  1. Wet diapers won't freeze your bottom, at least not very fast. Babies get to go outside in the winter, after all, hehe. I used to wear diapers outside throughout the winter (when i lived in a place that had winter) and even being outside for several hours in temperatures well below zero (F), my diaper never froze, or really ever got more clammy than a normal wet diaper does after a while.
  2. What bothers me about this group is that their primary motivation seems to be attacking pedophiles, rather than protecting children. I realize this sounds like semantics, however there is a real difference. Read through their site and its attached material. The majority of these people seem to need some 'outlet' for what strikes me as a massive reservoir of hostility, and pedophiles make a convenient target of such hostility. Given the current mania with regard to sex offenses (I am not minimizing sex offenses, I am just pointing out that American society has worked itself into a swarthy froth over sex offenses lately), nobody is going to strongly oppose what these people are doing. If these individuals were truly out to help children as their primary motive, they would stop at alerting police once a positive identification had been made. The process of rabidly sullying the alleged pedophiles goes above and beyond the necessary effort required to simply remove pedophiles from circulation. They seem to revel in the punitive portion of their activities. Read the links from their homepage intended for people who have been recently named, or the associates of those people. Those pages carry a palpable arrogance; 'we just screwed you, there is nothing you can do. We have all the power, you have none.' The problem here is that pedophiles just happen to be the current target of opportunity. How much difference in mentality is there between these people and homophobes who murder homosexuals because they are disgusted by them? How much difference in mentality is there between these people and KKK members of a few decads ago carrying out lynchings? I would contend that there is not much. The current vigilantes simply happen to be targeting people who actually pose a threat to society. One particular quote on their website struck me especially. It was referring to a recent convicion they obtained, and they stated that they were dissapointed that the offender received probation, but that was OK, that wasn't their part of the system. Of course they didn't lose any sleep over the court sanction, they had already exacted their own punishment. That being said, I appreciate the novelty and effectiveness of their methodology. I think that their tactics can form a useful component of legitimate authorities efforts at catching and prosecuting child sex offenders. I fully support the notion of identifying suspicious conduct and forwarding it to the police. I fully support developing a methodology such as this and disseminating it to police forces accross the country. I just do not support private citizens taking it upon themselves to investigate, prosecute, and punish criminal activity. A civilized society must effectively restrain criminals and monopolize the means of doing so.
  3. We aren't (necessarily) gays or any othe group that has carved its own acceptance in society, so it is perhaps erroneous to use them as a direct comparison. The homosexual community is indeed larger than ours, by quite a lot. That is not to say, however, that gaining a measure of acceptance is impossible. I do not think it is inevitable that people wil regard us as pedophiles. The "catholic schoolgirl" fetish is fairly well known. If people can accept men who are aroused by their lovers dressing up as adolescent girls, I think that serves as at least a plausible basis for believing that people are by and large capable of understanding the difference between consenting adults and child exploiters. The role of men as the "Daddy" in some romantic relationships is also a fairly well known fetish. As is spanking. Both of those incorporate elements of our fetish, and neither provokes accusations of pedophilia. I would argue that society is becoming generally more sexually tolerant. Sure there are fluctuations, and sure, there are areas of the nation where sexual repression remain virulent, but on the whole, I think it is fair to say that society has come a long way in accepting people for who they are and letting people get their jollies pretty much how they see fit provided nobody is harmed. As such, we do not need to waddle down The Mall in Washington and demand our place in society. We don't need Diaper Pride parades. We will simply benefit from peoples' increasingly permissive attitudes and at some point it will become a relative non issue.
  4. I will be flying over Christmas break, and I am always diapered when flying (I wet the bed... sooo, would be a tad embarrassing to soak the airplane seat.) I have never had my diapers revealed in security, though if I get pulled aside for additional screaning I'll probably be a little embarrassed; hope they don't spread all of my belongings out in front of everyone. It is very convenient, in my opinion, just wrap a thick diaper on and sit back for the flight.
  5. I have not ever had an extended (overnight) hospital stay. In the event I do have to do that, is there anythign special ihave to do to get diapered instead of a catheter? I definitely do NOT want a catheter, and I would be very happy to be diapered for the duration of the stay. I do have some on and off bedwetting issues, so I would not be stretching things to state that I need them, but largely I would just want to be diapered. I assume they would ask me if I had wetting issue son the chekc in form so i would tell them then, but where would I indicate my preference between catheterization and diapering? Is that just something I would need to ask the nurse directly?
