperwork and materials and they will also mark it and provide feedback”. When the leopard shuffled on her chair a bit, Mr Balverk detected a telltale crinkle coming from under her clothing. “Ah, forgive me for asking but are you one of those caregivers who also happen to require diapers? If that’s the case, you can go to the other nannies for a change or else page the nannies’ station for one, or go there directly to their office,” he told her politely. The phone on the elven man’s desk rang, then, and he held up a finger to pause the conversation and stated “One moment, please!” before answering, listening and giving some short replies before hanging up. He looked at Savannah with a winning smile. “I have some good news! That was the head nurse, Darla. She just informed me that a new child came in for intake just now. He should be ready for a nanny very soon if you’re interested. He’s a lovebird boy, named Peach Loveberry, and has a pair of wings,” he said. “Apparently very colourful so he stands out and won’t be easy to miss,” the man chuckled jovially. “My, my, I’m so glad the word is getting out thanks to the printed flyers we distributed”

I'm trying to catch up on my rps again now!)) “Good job, little dragon,” Lollia praised Ry, laughing a little at how loud that had been. “My goodness, I think you shook the whole house with that one! Hope you feel better now,” she said, her ears ringing from the echoing burp. Hearing Kara’s reply in her mind, she sent back a telepathic response. “Of course you can, Darling. A forest theme it will be,” she assured her “I’ll get it done before tonight”. She saw Ry’s tail raise then felt his diapered rump expand, forming a big lump in his padding. “Oh my, that was a big oopsie! That’s okay; that’s what your diapers are for”. She patted the giggling 8 year old dragon on the head, scratching gently around his horns. “Yes, you did! You think that’s funny, huh? Well, since you made Mama Lolly such a big present, then I guess it’s time to go and change your bottom. I’ll bring you to the changing room next to the playroom, and we can take a house tour afterwards. How does that sound, Sugar?” Making good on her word, she wiped Ry’s mouth and tossed the towel in the hamper before carrying him down the hall to the changing room nearest them, lying the dragon boy down on a padded smiley face changing table and pulling the snaps of his clothing undone, lifting the material up out of the way to get to his Bambino BABY print diaper. “Legs up, Sweetie. This diaper didn’t last very long. Stinky diapers get changed right away,” she told Ry, tearing open the diaper tabs and starting to clean him up while holding her breath against the smell. “We wouldn’t want you to get a rashy rash. Plus, it really is stinky. Pheeyew!” she playfully said to him, making quick work of using the diaper to scoop off the bulk of the mess before cleansing his scales with lots of soft wet wipes from a warmer, making sure not to miss a spot. Lollia then balled up the used wipes and diaper, which tossed itself in the diaper genie as the air freshener sprayed some fragrance to combat the stench. The air purifier and extraction fan freshened the room further. “Alright now, best get another diaper on you before you make any more little presents, baby boy. Let’s see…you like Bluey and Paw Patrol, don’t you? And Spider-Man. I found some diapers with their designs on them,” she said, as three diapers floated out from under the table and hovered in the air above him, letting him choose his next padding. “Point to which one you like”. ========================================= As he wheeled away from the conservatory, Frost had heard Ms Hoshi’s last comments about hoping to see her friend again one day and called back to her down the hallway, “I hope you do!” It would probably be best to follow Andrew around for the time being, since the boy seemed content to crawl about the house. It was some physical exercise for him and that was a good thing. If he got tired or started to get into something he shouldn’t, she could always pick him up and take him to the play room or another room. Frost heard what Xeto said and didn’t go to the back door yet. Sophie and Rei were still standing in the playroom in all their winter garb. His ears turned in Xeto’s direction, listening curiously. “Better than outside? What’s better than the real thing?” he asked in disbelief, watching the green skinned man get up and put an object in the middle of the room. When snow began to fall from above, seemingly materialising out of nowhere, Frost was half impressed and half bothered. Not by the breeze, though, by the fact he couldn’t play outdoors with the kids now. “Hmph, well, I guess it’s kinda cool. I just hope it doesn’t make a mess of the playroom. It’d be a pain if everything gets covered in fake snow,” he said, not really understanding how the device worked. “Augmented reality, huh? So it’s like…a powerful illusion?” he asked, putting the snow toys down around the floor and looking at the girls. “Okay girls, well, I guess you won’t be needing your winter coats and stuff now, so you can take them off and play in here in the fake snow…I mean…artificial winter,” he said, not really that fond of it. ===================================== Hearing Rei, Sophie gave her another small side hug, “You tan stay hewe as long as you want. Mama Lolly says so. And I’ll be youw fweind so you don’ get lonely. Dat way, you be happy hewe, always. Mama Lolly won’t let anyone takes us kids away”. Sophie jumped up and down in joy when she saw all the toys Frost had grabbed so they could play in the snow. She then heard Mr Xeto and hesitated, not going to the back doors like Frost told them. “Missha Snow? So…we play hewe instead? No going outside?” she asked, seeing that he looked a bit disgruntled about their outdoor plans being changed. She felt the cold breeze on her cheeks and raised her mittened hands to catch some falling snowflakes in the room “Wooow! Dah’s so cool!” Looking at Mr Xeto, Sophie asked “Tan we use da snow toys in dis?” she asked him, her mittened hands now cupped, full of snowflakes. “Tan dis stuff be made into snow balls, like weal snow?”

Noticing Samuel’s shyness, Lily gently took one of his hands and lightly drew patterns on it, softly saying “Round and round the garden…went the teddy bear…one step…two step…tickle you under there!” She said, tickling very softly under his chin. “It’s okay, Sammy. Just focus on the sound of my voice. I’ll keep drawing some pictures on your hand,” she said in a soothing voice. “Have you ever been to an aquarium before? They have lots of fishies there. Do you know about some of the kinds of animals that live in the ocean, rivers, or lakes?” She kept talking to the boy to take his mind off his nervous feelings, drawing patterns upon his hand the whole time, since it usually felt nice and could help him relax. “Do you like your new phone? It says ‘Samuel’ on there. Do you know how to spell your name? I’ll tell you. It’s an S…then an A…” slowly, she began to spell the letters out, drawing each letter on his hand with her fingertip. ===================================== Castile hung up the phone and looked at Aurora, who was being so good in her car seat beside him. “Well, we’re in luck, Princess. I was able to get us the good seats at the front and we can stay after the show is over to get up close and pat the dolphins,” he told her, knowing she would love that. “They’ll play with you and do some tricks, too. The dolphin trainers will be there to help us”. He looked at the Disney Princess bandaid on her left hand. “I think that can probably come off, now. You went to the nurse the other day. It should be all better by now,” he said. “Want me to rip it off at the count of three?” he offered the little girl, knowing that peeling off a sticky plaster hurt more if you did it slowly. Samuel still had his Mickey Mouse bandaid on his left hand, as well. ====================================== Nanny Lyn looked up to the front of the van, waving in response to Castile’s greeting. “Good morning, Castile! Good morning, everyone! Yes, I’m sure Ry is very excited. We made it just in time for the trip today. I have a separate stroller I can use for him, since he’ll need something bigger than the double stroller you guys will be using. And Mr Balverk got us a Bluey diaper bag to bring too. By the way, doesn’t he look so dashing in his adorable Sailor Suit?” she cooed, grinning as she looked at the big baby beside her and took out her phone, snapping a picture. “I’ll get more photos at the aquarium,” she told Ry. “It’s a place where they have lots of animals that live in the water, mostly the ocean but also some freshwater species. There are lots of kinds of fish, manta rays, sharks, octopus, eels, sea snakes and many other creatures”. She smiled when he exclaimed how cool his phone was. “I’m glad you like it. It even has your name on the side in black letters, so we know it belongs to Ry, and won’t get mixed up with Samuel’s”. The nanny gently rubbed the large dragon boy’s knee, hoping to settle his nerves. She looked confused at the question he sent her way. “Game store? I don’t know if there'll be a game store at the aquarium, Sweetie. Maybe there’s one nearby there. Anyway, yes, we’ll have a look and see if there’s any games you want, but I will say that the manor already has a full gaming room with all types of consoles and five TVs. Mr Balverk might already have the newest games in stock,” she explained kindly. “But we can have a look”. She watched his tail wagging like a puppy’s and tried to stay out of the way so she wouldn’t get hit by it. She was glad to see him in a good mood though. ====================================== Mr Goodie looked back, doing a final check that everyone was present and had their seatbelts on. “Everyone ready? Alright then, here we go!” the cheerful man said, starting the van and beginning to drive down the manor’s long driveway then finally, out of the gates, entering the main streets. The aquarium was probably a 20 minute drive away. Scenery passed them by, becoming more full of suburban buildings and areas the further into town