  1. Pull-ups don't do it for me either medically or after a fashion. I agree about the currency/frequency thing, here in the UK all our pharmacies stock Tena Pants and Attends Pull-ups.
  2. Just as a note, I recently ordered some $30 worth of diapers from ABUniverse, last Wednesday I think it was, today is Monday and Fed-Ex were here [i am in the UK] at 10.30am, now that is how it should be but isn't always I guess.
  3. I guess too weird [for me] would be anything babyish, dummy-sucking, romper-suits and especially those baby-print plastic pants but, wait!!!... out of curiosity I did order a small pack [10] of SDK from ABU, so who knows, I can't and don't judge, whatever feels good for a person, go do it, life is way too short to worry...
  4. My online GF lives in San Francisco. She knows of my condition. She was amazed at the difference in our health care, especially when I told her that if I were ill and had problems looking after myself, I have a number to call and a nurse is supplied to look after me. And that is through standard NHS care; why the US in contrast seems so different and uncaring is alien to me, I feel for you and glad that I don't live there.
  5. In 1980, I was seventeen. Sure I was used to being seen as geeky and different because of my disability but I don't remember anything controversial [at least here in the UK] - what was controversial about diapers exactly?
  6. I agree about soap. My incontinence nurse taught me that a while ago. Soap used to get dry under the foreskin and cause soreness. As for rashes, I've hardly had this but mainly because I have routine and change as soon as is needed, wherever I am I have my changing bag with everything I need. I also find that if there is a slight soreness or the signs of a rash, applying Sudocrem helps.
  7. Me too. While I'm fine about the fetish side, there are still many people who will give you funny looks and associate your attire with a fetish when you genuinely have a medical disability. I guess the real problem is that nappies are always associated with babies. If this wasn't so, we wouldn't have a problem and be writing about this!
  8. I remember being in cloth up to age maybe seven/eight with rubber pants over the top. But this was 1970. I have been in disposables ever since. Some mild research told me that the first disposables were around a while before that. What is best? I could not imagine wearing cloth now because I am so used to disposable nappies and I hate changes for no major reason.
  9. Dreadful 90's cheese... [sorry] THE SMITHS "The Hand That Rocks The Cradle"... now that's serious but, just for fun... Everybody's Nappy Nowadays - BuZZcocks Talc-ing In Your Sleep - Crystal Gayle Diaper-active - Thomas Dolby Pull-Up To The Bumper - Grace Jones **Please excuse me, it's just a bit of fun, I don't wish to spoil your post.
  10. Good point! I never actually looked that close to see the "emo" factors... I was just attracted by the colors!
  11. My advice would depend on where exactly you intend to be seen. I've only recently mustered the courage to be seen in public. Open-plan changing areas at the pool have also caused problems but my advice would be [in general], never to assume that everyone is going to suddenly stop whatever they're doing and stare. Recently I changed at the beach standing up just the same as anyone else and got down to my nappy and plastic pants, then sat down under a towel to take them off and no-one took a blind bit of notice. I think we often worry a little too much about what other people think anyway.
  12. Well I was amazed to find these briefs in our local Tesco... hope it is not against rules to model them here, but anyway, here they are!
  13. I usually pack three nappies in a carrier bag and fold it up tight. If going to the beach, it's important to keep any sand out. My talc I keep separate along with shampoo and shower gel [if I'm going to be using any showers] and my wipes I keep in a small cool bag, as this keeps them refreshingly cool on a hot day.
  14. I found when Googling plastic pants, most of the sites offered the snap-on variety.
  15. Good answer! Actually makes my question look a little daft because I forgot to mention pull-ups. I used to wear these as a substitute but find that none are absorbent enough. Well you girls are lucky. If you're a guy and you want something "snazzy" in regular briefs [slips] then it is very limited. There is the Ginch range but they are a bit too square-cut for my liking. I like the bikini-style best simply because it suits me and feels comfortable. I know exactly what you mean. Underwear should be fun! Take boys undies, they can come with patterns and designs but mens are rather boring. I guess the nearest we can get are basic stripes or checks.
  16. Just a curious question really, because with my diapers I can fold and shape to fit comfortably just the same as briefs [or Y-fronts] which is what I wear when I am able. I have never liked the feeling of boxer-shorts, not even boxer-briefs, but then I am a creature of habit. So, what underwear do others find the most comfortable in that situation?
  17. Yes, it is confusing but, I have lilac Super's in a T-shape. Unlike the green ones, these are more white with some lilac on, not pure lilac in color. I really like the tapes on Moli's [unlike Tena] too!
  18. I absolutely believe! We are luck [very] to have indoor hot water showers and changing area at the beach. Most people take along their shower gel and shampoo... it's really nice to leave the beach sand-free... and clean! Also, this week when a friend has been staying and we have gone to the beach together, I have not felt so shy and just undressed the same as anyone else would do before removing my nappy under the towel. Leaving the beach is far more difficult [putting a fresh one on etc] and so the changing room is ideal... I've even mastered fixing one under a towel while sat on the bench!
  19. I agree. We must be delusional if we think that people are suddenly going to drop a sandwich just because someone has unusual attire. I mean, if you turned up in full jousting uniform you would likely get more attention. Just to clarify, I haven't put a fresh nappy on at the beach, only changed out of the wet one. Sand is wonderful to lie on but gets practically everywhere you don't want and you always seem to take a few thousand grains home with you.
  20. I just received my delivery of Molicare Super. Before I was on Plus. So I have gone from green to lilac! But I don't see much difference in thickness... [i won't feel any difference obviously until I have tried the first one]... I see there is a Super Plus - would this be the maximum strength that Hartmann's make? - to me, the Tena Slip Maxi [of which I still have several packs left], seem thicker than the Super's for sure.
  21. When I put one on I always push it down so it fits snug and is comfortable. It doesn't hurt when an erection takes place, it is uncomfortable though but I would probably find that was the same in briefs, which are what I would wear otherwise.
  22. Yes, it's back up, just received an e-mail telling me so.
  23. I am sure I would and thank you for the clarification.
  24. As I try to explain, I never change a nappy on the beach, sure I will take it off discreetly under a towel to put on my swimwear. It's certainly nothing to do with exhibitionism. It is about having the confidence to be seen with my nappy on [while changing] without having to endure "iffy" looks. Most sensible adults would know that it is for a medical reason anyway. rosemonde10 just said... "I've seen people diapered on beaches though. It's common." I can't say that I have ever seen an adult "diapered" at the beach. And I have no problem changing near children. I never go near them - [not a big fan, see].
