I blinked my eyes a few times… They hurt just trying to focus. It was like everything swirled into a white gray blur. I slowly regained my senses back in waves; first a chill of cold air brushing up against my fur, causing me to shiver. Then a soft padding noise around me. Finally I began to re-distinguish defining features and I made out someone standing above me. Something was wrong though, but I couldn’t quite place my paw on it. I tried my best to stand up, only finding it not possible. After the attempt I fell back into the soft ground.