they travelled. Mr Goodie put the kids’ radio on and The Wheels on the Bus began playing. ====================================== Mr Balverk knew Savannah was due to start today. He told the gate guard to let her in and she was soon buzzed in, the gate swinging open to permit her entry. Once she walked all the way up the long driveway, past the flower covered graves, to the front door, he opened the door and greeted her. “Good morning, Miss Savannah. It’s lovely to have a new nanny join us. Welcome to Balverk Manor, or as we call it ‘The House of the Lost’. Please, come to my office,” he invited, before leading the way. Mr Balverk sat down and grabbed a box full of things, pushing it across the desk towards the new nanny. “I hope you’ll enjoy being a part of the family here. We are getting new children all the time, so I’m sure you’ll be assigned a child soon. This is your new employee starter kit. It contains a tablet which has the staff handbook app, where you’ll find most of what you need. You’ll also find the help icon on the tablet full of useful information. I’ve given you a staff ID and a swipe card, as well as keys to the Woodland apartments - number 102. They are made for those of non-human nature. We currently have a cat taur staying in apartment 101, right next door to yours. Your three dot key card will allow you to go to places the regular humans do not get to see. For now, you can use a spare uniform but please do visit the tailor so he can measure and fit you and make uniforms to your liking. Inside the box is also a map of the manor, in case you need a bit of help finding your way around,” the man finished speaking. "Any questions?” ===================================== Outside of the manor, a chubby, short, 5 year old boy with tan skin and rosy cheeks waddled up to the gates, having just ran away from his captor in the town. He was a bright burst of colour against the late spring background. He had two large, feathered wings displaying feathers of green, blue and red, in that order, each one being a layer. They looked like angel wings but were in fact, parrot wings. His soft, fluffy hair was red bangs at the front, then green in the middle and then a patch of bright blue at the back and his eyes were a brilliant emerald. He was clutching a paper flyer advertising the ‘House of the Lost’ as he stood on tiptoes to ring the bell for the gate. He seemed dirty and a bit rumpled, out of breath. There were dirt and grass stains on his clothes and twigs and leaves in his hair. When the gate guard talked to him, he spoke up, seeming a bit desperate and jumpy. “Hi! My name is Peach Loveberry! Can I come in? I heard this place was a safe haven! I'm a lovebird!” he told the guard, who let him in. Peach then began to jog down the long driveway, panting and puffing by the time he made his way to the front door. He knocked on it and a maid came and let him in, leading him to the nurses’ station to begin the intake process. Nurse Lacey, the lady with light blue hair and yellow eyes, took him in and began to do the tests and ask him questions, taking his blood pressure, height, weight, age, and other information. Peach just sat there and did whatever she told him, too puffed from the long driveway to talk much. He was very unfit after being in that horrible woman’s house, locked inside a big cage for two years and fed mostly junk food while forced to entertain the woman and her guests. Before that, he had run away from a lab in a tropical country. People just kept kidnapping him and locking him in cages!
  16. “Ah, right. You did say that. It's great that you have that much control and practise with your fire. I’m impressed. And room number 5? Okay. You’ll be closest to Ms Angela and Mr Xeto, and right next to Kara, in room 4,” she said with a smile. Using a tentacle, she tore a note off the kitchen notepad on the fridge, grabbed a pen and wrote down everything he wanted for his room. While writing, she replied to Kara via their mind link. “Alright, Dear. And what theme would you like for your nursery?” she asked her politely. “Sophie has Spring and bunnies. Rei has kittens. Drew has undersea, those are some examples…” “Alright. I’ll get started on decorating your room after I show you around your new home. It should be done before lunch time, at the least,” she informed him. “Oh, nicely done! Clever boy!” She watched him carefully breathe fire on the bowl of noodles. She then fed him the rest of the super heated food, being sure not to burn herself. Once the bowl was empty, she tenderly cleaned his face and hands with some wet wipes before removing his bib, one of her stretchy tentacles putting it in the kitchen hamper. The motherly alien woman cleaned up the dishes and high chair tray using telekinesis before unlocking the baby seat and scooping the blue dragon boy up, draping a towel over her shoulder and holding him so his chin was leaned upon her shoulder. “Now, now, time to get out any air bubbles from that full tummy~” She cooed as she reached up between his wings and lightly rubbed and patted his back through his romper to help him release any trapped gas. “Can you give us a good burp, Ry Ry?” Mama Lolly encouraged her scaly baby. ======================================= “Aw, that’s sad,” Frost said. “I hope life is treating her better nowadays”. He watched her put the toddler boy on the paved ground and pat his brown hair. “I’d follow along behind him to keep an eye on him, if I were you,” Frost told Akiza. “He’s at that age where he might try to eat the flowers or put things in his mouth. Oh, and you can try those other things I suggested, if ya want. Pointing out the pictures in the flower beds and showing him the statues Lollia put in here for the kids would make a neat game. Teaching him the names of flowers and what the colours are…it’s fun to make things educational”. He then began to wheel his chair out of the room, down a path towards the doors. “Well, I’ll leave you to it. I gotta go see how these girls are doing. If you want to come join us, feel free, Miss Hoshi!” he said with a friendly grin and a wave before leaving the conservatory, heading down the hall back into the playroom. Once he got inside, he looked around and saw that Sophie and Rei had finished playing with the Hello Kitty house, overhearing Sophie ask Mr Xeto about getting winter garb so they could play outside. He clapped to get their attention. “Hey, you two! I’ll grab the winter coats and stuff for you. Wait here a sec and I’ll be right back with them,” he advised, spinning his wheelchair around and disappearing with the sound of tinkling beads on the wheel spokes. He went to the storage closet and grabbed a coat, mittens and snow boots for each girl. Rei got the pink and white set while Sophie got the yellow ones. ========================================= “Otay! Fank you Missha Fwosty! We waits hewe,” Sophie called back to the arctic fox, glad that one of the adults responded. “Yay! We gedda pway outside!” she cheered, clapping her hands. She kept talking with Rei while they waited for Frost to come back. “Weah…I get dat. I gots in lotsa twouble a-cause I couldn’t leawn how to use da potty. And dey punish-ded me a lot when I had accidents. It was bad. And sad. I always got scolded fow using my diapees and dey hated changing me. Buh now dat I’m hewe, I tan be happy in my diapees ebewy day! I like dis home da mostest out of alla dem”. She looked at Rei with sympathy. “I woulda runned away too. Dat sounds tewwible! Poow Wei. But now you safe hewe” She said, unable to imagine how hard it would be to have to clean up your own accidents. She felt a little bad for making fun when Rei said she didn’t know Mr Xeto was an alien. “Sowwy…now you knows. Missha Xeto is fwom outside-space. He’s definitely an aliem!” She smiled as she stood up from their game of house and brushed down the skirt of her dress, making sure it sat nicely. “Dun wowwy, Missha Fwost will be back soon. Ya! I wish we could be like him. I would tuwn into a bunny like him and you could be a kitty!” she said enthusiastically, just as she looked up and saw Frost wheel back into the playroom, some winter clothes on his lap. “He’s back! Missha Fwost, tan chu help dwess Wei? I tan pud my coat and stuffs on by my ownself,” she said, wanting to be nice and let her friend go first. She waddled up to him and took the yellow garments, starting to put her feet in the fur lined snow boots and pull on the mittens. ======================================= “What’s this I hear about wanting to be like me?” Frost jokingly asked as he entered the playroom, his chair leaving double line indents in the spongy, colourful block flooring. “Sure, Sophie Hon, I can do that. If you need any help getting dressed, let me know,” he said, before taking the pink coat and holding it out with the sleeves facing him so that Rei could step up and put her arms in. “Okay Miss Rei, you get the pink ones. Whenever you’re ready, step into your winter coat, Sweetie. Then we have to put your mittens and snow boots on,” he instructed warmly, “I’ll come outside with you two, so just go ahead and wait at the back door for me. I gotta keep watch while you play, to make sure you’re both safe and I can help if you need something”. The fox wagged his tail, giggling when he saw that Sophie managed to put her boots on the wrong feet, and her coat on inside out. He quickly helped her fix them, patting her bunny ears. “Aw, good try, Baby Bun. You almost had it this time. Looking nice and sunny in that bright yellow! Alright, let’s get into the snow! Let’s enjoy the winter wonderland that’s waiting for us in the backyard,” he said, ushering the girls along. “I’ll meet you out there, so go ahead! I’m grabbing a few toys for outdoor play”. He stayed behind, gathering the snow toys from the playroom shelves to bring outside. Arms and lap now full, Frost wheeled around and saw Sophie and Rei still standing there, waiting for him in their winter garments. “I got some stuff for decorating and dressing snowmen, along with shovels, snowball makers, snow markers, sleds, scoops, ice bubbles and some black cardstock to catch snowflakes!” he announced. “Let’s play!”
