  1. yea, everyones sizing is out to lunch! But, its not entirely their fault. Alot of these diapers are made overseas where their sizing and cuts do differ (sometimes drastically). So you really need to try some samples before jumping into a case of diapers... On topic... Ill make a small review on the ABU cushies... The double tapes are great, i really didnt think that they would work so well, but they do! The absorbency sucks, at least it does compared to anything else i have worn in the last 5 years. I really though they would be better than this, i dont think i have had one that didnt leak while sitting after one small wetting. This is both good and bad i suppose, they are pretty thin, nice for 'playing around' as compared to a thicker diaper. Like mentioned before, the design on the plastic backing is great, but the tape zone is a little 'in your face', i personally think it could be better. The plastic backing is a little bit thin/fragile. The ol lady likes to get a little carried away while 'playing' and out of all of the other diapers i have, she always seems to tear these ones up real easily LOL Overall, a pretty nice diaper, but the absorbency lacks greatly!
  2. Like mentioned: Wash them several times, this removes any chemicals left on the cloth from manufacturing. Also, do not use and fabric softener, this will also reduce absorbency. Double/tripple/+ the layers. Most 'prefold' cloth diapers have a 4-8 layer soaker panel in the center. unlike a disposable which mainly uses SAP to absorb the fluid (which expands hundreds of times it original size), cloth diaper absorbency is limited to how much it can physically hold given its size. Plastic pants should also fit snug enough that it does not allow fluid to pool up at the bottom Personally, i love them, but i dont. For reasons mentioned above. I really dont care for how they feel after they are wet, especially if you dont wear a onesie or sleeper, they tend to feel really cold and clamy after a short time But, its also pretty hard to beat a cloth diaper for absorption rate and preventing leaks if your a side-sleeper!
  3. Ive never had a big issue with them clumping up, and i wear them every day to work and while out and about. But, i do always wear a onesie, maybe that helps... I have noticed that if im just laying around the house, not wearing a onesie, that it doesnt take long before the fluff starts to separate and break apart after a small wetting. But again, even at work (quite active), soaked or not, its never been an issue for me!
  4. yes, go for it. shes obviously accepting of it at one level or another. But like mentioned, dont get too carried away and start pushing things on her or things may go south in a hurry! Luckily, my fiancée is very accepting of my 'other self'. So long as their is a healthy balance between the 2 of us, she has no problem with me indulging in diapers and she even plays along most of the time
  5. i would be willing to help you out as i have a pretty good inventory on them! But as im not looking to 'get rid' of them, i wouldnt sell a case for less than i paid and shipping for a case would be roughly double what you are willing to pay... shipping would be alot cheaper if you only wanted a couple instead of a full case though!
  6. another good vote here! The are pretty bulky, but i use them as my daily diaper, not overly hard to cover them up a bit. Absorbency is second to none, ive used bambinos and abena x-plus's daily for years and ill say these top both for absorbency. The tapes are good, ive never had an issue with them like i have on the abenas. Alot of people say they have been getting defective product, but out of the 4 or so cases the only issue i have had was due to shipping damage. All in all, if you dont mind the bulk, its pretty hard to beat a dry 24/7!
  7. i agree, as far as a 'brief' goes, depend is one of the slimmest. You may want to look into a pullup or something, i doubt its bulk thats really your issue, its the fit and decreased mobility usually associated with a brief.
  8. Well, as always, this kind of thing is a huge grey area... But really, as long as your 'obsessions' (or whatever the heck you want to call it) are not effecting your 'normal' lifestyle, whats the problem? Personally, i think ive gone a little overboard, im diapered every night, pacifiers, bottles, sleepers, and have a few bears myself. I indulge at pretty much every opportunity possible (aside from at night!), but i dont let it interfere with my life to the extent of being a problem. Heck, my girlfriend even likes all of it LOL Personally, i can drop all of this tonight and although i wouldnt want to, i could still do it. When it comes to a point that you really 'need' these things, maybe its time to take a step back and assess your situation.
