  1. Doh... Can't get into my doc until April 2nd. I guess I'm wearing 24/7 for the next month. That'll be interesting... Oh well, it could be so much worse. I'm just nervous to tell my girlfriend, but I think she will be okay with it. I guess I'll find out tonight or tomorrow...
  2. Yup I'm booked in with my doctor to get it checked out. I actually noticed awhile back that after urinating, I'd quite often end up dribbling a bit for awhile after - but not every time. So I was going to go in for that anyway, now the urge incontinence is just way more than a dribble. And I *HAVE* to wear protection, because I'd have pants completely soaked otherwise. Not easy to explain to a customer...
  3. And I have to say, I'm glad I found a community like this that has so many answers and helps out. It really is nice to know I'm not alone.
  4. I'm wearing the Abena cotton fixing brief over top too. I learned a long time ago that as soon as it gets a little wet, it starts to sag, and a saggy diaper is a leaky diaper. That plus they help keep the noise down too, I like silence!
  5. I keep telling myself that nobody knows or cares. It's only paranoia if nobody's out to get you! LOL
  6. I guess I'm lucky, I enjoyed wearing before, and have a hell of a stash of every kind imaginable. But it was always just for fun before. Realizing that I'm actually needing them kinda sucks. But at least if I have to use them for an actual medical problem, I'll be able to get them paid for by my insurance. One bonus!
  7. I don't have any night time troubles as I'm able to make it to the loo in time. It's when I'm out and about that I have problems. Yesterday I was just driving and it hit... And I didn't quite make it to the washroom in time and had already soaked my underwear. It was less than five minutes between when I first felt the urge to go, and I started to leak. So today I'm in a diaper, working, and feeling paranoid that everyone knows I'm wearing. I decided to wear a Molicare plastic backed, because covered with clothing they make no noticeable noise. But they are kinda bulky... But my thought is that I'm likely going to end up flooding a diaper and if that happens, I would prefer to be in one that actually can handle it. I'd wear a Dry24/7 or Comficare but they are just too loud.
  8. I'm just starting to wear for work, and the paranoia is going to kill me. I don't want anyone to know about my troubles, but I also don't want wet pants. LOL
  9. Oh, and no fever, no color or smell to the urine either. Volumes are normal for me, it's just the ridiculously short notice I get before it becomes impossible to hold back.
  10. I don't get to wear often, so it isn't a result of wearing. Something is definitely changing though, I'm just not sure what. I am a diabetic, and have been for about 15 years, so the possibility of neurogenic bladder is also there. My doctor is really awesome. She never makes me take anything or do anything I don't want to. She also knows I will do all the research I can on a topic so I know the options she gives me and aren't just blindly doing whatever. At this point, I think if she suggested meds I would try them. But if the results weren't perfect or the side effects were bad (I'm not taking anything that causes erectile dysfunction that's for damn sure), I'd just go to wearing 24/7 and call it a day. I wouldn't intentionally try to lose control, but if it means being able to work and live life without wet pants, it isn't the end of the world. I've been too sick in the past to worry about having to wear a diaper 24/7. In all honesty, other than trying to hide it as best I can, I don't really see that it would be a big deal anyway. I guess that's what happens when you have been through a lot, these things become small potatoes. I just want to rule out anything major being the cause - I'd hate to miss an early diagnosis of bladder cancer or something.
  11. So I've been a DL for as long as I can remember. But now it looks like it is time to visit the doctor. I'm 41 and developing urge incontinence. I get maybe a minute or two at most of warning before it becomes absolutely impossible to hold in. I've had a couple small accidents already, so it wasn't just a one time thing. Yesterday I got about 30 seconds warning and couldn't hold it and ended up with wet underwear. I can't have this happen at work, so now I'm (reluctantly) wearing at work. I just needed to share with someone, figured you guys were the best option.
  12. I was just thinking, has anyone tried to modify a female cath to work as a stent? If it has an open end, all it would take is a little melting to create some indentations to stay in place, and a couple holes for a retrieval string....
  13. Sitting in a soaked Attends Extended Wear.... I kinda like the peach color.
  14. Yeah, I'm slightly unimpressed... I'm sure Betty will have a few words...
  15. The sphincter can clamp down and you won't feel anything... Or it can clamp down and become painful... Or it can clamp down and then spasm and become ridiculously painful. Ultimately you may or may not know.
  16. I didn't order sample packs, I ordered full packages of each.
  17. So after an evening in the Comficare, I have to say that it is an incredible diaper. It fits me better than anything else I've tried, and due to it's shape (and my lack of hips, my waist and hips are the same size) it actually stays in place when completely soaked. And the amazing thing is that it holds floodings so well. The only downside is that because there is so much thick plastic, it is HOT to wear. So when that was soaked, I tried one of the ConfiDry 24/7. The smaller size fit me so much better! I really like this diaper too, and it goes to show that finding the right size is paramount, and that sizing varies wildly between brands.
  18. I usually order a pack of anything for the most part. The only time I have ordered cases was if there was a fantastic deal. I'm in Canada so I ordered from AgeComfort.com... They are kinda slow to fill orders but they carry pretty much everything.
  19. The Abena S4 definitely fits me better than the M4. I soaked that, so now I'm in a Comficare. I have to say im impressed with the tapes and landing zone, using the markings got me a fantastic fit. It's also super comfortable, we will see how it compares once it's soaked. Ahhh I love new diaper day!!!
  20. Abena S4 ... I have to say, I like the smaller fit. At first I wasn't too sure, but as I wear it longer I realize it hugs my legs much better than the M4 did. Once it is soaked we will see how it holds up!
  21. My order finally came in, I'm so happy I could pee my pants. LOL I decided to play with some different sizes to see what fits me best. I've lost a bit of weight, and am about a 31" waist now, so I'm finding some don't fit as well as I'd like. I've normally been ordering mediums but tried some small this time. Here is what I got... Abena M4 (fits a bit big but still works well) Abena S4 (wearing one now, fits very well) Comficare Medium (can't wait to try one tonight!) ComfiDry 24/7 Small (the mediums were HUGE on me) Molicare Medium So I got a bit order happy the other day and ordered a few more to try that I've never used before, hopefully they show up next week: Attends Extended Wear medium (never bought Attends, had to check them out) Molicare premium soft medium (I like the plastic, decided to check out the cloth like ones) Tena Slip Maxi small (I am betting these won't fit but small is the only size I could get, I figured it was worth a shot) I'm well padded and well stocked right now. It's amazing to see the difference in shapes and thicknesses, textures and designs. It's no wonder people swear by one brand or another, there is a shape for everyone!
  22. Unfortunately I'm in Canada, so it's too expensive to ship across the border. :-(
  23. It used to be that when I'd order from Agecomfort they'd ship almost right away and I'd get my order in days. The past few orders it has been getting slower and slower, I'm waiting 8 days now and have yet to see my order actually ship. Six days to get an order fulfillment notice - and still no tracking numbers so still not shipped. This is the third order that's gone like this.... Anyone else in the same boat? I'm not impressed.
  24. Growing up we are taught that there is nothing worse than wetting the bed. It's such a strong psychological barrier to break, it just takes time and persistence.
  25. The big thing with wetting in bed isn't to force/push, but rather to relax as much as possible. It's the opposite of what you'd expect.