  17. “Sure, I’d be happy to,” Lollia responded, taking the plastic handle of the fork and twirling some of the noodles onto it, cutting them off with the spoon before feeding him a mouthful of the warm, cheesy goodness. “Ahh, so you DO have some fire breathing capability. I’m glad you told me that. It’s very important for me to know, so I can prevent fire accidents,” she said, feeding Ry another bite when he was ready. “What comes next? Well…after this, I’ll clean up a little and then I’ll show you around your new home. It’s very big, so you’ll need to see where everything is. And once that’s over, I’ll help you pick a bedroom and decorate it the way you like. You can choose the crib, changing table, walls and flooring and much more. Some rooms are already taken, so you will have to pick one that’s free,” Lollia told him while she continued feeding him. She considered how to handle Ry’s fire abilities. “When you start school with Mr Xeto next week, I’ll have to do some training with you so you can practice using your fire breath safely, as well as get better at flying,” she said. “Also, I must stress; please do NOT use your fire breath inside if you can help it. You should only breathe fire when you are outdoors and try not to hurt anybody. I think I’ll make your room fireproof, just for safety reasons”. She wondered what colour his fire was and how much control he had over it. “I’ll make some training courses outside for our lessons, when they start,” she promised. “Just like they have in the Spyro games. Frost listened to Akiza tell him about her roommate from when she was young. “It’s interesting that you used to live in an orphanage and now, here you are, working in one. Maybe that makes this place seem more familiar. I hope it does. We try hard to make this one of the good ones. It’s a good thing we have more options for controlling and limiting powers nowadays, and that we can afford to purchase them”. He paused. “And that sounds pretty scary. I wonder how many fires that girl started. Did the staff put her in a fireproof room, or help teach her healthy alternative ways to express her anger? It sounds like they couldn’t find a power nullifier for her to wear. That must’ve been tough. Since the other kids knew that making her angry would get a really good explosive reaction, it probably just encouraged them to bug her even more. I feel bad for her. Kids can be cruel, even if they don’t always realise they’re being it,” he said, feeling sorry for the other girl. “I bet if they got injured by her fire then they wouldn’t be so keen on provoking a reaction. She probably used fire as a threat to get them to leave her alone at times too”. Hearing the names she was given, he smiled. “As nicknames go, those are pretty cool. I hope she was able to gain better understanding and control of her powers eventually and live a happier life. Being angry so often is bad for your health. It makes you age faster too. It takes a lot for a chill guy like me to get angry,” he informed her, “Though even I have my limits”. The arctic fox watched her interact with Andrew fondly, hoping the tot didn’t try to eat the fish food she put in his hand, but would instead give it to the ever-hungry guppies. To his relief, Akiza gave him instructions and Andrew followed them. Frost snickered as he watched the fish all come to the surface and snatch the food, their tiny mouths biting at the rainbow flakes. “Yay, good job, Andrew! You got all the food into the pond. The fish are eating it up, see? Those guys are always hungry”. He looked back at Akiza. “You might wanna put Andew down and let him wander a bit. The conservatory is nice and warm and there’s wending paths and plenty of things to see in here. I sometimes put the kids in one of the hanging chairs and push it like a swing, or show them the different garden statues and flowers. He can put his hands in the water bubblers or the stream but it’ll probably be cold, ahehe,” he chuckled, “Not that it bothers ME, of course. Oh, or you could try taking him to play with the other kids. I left Sophie and Rei in the playroom beside the living room. I should probably get back to them, so Xeto isn’t left alone. Unless you want me to stay”. ========================================================= Sophie nodded emphatically, rabbit ears bobbing. “Yes. I do! I neba hadded such a good fweind a-fowe. ‘Cause peoples always get a-scawed of my magic when it does weiwd stuffs,” she said softly, sounding a little sad as she looked away. “Buh Miss Lolly lets me use it ebewy day, so it bes good fow me most da time now. It only plays up when I don’t use it enough and twy to holds it all inside. It huwted peoples in da past and den da gwowed ups said I wasn’t ‘llowed to play wiff othew kids in case I huwts dem”. The more she tried not to use her wild magic, the more it lashed out and escaped. It would build up inside her if she didn’t release some of it every day. She normally used it to control her plushies, animating them and making them act according to her will. She could do this 3 times per day max before she ran outta juice. Getting back to the topic at hand, Sophie heard Rei reply to her question about what aliens eat. “I fink dey eat made-up foods wike what’s on Neopets and in cawtoons and some bideo gamies. And Missha Xeto is an aliem. Didn’t chu knows dat? He’s sittin’ wight oba dewe!” she pointed towards him and giggled. “He eben has dose antenna fingies like bugs do,” she snickered, putting her hands up to her forehead and poking her pointer fingers out to demonstrate what she meant. She wondered if that meant that he could talk to bugs. Since he was like them in some way. Sophie was glad that Rei agreed to playing outside. “Yay! Dat’s good. I needa wun off some enewgy” the girl stated, shifting restlessly. It startled her and she jolted, falling over onto her back “Ahh!” Sophie flailed, clutching her head. “What was dat?!” Once she calmed down a bit, Sophie sat up, her hand over her heart “Phew! And I’ll let Nanny Lyn know to get your tablet from your cubby” She wrote something in his note file before he was passed on to Nanny Lyn and out of her hands. =========================== The blonde nanny smiled kindly at the tall dragon boy, searching through the racks and shelves and picking out several pieces of clothing that were large enough to fit Ry but obviously designed in an infantile manner. They each had neatly made wing slits and tail holes in the back. “Well, I will let you in on a little secret; today’s trip is to the aquarium. You’re lucky that Nannies Castile and Lily haven’t left with Mr Goodie yet. I relayed a message to him to let him know you are coming and to wait for you to meet them at the van. Now, I’ve got several outfits here. Which one do you like?” she asked, holding them up to show him. One was a sailor’s outfit with a cute hat and suspenders. The other two were a blue bodysuit patterned with starfish, seashells and nautical ropes and a romper with all kinds of fishies printed on it. The sailor suit was navy blue and crisp white, while the romper and bodysuits were different shades of blue. It would be cute to dress the boy in something aquatic themed for the outing to the aquarium. Once Ry picked one, she dressed him on the changing table, then helped him sit up and smiled, making small adjustments to his clothes so that they sat just right. “Aren’t you just adorable in your little outfit, eh? So handsome!