  1. I think I can relate to you. I never knew my father, and my mother certainly didn't do anything to help the situation. She very rarely talked about him. And when she did it was negative.

My step father is my dad. He raised me, supported, and loved me as his own. He has been there for me, and still is. They are my parents.

BUT, I still had to go and find my bio father. It was just something I had to do. It was for myself. It's kinda hard to explain why if you've never been in this situation, but I'm sure the op knows what I'm talking about.

Well I decided that it was time, so with my newly wed wife as support, we went and tracked him down. I knew he was still in the area. And I knew how to get a hold of his friends and family. Long story short, 3 hours later, I was standing on his door step. I knew immediately it was him. And he knew who I was. He invited us in.

I told him about my life, and he told me about his. I asked him some very hard questions, and he answered them. Then we left.

I like to think I'm a tough guy, all things considered. And truth be told, I am a very emotionally reserved, analytical individual.

But I didn't make 10 feet out the door before breaking down and crying. It was very powerful night. It shook me to the core. Up to that moment I never knew how much of who I was, was based on me not knowing my father.

Since then I've come a long way. I've seen him a few times since, and I really should see him more. I still have questions for him.

All in all, I say go for it. Do what you can before it's too late.

  2. Oy.

I really hate it when July 4th is on a Monday. Had to put up with fireworks until 1-2AM on Friday, Saturday, Sunday and Monday. One day is festive. The second day I don't mind. But 4 days is ridiculous, I would like to sleep sometime.

    This.

  3. Yeah! Get a McJob. Do it! You wont!

Sarah is right. Most places have already interviewed and hired all the summer help they will need. Good luck though. Hope you find something.

  4. My laptop is a 6 year old compaq, and it was free. It tunes and data logs honda's pretty well. None of my vw's have a computer, so I haven's gotten to try it on my cars. Just on customers cars.

I don't think i would need anything that fancy to do what i need a laptop to do.

  5. I was in a coffee shop this afternoon and there were two cute girls in line with their lovely butt shapes showing thru their jeans. The thought of their gorgeous bottoms in diapers was really fascinating. It then came to mind: Why do we toilet train women? These very women standing in front of me could literally be in diapers right now if only their parents chose not to toilet train them. Why not keep women completely oblivious to the fact we as humans can control our bodily functions? This would create a world in which women are completely dependent on diapers. With time, I don't know if they would eventually learn to take control of their bladder themselves, but we should do everything in our power to keep women incontinent and diaper dependent. This would be a glorious world to live in.

Wait.... Since when do they have starbucks in kitchens?

  6. I have a bit of a conundrum. It's summer time now, and that means warm weather. And with warm weather comes air conditioning. The two go together like peanut butter and jelly. And to me it is especially important since I can not sleep if I'm too warm.

Now, for after years of trial and error, I have found that all I need to suit my situation is a small window mount ac unit and a good fan to circulate the glorious arctic breeze around my modest room. This combination fulfills my minimum requirements to stave off insomnia through the summer months very effectively.

But here I have always had one minor, albeit annoying, problem with this setup. My problem is this, because of the location of my fan, my feet always end up freezing. And any attempts to remedy this issue with hardware changes have failed. Adding blankets, moving fans, ect., just leave me too hot to sleep. And socks and slippers never stay on my feet.

So here is where I present my hypothetical solution to this problem, all my friends at [DD] offer their advice. What I would like is something from my childhood.(big shock, I know) I had a pair if these growing up, and I think they still make them for kids.

I want a pair of feetie bottoms made from a light jerzee material. I don't think I've seen these yet since everybody is obsessed with polar fleese. I don't need something that I could ride out a nuclear winter in. I just want some socks attached to pajama pants so the damn things will stay on my feet.

So if anybody has seen such an animal, please post it here.

    Tl;dr

My feet get cold. I want feetie bottoms.

  7. Which is it PeeDeePants? You have two different stories.

    My guess is neither.

I don't remember if I've posted on this thread or not; so I will either way.

My screen name comes from the fact that I love volkswagens, and the vr6 engine being my fav at the time. I have since caught the diesel bug, and it bites hard.

  8. Truth: apples and oranges are secretly the same fruit, but long standing differences in religious belief have caused them to go their separate ways.
