The waistband gets in the way of the ostomy. And I also am worried about the dressing on the wound getting soaked with pee. It just doesn't feel the same anymore.

I really hate the bag, and I miss wearing diapers. I have a lot of time to think about it tho. The wound is gonna take months to heal.

I was in an accident where I have damaged my anal sphincter and I currently have an ostomy while a wound on my rectum heals. I found out today that my anal sphincter may not be strong enough for them to reverse the ostomy. Does anyone here have experience with using a colostomy appliance and if it is better to keep or to be fecally incontinent and use diapers? The colostomy does handle smell well but it is really inconvenient. A poop filled diaper might be pretty inconvenient too tho. What do you guys think?

I was recently in the hospital after an accident where my rectum was torn and I begged them for diapers because my wound was draining so much that my bed was constantly wet and I couldn't walk because it would leak down my leg. Finally I had someone buy me some to show how it would help me be comfortable. Sometimes you have to take things into your own hands.

The only problem with the modified stent is that when i am sitting down (which is most of the time at work) i can feel my bladder fill up.

After wetting in my sleep for the first time in a while last night (went to bed in a dry diaper and woke up wet!) I thought the idea of being incontinent for a couple days might be fun.

Do not use my modified catheter design! It got stuck in my bladder. It was stuck for a whole day but finally came out. I am extremely lucky it came out.

So I also got my modified catheter stuck in my bladder. I spent the whole day worrying about it but luckily I pissed it out tonight. It got stuck from sleeping with it in too. I highly recommend never sleeping with it in. I ended up drinking a lot of water so I had to pee often which I think opened up my urethra. It must have adjusted in my bladder and was in the right position to leave the bladder. I am very lucky! I was going to go to the hospital tomorrow which I narrowly avoided. Please be very careful with modified catheters!

I have modified a catheter but cutting off the end and putting sugru at the cut end to smooth out the sharpness on the cut. I didn't put a blub at the other end because I was having a hard time getting it through the sphincter muscle. I think I have the length at the right size so it ends right at the base of the shaft when inserted. I haven't had trouble with it slipping out unless I really push when peeing.it seems to stay in place at the base of the shaft because I think the pressure of when it ends at the base.I can remove it easily because I can feel the end at the base and can grip it through my skin because of the sugru. Also if I push it out like I am forcing pee out it will move out a little to grip easier.I have had really good success with this. I have just worn it for 12 hours and slept with it with only a little discomfort when I woke up from soreness from the end of the stent. I an wetting with it dribbling out but if I sit or lay down it will not empty completely until I stand up. It will still dribble a little though.