~” she cooed, pinching his cheek and fussing over Ry. “The colour matches nicely with your scales”. She heard a knock at the door and went over, taking something from the person outside with a thank you. It was a Bluey printed diaper bag and Ry’s tablet was inside, in a separate pocket, along with a blood glucose tester plus lots of diapers and changing supplies. “Look at that; Mr Balverk had the staff pack a diaper bag in record time for your little trip today. They put your tablet inside in case you want to use it. And I think we had better head down to the van. You can design your new bedroom when we get back this afternoon”. The nanny informed him, making sure she had her own handbag with her, containing her staff ID, swipe card, and other such things. “Alright, I’m good to go”. She walked over to Ry, helping him down off the changing table. “Come on, let’s get going, baby boy. Don’t worry if you don’t know the way; I will lead you there. Let’s hold hands so you don’t wander off and get lost, okay? Come with Nanny Lyn”. So saying, she put her warm, soft hand in his larger one, unafraid of his claws, and began to lead the way through the manor and out to where the van was parked out front. She brought Ry to the van and helped him inside, where he could notice that the inside was much bigger than the outside. Lyn led him to the back and directed him to sit in a large car seat that looked like a toddler one. She clipped the five point harness on, then reached into the diaper bag and took out a pacifier that was on a lanyard with a clip. She clipped it to his clothing and patted his knee. “Here you go, sweetie, in case you get nervous and need to calm down”. Nanny Lyn then sat beside him and buckled her seat belt, seemingly not caring how big Ry looked next to her. Something was passed back to her from Mr Goodie and she showed it to Ry. “Oh look, Ry! Mr Goodie has given you a phone! Isn’t that nice? Thank you Mr Goodie!” She called out her thanks to the driver then showed him the blue phone that had his name on it in black lettering and was strung onto a colourful bead necklace. Lyn opened the phone case and showed Ry his photo ID and his blue credit card. “This card has $500 on it, so if you see anything you want at the gift shop, or we need to get lunch while we’re out, we can use that. Let’s have you wear it so it doesn’t get lost,” she said, leaning up to pass the string of chunky beads over his head so the phone hung around his neck. “You can easily call me or your friends on this phone, and send text messages”. ===================================== Once Mr Balverk finished speaking, Lily knew what to do. “I see. Thank you for telling me all that. Yes, I have noticed he gets sleepy quite often. So that’s why. It’s great that you found a solution that will never run out. Very useful,” she commented with a smile. “In fact, I think now is the perfect time to try it out. He’s nodding off again before we’ve even gone anywhere”. Seeing Samuel yawn and begin to sag in her arms, she reached up to the rose and her hand went through the bubble barrier, plucking a pretty blue petal and bringing it in front of Samuel’s face. Lily shook his shoulder to wake him a bit and waved the petal so he could see it. “Sammy, open your eyes. Here, eat this petal. It’s from the mana rose. It’ll make your sleepiness go away for a couple of hours,” she told him. She looked at Mr Balverk “And of course we will take lots of photos. We are making memories together today” she assured him gaily. ======================================= “It should taste like blue raspberries and blueberries,” Mr Balverk said to Samuel as he looked at the rose petal. “Go ahead, Dear boy. Give it a try!” he encouraged in a friendly manner, with his usual nice expression. “I got this rose especially for you. So you wouldn’t have to take yucky medicine. Should make your life much easier, ho ho. You don’t want to fall asleep when you could be learning and playing”. ====================================== Miss Lily fed Samuel the petal and checked her tablet, seeing the icon pinpointing Samuel’s location. Satisfied that it was working correctly, she slid it back into her tote bag. She then got to her feet, shifting Samuel onto her hip and watching Mr Goodie take the double stroller with the diaper bags, getting ready to bring them to the van. “Well, we should get going so we aren’t late for the dolphin show. Thank you for everything Mr Balverk, and Mr Goodie”. With that said, Lily began to follow Mr Goodie as he wheeled the stroller out of the dining hall and along the hallways, going into a big elevator that would take them to the ground level. The diaper bags were underneath the stroller in the basket. When they got outside, Mr Goodie went to get the van and put the double stroller and diaper bags in the back of the van. He then got into the driver’s side and pressed a button which caused a sliding door to open on the side of the van, revealing the seats and space inside. Lily carried Samuel in and found a carseat, strapping him into it. She then sat beside him, looking around in awe as she put her tote bag beside her. “Wow, this van is huge on the inside! It could fit a whole classroom of kids!” =============================== Castile listened to Mr Goodie tell them all about the phones. He helped Aurora hang the phone around her neck, praising her for using good manners and saying thank you to Mr Balverk and Mr Goodie for their gifts. “Well, now we won’t lose you!” the cat laughed, petting her head affectionately. “Thanks for the watch and phone, my kind gentlemen. I’ll make sure she doesn’t misplace them. What a great idea to give to all the kids. You truly are so thoughtful,” he smiled. Once their little talk was over, he too got to his paws and carried Aurora close, falling into step beside Lily and Samuel as they all followed Mr Goodie downstairs using the elevator and then out the front to the big van. He stepped inside and saw that Lily had already strapped Samuel into a carseat. Looking around, Castile decided to put Aurora in the car seat that was on the bench seat across from Lily and Sammy. He buckled her all in secure then lifted the sectional seat part of the bench up and sat beside her in the free space, easily able to fit his cat taur half. “Well, well, this van certainly has an excellent spell on the inside. It’s rare that I can find a car that has enough room for me”. Once the party of 4 were seated, Castile and Lily heard voices approaching and they both watched as the small, blonde nanny Lyn led a big, blue dragon into the van, tugging him down the aisle and putting him in a big toddler car seat at the back, where there was more room. Castile tried not to stare but honestly, he was curious “Oh, that must be Ry. He’s the new boy,” he said to Aurora before moving to look towards the back seat and give a friendly wave “Good morning, Nanny Lyn. Good morning, Ry. It’s nice to have you join us”. He then turned back to Aurora. “Don’t be afraid, Honey. Ry only looks big because he’s a dragon but I heard that he’s actually only 12 years old and, while I know that’s older than you, it means he’s still just a kid. Oh, before I forget, I gotta ring to book the dolphin show!” So saying, he took out his phone and made sure to book seats for Aurora, himself, Lily, Samuel, Ry and Lyn. He hung up and flashed a toothy smile “There, and I got us good seats too”. ================================= Lily looked at Ry and Nanny Lyn enter the vehicle, her eyes going wide “Goodness, he’s a bit taller than I thought! Dragons certainly get large, don’t they?” she asked no one, speaking quietly to herself. She then turned her chocolate brown gaze to Samuel, her pink cheek circles making them look cuter. “It’s okay, Sammy. Ry is going to be our new friend. Let’s be nice to him, okay? Look, Mr Goodie just gave him a phone, just like you. That means you’re both little kids”. ================================= The gate guard let Sebas in after doing a quick background check, since he was an adult. They were instructed to be more cautious with adults, whereas they always let children in immediately. Once he made it up the long driveway to the front door, someone with bright pink hair answered the doorbell. She was a short woman with green eyes and half circle glasses, wearing a nurse’s outfit. Darla listened to Sebas and smiled, responding to his greeting. “Hello there and welcome to Balverk Manor, otherwise known as House of the Lost. Yes, that is all true! We accept people of all types at the manor. I am Ms Darla. You are in the right place. We’ve been expecting you. Please, do come in and I’ll take you to the nurses’ station for your intake assessment. Then you will have a small chat with Kate, the social worker, and from there, we’ll pass you over to the nannies’ station, where you’ll be assigned a personal nanny as your caregiver. They will help you to get new clothes and design a room for yourself to live in while you’re here. If you do not want a caregiver, then please let us know”. This is a very long reply but am hoping from here they get shorter lol)) Lily saw Samuel eying the stroller and hoped he wouldn’t make a fuss about being put in it. He was eating well this morning and had a good appetite. Although that could’ve been because his breakfast had a lot of sugar and was essentially a kind of junk food. She’d have to make sure they had a healthy morning tea and lunch. Lily was taken off guard when Mr Balverk took some smart watches and handed one to her and one to Castile. She thanked him and took it out of the box, fastening it onto Samuel’s left wrist. “Look, Sammy! Mr Balverk gave you a present. A brand new smart watch. Isn’t that nice?” she asked him cheerfully. The watch had a soft, rubbery wristband (likely silicone), so it’d be comfortable on delicate child skin. It was blue and the face of the watch was a smooth rectangle that was durable and wouldn’t break easily during regular play. “This will