Why is the default condition that wetness indicators disappear ((leaving (in the case of Depends and others) a white diaper )) as opposed to appearing when wet?

I'd rather have a nice white diaper than all those blue or yellow lines when I'm dry.

Or maybe I should just wet myself .

Good observation on the IP board

Don't really have an answer for your question other than a guess. It is probably eaiser and cheaper to produce something that disappears when touched by moisture than it is to make something appear. Only a guess though.

Bambino's don't have a wetness indicator at all.