make sure that you and Aurora don’t get lost. And if you do, it will help us find you,” she explained. “Do not take this off under any circumstances,” she told him. “I’ll let you take it off at the end of the day, when we get back home, if you want to”. Once Samuel was done eating and full up, Lily helped Castile wipe him clean with a soft damp cloth, removing the bib to take to the laundry hamper. She then took the boy out of the highchair and balanced him on her hip, getting ready to talk to Mr Balverk and Mr Goodie before they would leave. Mr Goodie was going to be the one driving them to the aquarium today. “Okay, let’s go over and have a chat with those lovely gentlemen who greeted us this morning,” she cooed. Lily approached their table and sat down across from them, setting Samuel on her lap, her arms loosely holding him as she patted him to keep him calm. “Hi there, sirs. We’re ready when you are,” she said brightly, “Don’t mind Sammy; he’s a little shy”. ===================================== Castile took the watch from Mr Balverk and thanked him, strapping it around Aurora's left wrist. Hers was pink and had the same spongy wristband as Samuel’s. “Like Miss Lily just said; this will help us track you down if we get separated. So no taking it off, okay?” he told Aurora, his voice loving but firm. Once she was done eating, he cleaned her off with wet wipes and tossed them in the bin, removing her bib and letting it join the other used bibs in the laundry hamper. Castile noticed her body language was signalling nervousness and deduced it was probably about Ry joining them. Aurora and Samuel were both pretty shy people. He hoped that Ry would make a good impression on the two and they’d start to feel more comfortable as they spent the day together and got to know each other. His height and species were going to work against him but his speech, actions and personality would hopefully balance that out and prove that he was trustworthy. That he was just a kid, like them. Castile picked Aurora up from her highchair once she was clean, also holding her to his side, making sure her dress was swept under her bottom and not scrunched around her legs. “Alright, everyone ready?” he asked, looking around the table and high chairs, seeing all their breakfast was eaten. “Let’s go and have a talk to Mr Balverk and Mr Goodie and see what presents they have for you”. The cat taur stepped towards the table the two men sat at, noticing how the staff of the kitchen were extremely polite and worked fast around them, giving the owner of the mansion due respect. “Hello again Mr Balverk, Mr Goodie. We’ve finished breakfast with the little ones and we’re ready to talk,” he said calmly, his hind paws sitting while the tail wrapped around his flank. “You say you have something to give to Aurora and Samuel today?” Castile could smell that Aurora’s diaper was wet. But her bladder was only small, and the diapers were high absorbency, so it could probably take two more wettings before it needed a change, likely in a couple of hours. ====================================== Mr Balverk spoke first, smiling politely. “Hello, Miss Green, Mr Lightswirl. Thank you for joining us today. That’s okay. Little ones are often shy. Though, hopefully, they’ll get to know both of us and we’ll seem less scary one day,” he said with a chuckle. Blue eyes shifting to Castile, he nodded. “We do indeed! Something that we give to all of the children who come to live at the manor. I’ll let Mr Goodie present them to you now”. He looked over to his colleague expectantly. ======================================= Mr Goodie, a young looking man in a three piece blue suit with a striped tie, was sitting beside Mr Balverk and seemed eager to give out his gifts. “Right you are, Sir!” He grinned as he took two kids’ smart phones out of his bag, placing one on the table in front of Castile and one in front of Lily. “Yes, yes, I have them right here. One for you, Samuel, and one for you, Aurora. These are brand new phones, as you can see. You both get your very own phones to use while you are with us. Isn’t that exciting? They can be used to call your nannies, or other children that live at the manor. You can also send messages to your friends and caregivers. Those are their two basic functions” He pushed the phones across the table towards the others, watching the nannies pick them up and show them/offer them to the kids sitting on their lap and in their arms. Aurora’s one was a girls’ model, so it was pink. Samuel’s was a boys’ one, and was blue. Each of the phones had a bead necklace made of large, colourful plastic beads in bright colours attached to it. This meant the kids could wear their phones around their necks and never lose them. When the phones were turned on, they had a display screen which showed a ‘quick dial’ feature and contained each child’s name, plus the nurses’ station, nannies’ station and Mr Goodie’s number. Samuel’s phone had his name on it in black letters, and so did Aurora’s but in purple. The phones had a protective case with a panel that you flip open and closed that had a card holder. In the card holder was a pink credit card for Aurora and a blue one for Samuel. They also each had an ID card with a photo that was taken when they first came in. Mr Goodie spoke. A well rehearsed speech that he had said many times. "You can call me Mr Goodie. I am here to get you things you want and take you places, so in short, I am your driver and I will go buy things for you or take you to go buy them. You have $500 on your cards and if we see things that cost more, I call Mr B. There's always new bedding designs and other play stuff you all might want. We have not had many permanent guests but you lot seem to fit the bill to be here for a while. If you ever feel there's a better place, ask and we will help but while you're here, I am here to help get stuff you want. As you might have seen, the adults have picked most of what's here and you may not like some stuff, which is my job to help fix. Any questions?" =========================== Lily raised her hand. “I have a question for Mr Balverk, actually” =========================== Mr Balverk looked at her, amused, “Go ahead” he kindly prompted. ========================== Lily blushed slightly as everyone’s attention fell on her. “Well…I’ve been wanting to know from the start, Sir, but…that blue rose in the bubble that you gave to Samuel; what is it for? It follows him everywhere. And I know blue roses are impossible in nature. So this isn’t an ordinary rose. It must have some meaning, does it?” ============================== Mr Balverk nodded, crossing his arms as he continued right on smiling. “That was part of what I was going to talk to you about today, after Mr Goodie finished handing over the goodies,” he said playfully with a laugh. “In fact, the nurses’ clinic has confirmed my suspicions that Samuel has mild narcolepsy. Based on all the comments from his previous carers about how much he would fall asleep or get sleepy so often during the day. I am sure you’ve noticed by now. Well, that blue rose isn’t just for show, or a pretty bauble. It’s actually a mana rose. I can’t say who made it or where I got it but I can tell you how to use it. Give Samuel a petal from the mana rose to eat every morning and at night, and the sleepy episodes during daytime should happen less often. You can also give him a petal if he gets sleepy and it will give him an energy boost and chase the tiredness away for some time. The petals taste good and dissolve in your mouth like candy. They always grow back, so the rose will never run out. This is an exceptionally rare and expensive rose, so it is in a protective bubble that will not allow anyone to steal it and will always follow its main user”. He then looked at Samuel “And I hear that you had a visit from Mr Wong the other day. He informed me that Samuel has a little cold but it seems like those medicinal candies he gave you are doing their job. The boy is looking well enough to go on the outing today, thanks to that,” he paused, collecting his thoughts. “Now, when you are all ready, Mr Goodie will take you out to the van and get everybody seated in their car seats. There’s plenty of room in the back for you, Mr Lightswirl, and for Ry, so don’t worry about that. I have had the cars enchanted so the insides are bigger than they look on the outside. The double stroller and diaper bags should fit in the back storage just fine. I hope you all have fun today. And please, do use your phones to snap photos of the kids during their trip. We can put them in their photo album and digital scrapbooks as keepsakes and add captions to them. Immortality can be a curse otherwise. Oh, thanks for telling me that. I’ll pass that on to the nurses as well so we can give you the best care. They should be able to get Nanny Lyn a glucose tester and some emergency candy to monitor your blood sugar. Are you sure you’re not diabetic? Spider Man 2…I’ll take note of that when we are booking the movie tickets. Where is your tablet? You didn’t come in with one? I’ll ask Mr Goodie to give you a new one for your writing and school use” She closed her notebook. “Well, I think we are all done here. Come on now, Dear. You’ll need clothes if you want to go on the outing with Samuel and Aurora today. Let’s see the nannies and they can get you an outfit plus help you design your new room and choose more clothes to be made for you by our tailors”. She stood up, tucking her notebook in her shirt pocket and took Ry’s hand, leading him over to the nannies’ station as though he was a tiny tot that couldn’t get there without help. “Nanny Lyn, Ry is ready for you. Hearing what he wanted to eat, she nodded as she began to carry him out of the big changing room and through the hallways back to the kitchen and dining areas. “Yes, that should be no trouble at all,” she said, finally reaching the room and showing him the seating arrangements “Do you want to sit in a highchair or at a toddler table?” Once Ry gave her his answer, she sat him down securely and went to get a baby bottle, filling it with cold cherry Coca Cola. She placed it down in front of him while her tentacles stretched around the kitchen, grabbing all items needed to make the butter noodles. Soon, she was cooking them on the stovetop and the room was smelling like parmesan cheese sauce. When they were done, Lollia put them in a plastic bowl and got a kiddy fork and a spoon, bringing them over to set them down in front of the 8 year old dragon. She took a bib and tied it around his neck, “Here you go. Do you want to feed yourself or would you like me to feed you?” the kind alien lady asked, her tentacles curling neatly into spirals on her back as the dishes from cooking put themselves into the dishwasher and the leftover ingredients put themselves into containers and back in the cupboards or fridge. Her telekinesis was quite useful. She wondered how Miss Angela was doing with Kara at the moment and decided to give her a reminder, talking to her in her mind “Miss Angela, after Kara and her plushie lion are dried off and dressed, she would need to choose a bedroom and pick how she wants it decorated. The empty rooms are upstairs. And then she might want to meet the other kids in the house,” she told her, so Angela would know what to do. ====================================== Frost’s eyes widened and he clicked his fingers. “Oh, snap! A fire wielder,” he chuckled. “I hope they had good control over their powers and didn’t burn down that orphanage,” he said, curious as to how the other place regulated those kinds of dangerous powers. If it was a kid, they’d have to use power limiters or fire retardant mittens or something…otherwise it could be explosive. And not all fire elemental users were redheads. Fire could come in different colours. So there was no way to really tell to begin with. It was a good thing that here, they would try to train kids to get better control of their abilities. “Fire’s my weakness, since it’s my exact opposite. I’m an ice or winter elemental. Kinda like Elsa, from Frozen,” he explained. “That’s why I love this time of year the most. We have this month and February and then Spring will start creeping in during March and all the snow and ice will melt away. I always get a bit bummed out at that,” the fox said with a grin and small laugh. “I do well during the rest of the year but summer bites. What’s your favourite season?” Frost made sure to keep some concentration on the ice globe he had made to win over Drew’s trust and interest. He was glad to see a smile soon appear on the boy’s small face, which made him wag his tail. Hearing him babble cutely, Frost grinned, his ears moving to show he was listening “Is that so? You sure have a lot to say, all of a sudden, Cutie. I’m listening!” he answered playfully, pretending to understand. Seeing him reach for the container of guppy food, he pointed it out to Ms Hoshi “Uhh, Ms Hoshi? I think Andrew is ready to feed the fish now,” he said, making the ice orb float back over to him before it dissipated in a puff of sparkly ice magic, leaving cold mist in the air for a second or two. “Those fishies are getting hungry, Drew. You better feed them soon,” Frost joked, wheeling to the edge of the meshed over pond and leaning down to watch the rainbow fish swimming. ======================================= Sophie blushed when she heard Rei praising her, making the girl emit nervous giggles. “Aw, fank you, Wei. You awe so nice!” she replied, fidgeting. “I like pwaying wiff you a lot. You’we my fiwst weal fwiend. Hey, aftew dis, do you wanna play outside in da snow? It’s bewy cold but bewy pweddy” Sophie tipped her head back to look at Xeto, her bunny ears twitching. “Huh? You didn’t tells me what you like to eat, Missha Xeto!” she called after him as he just simply nodded then walked away. Clutching the MaMa cat doll in her hands, Sophie looked at the teacher playing on his tablet and then looked at Rei. “Dat was wude, wasn’t it? What do you fink he eats? He’s a aliem. So dat means he has weird food, wight? I wondew whad aliems eat?” She decided to resume playing for the meantime, leaning back over the open plan dollhouse and pretending to make MaMa cat cook omelettes and serve them for the two kitties. “Hewe you go, Kitty. Dinnew ish weady. Be caweful, it’s hot. Don’t buwn youw paws. And wemembew to use a fowk” Moving the cat figurine to the table where two plates sat, Sophie made pretend eating sounds. “Yum yum yum, dis is sooo good! Aftew dis, let’s make an aliem food and bwing it to Missha Xeto!”

He was tall for a 12 year old, about the size of an adult human, in fact. Yet he definitely stated that he was 12, so still a child, despite his appearance. She would have to make sure others knew that so he wasn’t mistaken for a caregiver or adult while in public. Nodding along to show she was listening, Kate scribbled down the kinds of diapers and fandoms he was into, so that the manor staff could use those while caring for him. “There’s nothing wrong with a boy liking My Little Pony, or things that are gendered towards girls. You don’t have to explain yourself, Hon. No one is allowed to bully you here. You’re free to like what you like”. She then listened to his backstory, up until he came to the orphanage, writing down the main points. “So, you hatched all alone and then raised yourself? That sounds like it would have been very lonely or hard at times,” Kate frowned, “You don’t need to worry about that any more. You’ve been love starved but now you should get all the TLC you need,” she explained, making notes in his file. It was amazing that he'd grown up so well adjusted and polite, even though he had no one to teach him social skills or manners. “Everyone deserves somebody who cares about them. I am sorry whoever made your egg wasn’t around to raise you. Sounds like you have a lot of catching up to do. I’m glad you found your way here”. Kate was impressed that he had learned all the basic life skills on his own. It was lucky his species was a kind that matured rapidly, in some ways. But in other ways, not so much. He shouldn’t have had to be isolated for so many years. She wondered if she could send a private investigator to find whoever had stolen his egg, way back when. They might be stealing other dragon eggs too. “You had to change your own diapers, all that time? You poor thing!” Kate said sympathetically. “Well, it’s very impressive that you taught yourself all of that, since there was no one to help you. But I am sorry you had to spend 12 years alone. Now that you’re with us, just relax and let the manor take care of you. You don’t have to try to be a grown up any more and we’ll protect you from grown ups. We do have a school on the grounds to further your studies but usually give the new kids a week or so to settle in before starting classes. Your story is very different from most children here. I think it’s a special case. But I’m glad that there is no one from your past that wants to hurt you. I will send an investigation to find out what happened to your parents, if I can” She finished writing and closed his file, putting it aside to scan into the computer system later. “I just have one last question for you. You said it was your birthday next week? We celebrate birthdays here. Is there anything you want to do for it?” Kate asked him. “I’ll take you to Nanny Lyn next”.
  22. “You’re most welcome, Sweetheart,” Ms Darla replied, hearing that he ate not long ago. “Oh, so you won’t be hungry then. Well, it might be a good idea to meet up with the other new children anyway and get something to drink and snack on”. She expertly cleaned the dragon’s smooth scales, dropping the wipes into the used diaper before bundling it up and putting it in a diaper genie beside the medical bed. When she was about to slide the new diaper under him, she paused, listening to his questions. “Oh, you don’t want monsters? Okay, um, let me see here…” She put the unfolded diaper back away and took out a Tykables Little Rawrs with a blue T-Rex on the landing zone. “Will this do, Honey? We have lots of dragon and dinosaur diapees. Thank you for letting me know those are your favourite”. She opened the clean diaper fully and smoothed it out before gently touching his thigh with a command “Bottoms up, legs in the air”. Once he did that, she slipped it under his tail and stuck the tape at the back that went over top of the tail, then began to rub in baby oil onto his diaper area, adding sweetly scented baby powder afterwards that drifted onto him softly. She lightly rubbed it in and cleaned her hands on a wipe before she pulled the diaper closed, taping it all secure and making sure the leak guards around the leg and tail holes were all standing. Ms Darla began removing his dirty and worn clothing, putting them in a hamper to be taken to the laundry later. “Well, I am not going to dress you myself, but the nannies over at the nanny station will certainly find you something cute to wear,” she informed the young dragon boy. “You’ll have to waddle around in just a diaper for a little while until Kate has finished her interview”. Kate was the social worker who would make the reports and collect paperwork about children’s previous caregivers. She would then inform lawyers where they were and have investigators go out and find more information about the former living situation, why the children have come to the mansion and whether criminal charges need to be laid against the caregivers. They’d put notes on the children’s files, for protection and to make sure their abusers never found them or came near them again. “Well, that’s it, all fresh and clean. Now, I’ll take you to Kate’s office. Come on”. So saying, Darla reached out to help Ry sit up, taking his hands like he was a small toddler and pulling them as he righted himself, then assisting him to step down off the side of the table onto the stepping stool, only letting go once she saw his feet were firmly planted on the floor. She took his hand in her warm, soft one and led him out of her office, past the other nurses, who smiled and made comments about how cute he looked. She knocked on Kate’s door. “Kate? I have the new boy for you. And he needs to be taken to the nannies’ station after he sees you”. The brunette woman who had a stern looking face, aka resting bitch face, looked up from her desk work and smiled. “Sure, leave him with me. I’ll escort him there once we are done”. She then looked at Ry and although she seemed scary when talking to other adults, her face softened and she sounded more kind when speaking to him. “Hello there, Ry. Please, come, take a seat. I am just going to talk to you about your previous circumstances that led to you ending up here. That’s all. After that, the nannies will help you get some new clothes and decide how to decorate your bedroom here. Oh, is that a blue T-Rex on your diaper? Very cool! Come on now, I don't bite...”. ======================================== “Oh you think that’s funny, do you?!” the frog girl asked Sammy playfully before he nearly breathed in a chocolate chip, getting up to pat him on the back, seeing him spit it out. “Be careful, don’t choke on your breakfast! Chocolate chips don’t go in your lungs,” she said jokingly, but soothing at the same time, taking a paper napkin and wiping his mouth. “Here, I’ll get you a sip of milk” she said, picking up the warm baby bottle and putting the teat in his mouth “Drink” she commanded gently, “It will help. There you go, you’re alright…that’s my boy~” she cooed. “Now, eat this bite slower. Chew it carefully…” she stated, picking up a new piece of yummy fluffy pancakes on the kiddy fork and gently popping it into his mouth with soft choo choo train noises. While feeding him, she continued to finish her breakfast, at last pushing her empty bowl away and taking sips of the warm jasmine tea to wash it down, happily rubbing her full belly. She was surprised when Mr Balverk and Mr Goodie turned up, listening to them talk while nursing her teacup in her hands. “Good morning,” she returned the greeting, looking at the man standing beside Mr Balverk. He seemed to have an honest and open expression. ‘So, this is Mr Goodie’, she thought, ‘what a funny name. I hope he’s as nice as his name suggests’. She listened to the rest of what the mansion’s owner said, wondering what kind of phones the kids would be given. Hopefully not a new smartphone. Those were bad for kids. $500 was a lot of money for allowance, too. She’d try to make sure that the kids made wise choices when using their cards, not letting them spend it on junk or something they’d get bored of or not use. Maybe she could use it as a teaching opportunity about budgeting and maths. She saw the double stroller and diaper bags and was thankful for them. Little ones in diapers definitely needed changing supplies and a change of clothes in case of accidents. She’d been wondering who to ask about getting those things. “Thanks, I’m sure we’ll have a nice time,” Lily said to Mr Balverk. “As their nannies, we’ll try to make it a rewarding and educational experience”. Lily was again surprised, hearing about Ry. “A dragon; wow! I wouldn’t expect that. Of course I wouldn’t mind, so long as he’s well behaved. Everyone needs friends. I’m sure Sammy and Aurora would be excited to meet someone like him and they’ll all warm up to each other over the course of the day,” Lily said, optimistic. She did kind of worry about how he would be out in public and around human kids but then she remembered Castile, also a magical creature, sitting right next to her. Other species weren’t extremely common in this world so they were bound to get lots of stares but if anyone tried to cause trouble, she was sure Castile and herself could protect the kids and handle the situation. She just hoped Ry was a good, friendly child and not prone to flying indoors, biting, scratching, breathing fire and that kind of thing. When the two men moved to another table, out of earshot, she reminded herself that she wanted to ask Mr Balverk a question about the rose. ========================================= Castile watched Aurora eat, glancing at her every so often to make sure she was fine and not getting too messy, plowing through his plate of food at a quick rate, the plate almost empty after 10 minutes while the little girl took small bites of blueberry muffin and crunched on chewy bacon, washing her meal down with strawberry milk. He looked up when he heard footsteps and the sounds of a stroller wheeling over the floor, spotting Mr Balverk and Mr Goodie before they reached the table, thanks to his feline sight and hearing. He waited till they got closer and showed a polite grin, “Morning!” Castile’s tail swayed happily when Mr Balverk complimented them being up this early, all dressed and ready for their big adventure. “Greetings,” Castile said towards Mr Goodie as he was introduced, bobbing his head in acknowledgement. Hearing about the phones and cards did make the cat curious but he’d wait to find out more once the kids were done with breakfast. He hoped the phones were just so the kids had a lifeline to adults or other orphan friends at the manor, and not smart phones that were addictive and full of social media. Though he was sure that Mr Balverk was way smarter than to give them that. He was definitely a generous man. Castile eyed the full diaper bags, seeing the one for Sammy was fireman themed and the one for Aurora was princess themed. Easy to tell whose was whose. How thoughtful! He also noticed that the double stroller was sized for bigger children, so Sammy and Aurora would feel little when sitting in the seats being pushed around. He figured he’d do the pushing if their legs got tired, since he was strong enough to without getting tired from the weight of two kiddos. It was probably best to have them strapped in the stroller in crowded areas or when moving from one section of the aquarium to the other. That way, they wouldn’t get lost or kidnapped, or run off suddenly in excitement, wanting to look at something. Underneath the stroller were storage space for the two diaper bags, thankfully. So the nannies wouldn’t be lugging those on their shoulders all day. “Sure!” he answered when Mr Balverk pointed to the table across the room where they would be at. He was glad they said to take their time, since he didn’t want to rush the little ones with their meal. Castile’s ears pricked up when Mr Balverk said there was a newcomer to the mansion. “Ohh, a dragon. How unexpected”, he remarked, intrigued. “I haven’t seen one of those for a long time. I wonder which kind he is. Either way, I’m with Miss Lily. We’d be glad to have the new boy along. He’ll be safe with us two and his own nanny. And being a magical creature myself, I’ll protect him and look out for him. I’m sure he’d feel better knowing he’s not the only one who’ll stand out”. He then looked at Aurora and Samuel. “What do you guys think about that? Are you okay with Ry joining our trip to the aquarium? He’s a dragon but he’s only a child, like you two, so I’m sure he won’t be that big. You never know, you all might become good friends. Don’t be scared, Aurora. I won’t let a dragon kidnap my pretty princess,” Castile said, giving Aurora a playful wink to make her laugh. He then said “It’s nice to give new people a chance. I’m sure Ry is going to be lonely, just like you two when you first got here. Remember…all kids who come here have no family. And Ry should be wearing diapers like you both, so you will have that in common”. Castile waited for the kids to finish eating, downing the rest of the scrumptious feast off his plate (managing to prevent himself from licking it), as well as draining the energising cappuccino, licking the froth moustache from his top lip with a small purr. He loved dairy. Once they were all done eating, he would grab the wet wipes from his duffle bag and begin cleaning them up. “Ready to go see Mr Balverk and Mr Goodie, babies? I hear that Mr Goodie has presents for you!”
  23. Listening to Ry, Lollia addressed his questions and comments. “Yes, of course, Honey”. She stated, turning the hot tap on and adding more hot water to the bath. “Just let me know if it gets too hot. And most dragons do like the heat, that is true,” she agreed, making mental notes of everything he told her. “Mama Lolly just likes to be careful with her new little ones. I didn’t want the water to burn you. Yes, yes, we keep the cartoons and TV shows family friendly here. But older teens can watch whatever they like on their private devices. They’ll still be monitored on our system though. As for what to dress you in after your bath, I’m glad you aren’t picky. We have plenty of clothes though, so we’ll find some suitable playwear for you to wear today. Your other clothes are going to be washed and then you can have them back. Ah, hamburger helper, I will try to remember that. And thank you for telling me about your health conditions, Sweetie, that’s really important for Mama to know. Good boy for telling me those things~ I can take better care of you now that I know”. Lollia watched him play, adding more ducky themed toys to the bath as he splashed around and basked in the heat. “Take your time, Darling, there’s no need to rush your bath. Relax and enjoy,” she purred, “Afterwards, I’ll get a fluffy new diaper on that draggy rump and then you can eat something if you’re hungry. And I’ll give you a tour of the whole house, so you can pick out a room upstairs later. You get your very own bedroom or nursery here and you can have it decorated however you like…within reason”. Once Ry had enough of playing in the tub, Lollia used a tentacle to pull the plug and let the water drain out, getting up as a large, soft, red towel floated towards her and she spread it out, leaning down to wrap it around Ry and rubbing it on his scales to dry him. “Alright, Baby, upsy-daisy! Let’s go and get a Pampers and some playtime clothes in the big changing room now before your little body decides to have another accident,” she smiled, scooping him into her arms and settling him on her hip, still wrapped snuggling in the giant towel. She took him into the changing room and laid him down on a free changing table, pulling a diaper from underneath the table and unfolding it, spreading it out. She lifted his legs and tail, sliding the diaper underneath him and slipping his tail through the hole, taping it up around the back, leak guards around the tail in place. The diaper was a Bambino Classico all over print with pastel blocks that clearly spelled out the letters for B A B Y. While he was lying there, she rubbed on baby oil then shook on white powder, taping the diaper up firmly but not too tight around his waist and giving the front a gentle pat. “There! Diaper sorted. Now let’s pick something for you to wear” she said, as a closet opened and outfits began floating out, parading themselves in the air around her as she used her telekinesis that was oh so helpful. Lolly picked out a white, long sleeved onesie with snaps at the crotch plus some slits and a hole in the back for tails and wings, then added on top a romper/playsuit which was dark gingham blue with coloured cars and trucks on it, also having wing slits and a tail hole. She dressed him in them quickly before picking him back up and playfully booping his nose. “Alright, now you’re ready to play but does my little dragon need some foodies first?” she cooed. “What do you like to eat? I can make you anything” ========================================================= Sophie shook her head “N…no, fank you, Missha Xeto. W-we awe gonna hab ants on a log fow mowning tea. Maybe we can has omelettes fow dinnew” She paused, thinking, clutching her kitty toy tight, “U-umm…what kinda foods do you like, Missha Xeto? D…do you eat alien foods?” ========================================================= The white fox saw Drew’s reactions to the snow globe made of winter magic and hesitated, unsure if that was a good thing. “Wow, your eyes are glowing! Did you know that?” he asked Drew gently and playfully. “It’s okay, it’s okay…look…isn’t it pretty?” he pointed at the ball, showing it to him. “Do you like it? The fishies are made of snow and ice, see?” He made the fish do silly tricks inside the winter ball, hoping to entertain Drew and make him laugh. “Look at the silly fishies playing! They are sooo silly!” he cooed. “Do you want to touch the snow globe? It’s okay. It’s just cold” he said. “It won’t hurt you. Go ahead, grab it if you want. It’s just like a bouncy ball”.   25. “Messy”, Darla concluded, noticing it was wet, as well. The smell wafted up from the diaper, making her wrinkle her nose slightly. “Yes, you do need a change, Sweetie. Your diaper is quite full. Here, come with me to the bed, over here,” she said, taking his hand and gently leading him over to the padded and flat medical bed that had paper sheeting on it for hygiene reasons, as well as a paper cover on the pillow. The curtain was already pushed back. Darla moved a stepping stool out from under the bed and pressed a button on the bed to lower it down so he could climb onto it. “Lay down and I’ll take care of that for you,” she instructed sweetly, with a smile, reaching under the table and taking out a box of changing supplies and a clean, folded diaper, which was the Rearz Lil’ Monsters design but with a hole designed for the dragon’s tail. Above Ry, on the ceiling, a baby mobile was hanging, which had little dinosaurs slowly spinning around. “Let’s get you cleaned up before I take you over to Kate’s office. Can’t have you smelling up her room,” she giggled, starting to unfasten the diaper tapes as soon as he was laying down. She pulled out some large wet wipes from a warming container and began cleaning him up, humming softly while she did so. “When Kate gives you back to Nanny Lynn, she can take you to the dining hall to get some food. When was the last time you ate, Darling?” Darla asked, concerned, as she continued changing him. If Mrs Lynn heard that Castile and Lily were taking Aurora and Samuel on a trip to the aquarium today, Ry might be able to join them, so long as Mrs Lynn came along and watched over Ry. "By the way, no need to hold back on the amount you eat, as we have enough food to match any dragon's appetite. So eat as much as you want for breakfast, okay Honey". ==================================================== Lily put down her spoon after taking another bite of fruit and smoothie puree, chewing and swallowing before she said; “Here, Sugar Plum, let me help you with that!”. Leaning over, Lily picked up the large bottle of pure maple syrup and held it above the pancakes. “Okay, how much do you want? Say when…” she advised, slowly dripping a little bit of the syrup onto the pancake, little by little, so he could stop her at the right moment. “Is this enough?” She didn’t wanna put too much and drown the pancakes and make them soggy. She helped him put any other toppings on the pancakes and then cut them into bite sized pieces for him, saying “This will be easier to eat, Mr Cool Guy. Little bites for a little mouth. Open wide for the cargo train…” Lily stabbed a piece of the pancake on his fork and brought it to his mouth, making a soft “Choo choo…” noise as she waved the fork around before depositing the bite into his mouth. “Eat up! Is it yummy?” While Sammy was chewing, she fed herself more of her own breakfast, accidentally dripping some purple smoothie on her froggy print smock dress. “Oops! Maybe I need a bib too!” she giggled, grabbing a napkin and wiping the spill. She then tucked a paper napkin into her collar and continued eating, laughing at her mishap, feeding Samuel more bites in between eating her own food. His bottle of warm milk was waiting on the side of the highchair tray when he needed a drink. ===================================================== “You’re welcome, Princess!~ Enjoy!” Castile responded to Aurora’s thanks, watching her dig into her sweet yet healthy breakfast food. “Don’t forget your crispy bacon strips”, he reminded her, so they wouldn’t go cold before she could eat them, munching away at his own plate of nosh. “We got a lot to do and see today at the aquarium, so you’ll need as much energy as you can”. Hearing footsteps coming in behind him, Castile turned to see none other than Mr Balverk in his customary suit, along with a man who must be Mr Goodie, who was carrying some fully packed diaper bags and pushing a twin stroller. He was also carrying a bag that had a picture of a cellphone on it. His ears and tail pricked up "Oh!" ==================================== Mr Balverk smiled at the sight of his new nannies and kids in the dining room, walking over to their table and greeting the group. “Good morning, everyone. It’s nice to see you all here, so bright eyed and bushy tailed. I have brought Mr Goodie to meet and talk with you, once you all finish eating. He has some new phones to give to the kids, and their shopping cards as well, for if they want to buy anything on their outings. Plus, he has prepared a double stroller and packed diaper bags for Aurora and Samuel, for their aquarium visit today. I hope it’ll be a fun little outing for you all,” he said cheerfully. “No need to rush. I am going to get myself something from the kitchen, so please take your time. Mr Goodie and I will be over at another table talking, until you are ready for our presentation”. He then remembered something he was told this morning “Oh, by the way, we have a new boy that just arrived this morning. A little dragon named Ry. He might join you for breakfast, along with Nanny Lynn, soon. Would you mind if he wanted to come to the aquarium with you guys today? He hasn’t made any friends yet and I think it would be a good bonding experience”.
